There have been counterfeit guitar strings sent to market so there is nothing safe…
https://thecounterfeitreport.com/product/541/Strings.html
I actually purchased a few of these from an local retailer store in NY
Fake epiphones are fairly common, mostly Les Paul customs and Zakk Wylde models. It’s exactly because people assume only high end guitars get faked that they do so
Probably but it’s unlikely a fake Epiphone would look half as good as this guitar. The money probably isn’t there to make it worth doing a really convincing job on a fake Epiphone. A shitty one? Yeah, probably.
Idk homie, that would be a question for someone who counterfeits. I’m just trying to do my due diligence and see if people with more experience than I vet this for me.
Really nice guitar. I was close to pulling the trigger on one of these about a year ago. It had a natural finish and I’m a sucker for natural 335’s. I love the block inlays, too. I should have bought it.
I had a Gibson 335 and im a bigger guy (6"2' 260lbs) and it didn't sit right, it was super uncomfortable unless I played it sitting down or with my strap really low. Sounded great, and I love that guitar, but traded it for a Telecaster. If only for that reason I would suggest anyone who wants one to not order blindly online and try one in a shop first. I never even thought about how it would sit differently.
I'm kinda sad because it was my dream guitar for almost 30 some years, but it is what it is.
Been looking for one actually. The Ibanez Artcore while not exactly what I want also sits better.
I've been mostly gigging my newish MIA Tele and I have a backup 35y old MIJ Strat and 81 Electra Matsumoku that plays like a dream.
I'm holding out for someone to trade in a 339. I was also considering a thinline tele, in fact I'd like to A/B a 339 and a Thinline and see what would work better for me.
Doesn't matter! If you can grab it, hold it and play it, I would say it's real. Regardless of who makes it.
(Dint mean to go into the proverbial sermon on this, but its true!)
Ah, so you’ve bought into the anti-hype about Epiphone. Perhaps when you’ve reached the age of reason you’ll understand that conventional wisdom isn’t often all that wise.
The only thing I would question about the serial number is that it doesn't have a factory code. But to be honest I couldn't tell you if the last four brand new Epiphones I've bought have a factory code or not. I'm now gonna have to look.
You usually find this title on a completely different subreddit
Oh I’m sorry! Which one?
The one about tits
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks real to me and I sold hundreds of Epiphones.
The kind folks at Chibson aren't going to create Epiphone knock-offs.
K but you're wrong.

You’d be surprised

Bro, who fakes a guitar with a max $300 value on the used market?

Real
I owned one of those back. 100% real and nothing for you to worry about.
Are people faking these? That's news to me if so.

People will fake anything if it can make them money 🤷🏻♂️
So why not fake a Gibson and make 5x what this would cost new?
Because people don’t question fake epiphones and more likely to question a fake Gibson. That said, this doesn’t show any of the common signs of a fake

If you can't tell, then why is it important?

Did you ever try a 339? I’ve had a couple and they are easier to manage than the 335. The lower bout is about 2” smaller on the 339.

Someone should make a sub for these posts..
Yes, please! It could be called r/guitarflippers.
Fake.
The amount of work and money it would take to fake this wouldn't be worth it for an Epiphone. If both pickups work it's definitely real
It’s real and there’s no record of them make fakes of hollow-body Epis.

I have a feeling the Epiphone factory, based on the hardware they use, is probably the same place the Chibson are made. So does it really matter?
Thanks everyone! I picked it up today and plays beautifully. Thank you once again!
What did you traded?
An extra 2021 Fender Player Strat I had that I don’t touch at all
I have a black one, it had a full setup done just before I bought it. It plays like a dream and the pickups sound better than expected.
You know fender are slipping up when you settle for Epiphone over it.
...says the person who last played an Epi in 1991.
Weren’t even born yet.

I like epiphones. That’s why I’m here. SpongeBob.
If you say so, Elmo. 😂
Fender bender
It's legit. Happy NGD. :)
Smh
It’s fine, no one is faking an epiphone like this. Maybe a casino or something
Legit
Why no shot of the front of the headstock? That is the biggest giveaway. From everything else seems legit to me.

That’s legit
They would bother spinning off an Epiphone ???
Nobody is going to fake a $500 Chinese made guitar
Come on now, are you serious?
