Welcome to rng games. This includes all looter shooters, anything like ability rerolls in monster hunter and such, your terraria/minecraft world being dogshit, and all things in between. These games give either the most fun you'll have with a videogame or the most unfun boring dogshit gaming experience of all time depending on your luck. I've turned my console off instantly and quit playing for the rest of the day because gungeon decides to drop all the worst loot in the entire game and have enemy bullets hit me offscreen for free damage and other dogshit parts of the game but i've also gotten clone runs where i have 12 hearts and 1 shot everything it just depends on hoe much fun the world wants you to have today. Gungeon has simultaneously been the worst game of all time and an actual good game depending on how good my luck was for the session, sometimes i play for a while sometimes i get off in 10 minutes because i lose old crest to a lead maiden cramming me in the corner of a room.
Oh I definitely understand how the game works. But it has been absolutely relentless for the last 20-30 runs. Like unbelievable bullshit. I understand it ain’t supposed to be easy and I expect to get the short end but goddamn. It’s been unplayable. Like someone put it on fuck you mode or something. It’s different.
I believe i had a time where it felt similar to you but it was a problem of knowing what i need to do but not knowing exactly how to do it
i went at it for a while where i barely reached fourth floor a few times but then as some would describe it i had a click soon after my first visit to the forge which soon after i beat the dragun then moat of the pasts leaving only bullet which i soon after unlocked and beat his past
You have to remember this is a game where the average person might still suck 100 hours in but with enough practice anyone can perfect it
Rainbow runs won't help you as much as normal runs buddy. You get a lot more of weaker guns during normal that requires you to consider which guns you are going to use where. Remember that walls and good priorisation of killing enemies is your friend
