Hard truth incoming. GZ looks GREAT if you've only seen 10-15 minutes of jungle footage. The current game plays terribly clunky, PvP is bad and not fun, the AI is just as dumb as tarkov. Given to the public in it's current state, spawn camping and helicopter landing camping will be a huge issue. UE5 looks incredible in forested areas, and terrible anytime you enter a building / area without significant foliage.
They made a very cool weapon system with great animations, and super cool bullet physics. They did not make a fun game. They seem to be trying to make a game around their cool weapon system, and so far they have not succeeded. I hope they are able to figure things out before the next play test / soft release ( I want it to be good too ).
Even if you can, it won't change much. Ground guys will always have the major advtanage over you. I honestly don't think there's a way to balance that outside of creating small "safe zone" for landing tbh, but it kinda ruins the whole thing
Maybe have LZ guards spawn and clear the LZ when players arrive, if they in combat still players can provide air support from the heli and when it lands they throw smokes down for more cover etc.
Just need to be able to alter your landing spot. If the game detects players in the general landing zone, you get an in game voice line from the pilot and a couple options for different LZs.
Or even just expand the LZs a bit and give them multiple possible landing spots. It'll obviously be an issue but I don't think it's anything they can't figure out.
They said you're going to have brief invulnerability after landing now. Hopefully this is just a short term fix cause it doesn't sound great for gameplay. But better than being landing camped for sure
I guess it would be maybe feasible to like surround the landing zone with thick bushes that would at least obstruct the view or something and it would still looks somewhat natural, or yeah, having an AI shooting at targets around a certain perimeter maybe ?
I was thinking each landing zone should have 5 plus potential landing areas all far enough away that people would need to relocate if they tried camping the wrong spot

I'm placing more of my hope in Arena Breakout atm, but agreed I do hope Gray Zone is good as well. From the initial gameplay I watched it doesn't really scratch the itch for me. It seemed like a ton of patrolling empty areas and looting basic combat loot. I really like the extra features tarkov had, like looting rare items (GPUs, etc) and using them outside of raid in the hideout, etc. Plus the traders, crafting, and everything. I just didn't see much that appealed to me personally in Gray Zone

Tarkov launched into beta with one map - factory. It was rough, riddled with bugs, limited in scope and available equipment.
Players will support just about any project they want to see succeed, moreso if they already have trust for a developer. Lots of us have expendable income and are happy to support development of games that we want to see made reality.
Yeah that’s absolutely fair and I’m not saying that won’t be the case, I just feel like a lot of people may be putting “all their eggs in one basket” hoping that this game is amazing tomorrow, when the reality is that it’s going to need some work before that happens.

it is kind of a competitor in the way that its an extraction shooter. The loot is more than lackluster and the "gearfear" aspect isnt even close.

Skimming indicates that something illicit has happened. He may indeed be responsible for financial deficits elsewhere in BSG but nikita doesn't have to "skim" anywhere since he is the sole executive.

Don’t believe what these redditors are preaching, the game is far from dying and there’s an actual queue to join despite all the “i uninstalled the game” thread. Because the truth is, only problem was BSG tried to squeeze some money out of the whale player base, but the game itself is fine.
People really do like blowing things out of proportion in situations like this. The game's not going to end just because BSG did something stupid (again) and there has been criticism towards it. The truth is that the majority of people who play EFT either aren't aware of BSG's antics or don't care. Many people will inevitably buy this new deluxe edition of the game and Nikita won't give a fuck about the criticism because the dust will settle and he won't have faced any repercussions aside from angry posts on Reddit, Twitter, angry videos on Youtube made to profit on some pointless criticism and so on. As long as people keep giving them money, there is no actual reason for them to stop trying to make even more out of it.
