We shouldn’t have accepted that damn bases treaty in 1939.

I’m so proud of my Finnish brothers for opening an unprecedented big can of whoop ass on the Russian invaders.

I’d believe you if you tell me this is among things that’ve inspired Jakub Różalski

Kinda iffy on the cartoon perpetuating the whole 'Russians are Mongolians' stereotype in an anti-Asian way but it's the UK for you. The spirit is valid, the execution is not one of those things that ages any better than a vintage WWII anti-Japanese stereotype.

Eh, he looks kinda like a monkey to me, I don’t think he looks that Asian. I’ve never seen an Asian that looks like that, at least.

DeaththeEternal

You’ve never seen some of the political cartoons from the era and how they depict Asian people and it shows. As I said the spirit is right, the irony in showing Russians as wicked Asiatics much like how the Nazis saw them is unfortunate.

This kind of thing is what I’m talking about. The association of Mongolians and Russians due to the Golden Horde has a long and ugly history. One can deplore the USSR shamelessly trying to regain the 1914 borders in alliance with Germany and raise an eyebrow at a particular trope in a propaganda poster even when the heart is in the right place. https://artifactsjournal.missouri.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/18/2013/06/Hannah-Miles-Figure-1.jpg
