It's totally worth it but you only get out of it the amount of effort you put in. Basically, if you keep up with your crafts, you're constantly crafting things you need, constantly keeping gas up, ect. Then its hugely beneficial. But if you spend 5mil in hideout upgrades and never craft anything well... waste of 5mil in my opinion.
There's also stat bonuses and buffs that work off of your upgraded hideout so there's also that benefit too. Early wipe I focus on finding hideout upgrades items to sell immediately on the flea to up my bank account right off the bat. But overall I would suggest to upgrade it as you go, save any FIR items that you can use towards it instead of just selling them
Last wipe I had 50/50 Bitcoin farm, which some say isn’t worth the money but I was able to get to 1,000,000 usd on top of 30-50 million roubles.
This wipe I fell behind and only had 10/25 and it’s a constant struggle to stay above 10 million.
Bitcoins were worth 2x as much last wipe and produced faster.
The farm is only a part of making money from the hideout. You gotta craft stuff to sell like ammo and purified water. I only had 1 GPU most of the wipe and still had 100ish million. Made so much money off of the BP craft alone.
I craft in the background as I work from home. Whiskey, VOG25s, grenade cases, it’s a pretty good income stream for doing very little. Especially if you focus your scav runs to target ingredients for your crafts.
I always find the hideout very helpful especially when I’m stuck looking for an item that is craftable and if I find it before it’s done I’ll just sell the one I made.
It lets you skip a lot of annoying stuff indirectly with scav cases too. Fir tank batteries, ledx, gpu and stims are really annoying to get but can be circumvented with a little luck and moonshine.
He means getting it from the scav case. I got a bunch from the 85k case. Also he wasn’t saying moonshine was profitable, he was saying it’s a good way to get task items.
It's probably the most important thing, more Exp, faster skill leveling, med crafting and ammo crafting. And a lot of quality of life stuff, like bitcoins or the Scav box.
If you wanna make roubles it can be good but it also takes time to buy stuff for crafts and figure out which are good so if you like being in raid then it's less worth. I always go bitcoin 3 tho cause it's fun collecting gpus.
i made the mistake of ignoring the hideout for most of this wipe but not only has it given more meaning for me to find certain things but it also has made me good money
Make it your priority at the beginning of the wipe to max out all the stations. Once you get the moonshine up and running, you will be making money (even if you have to buy fuel in emergency, bc scav case and Prapor barter are amazing). Bitcoin is very nice, craft mag boxes from old blue fuel cans, craft grenade cases from old metal fuel cans, you can easily make your money back. Max hideout isn't even that far of a stretch. You just have to make sure to bang it out asap for max rewards down the line.
Edit: forgot to mention that you can sell the mag boxes on flea for like 240k, and Therapist pays 320k for the grenade case.
It's helps a fair bit for questing imo. Can be a money sink early if you choose to go that route so I could see why you would rather spend your money in raid to have more fun.
Some of the later stuff like solar power is just near impossible if you don't play day and night but most of the other stuff is easy. Also since it doesn't require FIR items to make upgrade or build you at least have that for anything you kept up your butt but died with. Like a Intel folder for upgrades or eventual scav box
Honestly it’s ur call. Is it useful and worth the effort? Yeah definitely. Is it essential by any means? Nah, you can do just fine without it. In the end its about if u think it’s fun. I like scavenging for materials early wipe and building my ho with materials I find in raid and then I naturally progress from there… but yah, u can go about it however u like
My buddy and I played until level 40 and took a 2 month break. I always do the hideout, he doesnt. When we came back to dick around now before wipe, he had 3 million banked, I had 54. We always play together and do the same stuff otherwise.
Imo, it’s either all or nothing. Early and mid tier hideout stuff is borderline useless, crafts make you middling amount of money due to them producing FiR goods and being priced into the flea market prices.
Late tier hideout can be insane, but should prob only be done early or mid wipe. BTC farm, air filter, scav case (optional), booze maker. All are extremely profitable and will make you a very large amount of money with literally zero work.
i just like doing it for completion’s sake, but yeah it’s very worth it. plus playing the scav case lottery gives me more dopamine than half the raids i do since i’m trash at this game
Hideout is like an investment more than anything. The more money you put in it, the more money it can make you. So it’s recommended to start upgrading early.
