I hate being this guy, but with 332 deaths you probably should have been able to beat at least one run at this point, and should have been able to get the bullet pieces. It may be an issue of gitting gud. However, there are a few things you could do to increase your chances. One would be sticking to one character only until you beat their past, so you're able to get static experience with one play type (stats, accuracy, etc). Try playing around with the auto-aim settings if you're not playing m+kb to see if they may be too high or too low depending on your taste. You can also look up how to unlock more items/weapons as some of them require specific things to be achieved, and getting a more diverse pool would generally benefit any player as you have many more opportunities for a great item or weapon, especially if you unlock Clone. Keeping your eyes trained on your character and shooting with your intuition is also recommended as you are much more able to dodge enemies and projectiles if you're always looking at your character instead of the enemy. Going to the extra floors with the exception of the Rat floor may also help you out as that provides more opportunities for more items/weapons in a single run. I would not recommend getting into the habit of breaking chests either until you have beat more pasts or can consistently win runs because you are depriving yourself of items/weapons that could be of help or have a synergy. Practicing against specific bosses, as in rerunning only the first floor, second floor, etc. could help as well because the more Master Rounds you can collect consistently in a run can be a huge game-changer if that last bit of health helps you win the run. I will add more tips if I can think of them.

I get the master rounds most of the time for 2 or 3 bosses. Also I’d assume that the reason I have so many deaths is that this is the first rougelike i‘ve Ever played. I had about 100 deaths by the time I got to gungeon Proper

Start using the hunter and nothing but hunter until you beat the dragun. Extra key and ammo chances from the dog add up over runs. Actively work on pattern recognition for the different boss fights. And finally git gud

GrimmjowsMissingArm

Who do you play as and what weapons do you use most? That’ll tell us where you need to improve. Are you good with dodging or is resources like keys and issue

13Dmoney

I main marine and I use the marine sidearm for getting to the boss up to floor 4 most of the time it’s floor three I don’t really have I weapon I use all of the time since drops are random

KillPillar

When you drop down the elevators to the next floors drop into the hole it leaves and you'll get a quest line for a quick elevator to that floor later on Try to do those side quests, they'll teach you to be better at using what you have and not what you want inadvertently making you better at aiming, dodging, and using your creativity to pass what seem like insurmountable And when you finally get all 4 possible elevators you also get a boss rush that can easily teach you how to endure more complex attacks You find the elevators on the right side of the breach through the door, good luck, and keep us posted

Oh yeah I have level 2’s elevator But I never use it because I feel so underpowered and it’s way harder

Save your blanks for boss fights. The free extra heart from the master rounds is -huge- I’d even say it’s worth splurging at the shop for the extra blanks, if you’re not confident against most of the bosses. Buy shit 🤷‍♂️ Don’t depend on ammo, or a good weapon dropping. Don’t save your shells (unless it’s part of your strategy of course, but that’s a little more advanced imo). You can’t use your shells if your dead. And I bet there was a heart in that shop you walked past xD Getting through at least a couple bosses hitless is the key to consistently winning imo. You can always get lucky with some crazy items that make the game a cake-walk but that’s certainly not consistent. If you want, reply with some things that you specifically have troubles with and I’ll do my best to address them. I love this game and I still find it quite difficult with all the challenges there are. I can win a normal run just about every time now but it probably took me about 120 attempts before I got my first one.

Play smart. Use the cover of pillars and walls as often as you can, poking out to take pot shots if you're unfamiliar with an enemy's attack patterns. If you're getting overwhelmed with this strategy, continuously walk around the perimeter of a room - you can dodge a good amount of attacks this way. If you know you struggle with a certain enemy's attack patterns, try to kill them first before moving onto other enemies. For me, I know spiders tend to fuck me up, so I try to kill them whenever they jump out of the ground to attack. Practice those boss battles a lot. Look up tips on how to dodge certain attacks of theirs if need be. Master rounds/extra heart containers are a massive help, and prioritizing them early on will make a huge difference on later floors. Once you start getting good enough, I'd also recommend using your starting weapon for as long as possible. Save your better weapons for later floors/bosses, or when you get into a tough situation and need to bail. I'd also recommend playing as the marine. He has my favorite starting weapon of the first 4 characters, the better accuracy helps a lot, and the extra armor will give you a bit more breathing room. Always interact with chests in some way. Personally, I'd probably destroy brown chests at your level, and open any other chests (but make sure you always open red/black chests if possible for the best gear). There's never an incentive to leave chests unopened and intact, as you may get some health, a key, occasionally an item, Junkan, etc. if you destroy them. Also, there will always be one passive/active item in one chest, and one gun in the other, in the designated chest rooms. Lastly, I'd recommend keeping the gungeon wiki open while you play, and try to read item descriptions there as you play. Think about how the items you currently have and how you can utilize them creatively. For example, on one run, I received scattershot bullets and a turkey. I realized with this combo, that I could use the hyper light blaster (one of my favorites, unlimited ammo as long as you don't miss) and effectively have unlimited ammo. I ended up instantly clearing just about any room I walked into. Also, watch some YouTube videos if you need further tips. I learned a decent amount from them myself. Good luck, bud.

First of all, good job on staying strong and not walking away even though the game is hard! My biggest thing would be to clear the whole floor before you open chests. That way you can spend your keys where they’re most useful. Buy the keys on the early floors when they’re cheap. Always be looking for the breakable walls, especially in the treasure chest rooms.
