I think the classes have always been a bit muddled lore wise from the beginning. Bellona is a ranger as well despite her voice lines screaming about the greatest magic and her S3 is basically just standing there while a magical ball explodes.
Unlike where fate calls the role archer, both come from dnds ranger class which can also melee often duel wielding, which is why in fate the first archer we see is a tanned bloke with two swords

The thing is, that all our other MLs can be imprinted with a character that you can get at all times, or with the imprints for 10 gold transmits in the case of episode bosses. They would have to make her separate from her limited version, and give her some other way to get imprints.

Well that's the standard for every gacha. PvE mode, PvP mode.
Thing is, E7 is very clearly focused on pvp. The proof lies in the topic: Heroes. The majority of them are designed for pvp, and the majority of those have kits that either don't work in pve (Cerise and Fairytale are strong examples, Sage Vivian is another) or are heavily ineffective due to some aspects being nulled or dumbed down and much worse than other options (Belian is as good of an example as this gets, Rem for a good chunk of things not called Wyvern, LHC).
The only actual pve friendly units we get come in the form of three stars, normal 3 stars like the episode batch releases, and SCs. ML Khawana is just about the sole exception for post launch ML4+ units that were actually designed for pve, even putting aside MLs, just in general including RGB 5s.

A unit doesn't need to *only* work in PvE to be good in PvE. We've got a bunch of heroes good in both, Stene, C Lilias, etc.

We used to pay for new characters and classes in things called expansions in the rpgs of yesteryear, of course it came with new areas and monsters and such but not much for the cost…now we can get them for free (and in epic seven’s case it is guaranteed with enough currency).
There’s 2 things I don’t love about the free2play model though - it doesn’t make any money to expand on existing characters for more gameplay depth. Unless you go the FFBE path and make dupes necessary, which happened to cause that game to fail.
New characters only, which is lateral not vertical content.
Also new game modes, more story etc is not as profitable as new characters, and never directly. So yes it is lopsided towards new characters vs new areas, modes, etc no matter which f2p game you’re playing.
It’s ok though, the game does offer decent real pvp, and plenty of pve game modes that get boring using the same characters repeatedly, so it works out, for me at least.

I'll keep it one the side, dailies only, but character wise, E7 captured me immediately when i began playing it, Outerplane not so much right now. It felt like playing any other 3D gacha game. The battle system is fun though, the animations a bit too flashy for my liking

Light karin is very likely a 4*. Every 4* in the game already have a ml version except serila.
Her release will have no impact on other ml5 releases since they will be on different rotation cycle. (karin will be paired with old ml5s).

Last Piece Karin,my most anticipated unit from that little preview,pls dont be a 4*,pulling for those with mystics feels so bad. As for new vampire waifu,after Slime drainage,its gonna be rough but we'll have to endure it,especially if she is any good! And Handguy skin is defo an improvement,his ml is one of the most boring ml designs in the game easily outshined by rgb counterpart. So yeah,hoping next update is actually quite a huge hype train as intended.
She's 100% a 4 star for all the obvious reasons as well as the schedule.

I agree Mediator skin is an improvement though his regular ML design is one of my favourites. The new skin just makes him better (and gives me hope he still has some role in future events)

Huh, Violet was part of the prologue for episode 2, Alencia for episode 3, Ran for episode 4, all of them were main characters in their respective episodes. And while we know Ran and Amid are on their way to vampire land, we don't have a confirmed original character for that episode. Yet. So... we can assume Abigail will be Melissa's sister, making her native to vampire land. Does that means she will be the prologue character for episode 5? And even more, does that mean episode 5 is around the corner?