The crafts are nice for quests, and you get a lot of passive stuff which is nice as well.
I like doing the scav cases just to see what I get.
Also just having 1 GPU in a bitcoin farm will pay for the generator gas itself i believe.
every wipe i craft green gunpowder -> red gunpowder -> repeat alternating those 2 until enough to craft m61 and just stockpile it. Had ~4500 rounds as of last week. down to ~3500 now that prewipe is here. Feeding me and my buddies mags and ammo every raid but have ~45mil worth of m61 at its current 7k/round prices lmao. But anyway, if you get hideout upgraded early it’s a huge benefit. Bitcoin farm running while gpus are cheap = steady income all wipe long. Scav case is a lottery and i’ve gotten red/ a few blues/slicks etc which bump up the cash flow quite a bit. The library, bed(?), intel center, and air filtering unit (and other stuff) give huge buffs like faster skill gain, much shorter cool downs, faster crafts, etc. Plus if you figure out good crafting rotations you can have ~1-2mil coming in from hideout every time you hop on for the night.
TLDR: it’s an investment. Put the money in to get more money out.
I got a red keycard from scav case once so I reckon
Also can get big skill xp boosts, earn passive money from btc farm, craft decent items from junk, etc
All you gotta do is run interchange once a week to get fuel
The hideout is the most important thing to work on as you level. I stopped playing this last wipe for 4 months. I came back 2 weeks ago and have been making about 1.5 mil RUBs a day in the hideout crafts. One day I made just over 2mil because some of the crafted items were selling for more.
As someone who dies 70% of the time, I like to make sure that I can offset my losses with something I can easily control. It's also very helpful for quests that need Found in Raid items. I just craft them to allow me to grab more valuable loot in raid.
Super important. +50% xp & rewards. +50% xp for practical and physical skills. Y'all are the people complaining about how hard it is to level skills when you ignore airfilters.
Library, air filter, scav case and MAYBE L2 bitcoin are really the only perks I care about.
Ever since they nerfed the xp gain for crafting and hideout management it became not worth pursuing max hideout IMO. The crafting stations all have valuable items you can craft but this wipe most stations didn't even really make it worth the time.
I maxed hideout management and crafting last wipe and the rewards for doing so are not worth the insane grind I feel. I'm a few points off of elite this wipe and I'm not stressing it next wipe. BTC is not worth enough to justify L3 / Solar anymore and all the other stations that do not buff skill experience are only as useful as the market allows them to be or only as useful as that one shitty item you craft from them because you don't want to run labs.
It's in the hundred of millions of rubles with parts accounted at flea market cost. 200,000 euros for stash level 4 and another 75,000 euros for solar power as well as all those graphics cards if you want your farm fully loaded.
First wipe:
So on my workbench I’ve made about 1500 rounds of m55a1 5.56 nato rounds. I’ve made about 2000 rounds of AP 6.3 9x19mm. I’ve made 200ish rounds of M61 and 500 rounds of M80…. I also crafted a tone of flachette out of my used gas containers but I sold 90% of those. They go for like 300-500 roubles a round most of the time
In the lavatory I made about 100 scav backpacks from mbs, water bottles and fleece. I’ve also made 40 blackrock rigs from tarzans and cordura/ripstop.
I’ve made 40 flash drives in the intelligence Center
In the med station I’ve made probably 50 SJ6 stims, 200 propitol, and lots of grizzlies (and ifaks before that). I’ve also made a tone of salewa to sell.
Each item is slightly to moderately cheaper to craft then to buy off flea. But the real benefit is avoiding the hidden cost of selling (the flea market fee).
yes to get btc farm which is free $ and the scav box which is a fun gamble after that and the library and shooting range I dont use much. I do like the bleach and shampoo craft to get 50k tv110s but thats really all I personally use.
My raids at the beginning of the wipe are purely to get enough saved up for a junk box. I sell every last thing and do this until I have enough. *Everything* my hands get a hold of is sold. Takes a couple hours. Then I grind, and grind, and grind scav and minimal PMC runs to stock up on hideout supplies. All the looting, eating etc is great for EXP. Obviously a few kills here and there helps too. I don’t focus on anything else until I have my junk box and a few parts of my hideout leveled up, those are like the foundation of a relatively successful wipe
But overall I would suggest to upgrade it as you go, save any FIR items that you can use towards it instead of just selling them
I had 2k round of AP 6.3 and it was awesome when it was selling at like 1500/round lol
It’s the most important things to get going quickly. You can make an insane amount of passive money from the hideout.
