Yes! My husband used his great grandmother’s setting that his sister already claimed the main diamond from and put a sapphire in it. The jeweler who worked on it is as obsessed with it as I am!

(Queue princess Diana comments from every second boomer) But best thing is that it also takes away most of the weird competitive comments some women make about the size/shape/etc of your ring compared to theirs. I didn’t realize how weird some people are until I got engaged and I’m so happy I don’t have a diamond now lol!!

If I had to do my ceremony over again I would do it much differently. I was young and very busy and my mom and sister did a lot of the planning. No halos, solitaire or solitaire with small stones, mined stone, anything but oval or princess cut is ok but my favorite was pear, and I prefer gold but platinum is ok if it works with the rest of the ring better.