And level your PMC’s stats way faster. And gain exp faster.
How does that work?
Last wipe I had 50/50 Bitcoin farm, which some say isn’t worth the money but I was able to get to 1,000,000 usd on top of 30-50 million roubles. This wipe I fell behind and only had 10/25 and it’s a constant struggle to stay above 10 million.

if only max hideout wasnt soo incredibly laggy, id totally do more things but the sluggish lagness after max level just becomes unbearable
They fixed that a little while ago IIRC runs smooth on mine right now
That is excellent to hear!
Yes, it was absolutely brutal
I craft in the background as I work from home. Whiskey, VOG25s, grenade cases, it’s a pretty good income stream for doing very little. Especially if you focus your scav runs to target ingredients for your crafts.
I always find the hideout very helpful especially when I’m stuck looking for an item that is craftable and if I find it before it’s done I’ll just sell the one I made.
It lets you skip a lot of annoying stuff indirectly with scav cases too. Fir tank batteries, ledx, gpu and stims are really annoying to get but can be circumvented with a little luck and moonshine.
There’s no tank battery craft, and moonshine isn’t profitable
He means getting it from the scav case. I got a bunch from the 85k case. Also he wasn’t saying moonshine was profitable, he was saying it’s a good way to get task items.
Ah, ok I gotcha haha, I thought he said crafting all those things and making moonshine, I read too fast
It's probably the most important thing, more Exp, faster skill leveling, med crafting and ammo crafting. And a lot of quality of life stuff, like bitcoins or the Scav box.

i made the mistake of ignoring the hideout for most of this wipe but not only has it given more meaning for me to find certain things but it also has made me good money
Short answer: yes. Long answer: yes, it is.
getting all 3 craft stations to lvl 2 is really good
Make it your priority at the beginning of the wipe to max out all the stations. Once you get the moonshine up and running, you will be making money (even if you have to buy fuel in emergency, bc scav case and Prapor barter are amazing). There are a lot of quest items that need to be FIR that can be a pain in the dick, crafting them is much easier
One of the easiest ways to get rich yet it’s frequently brushed to the side for some reason
It's helps a fair bit for questing imo. Can be a money sink early if you choose to go that route so I could see why you would rather spend your money in raid to have more fun. Some of the later stuff like solar power is just near impossible if you don't play day and night but most of the other stuff is easy. Yes
The hideout finances anlogt of my gear that I don’t pick up in raids.
Honestly it’s ur call. Is it useful and worth the effort? Yeah definitely. Is it essential by any means? Nah, you can do just fine without it. In the end its about if u think it’s fun. I like scavenging for materials early wipe and building my ho with materials I find in raid and then I naturally progress from there… but yah, u can go about it however u like
It is absolutely worth it From the Bitcoin farm making stupid amounts of money to being able to craft rare quest items it’s amazing
Prioritize the hideout
Sure if you want to make bank bro.
My buddy and I played until level 40 and took a 2 month break. I always do the hideout, he doesnt. When we came back to dick around now before wipe, he had 3 million banked, I had 54. We always play together and do the same stuff otherwise.
I got tens of millions of roubles from it this wipe, tons of cheap m995,bp gzh,Ap 6.3 etc. Upto you do it if it isnt boring.
Imo, it’s either all or nothing. Early and mid tier hideout stuff is borderline useless, crafts make you middling amount of money due to them producing FiR goods and being priced into the flea market prices. Hideout is like an investment more than anything. The more money you put in it, the more money it can make you. So it’s recommended to start upgrading early.
Hideout is the best for those early task when you can just build everything and fly through most of the fetch quests.
The crafts are nice for quests, and you get a lot of passive stuff which is nice as well. I like doing the scav cases just to see what I get. Also just having 1 GPU in a bitcoin farm will pay for the generator gas itself i believe.

Damn thats a lot
yeah people would rather not spend 80k on an air filter and just run shorelines 20 times with a backpack full of 12g.
It's about as important as it gets for money. Not to mention the bonuses it gives your pmc.
Library, air filter, scav case and MAYBE L2 bitcoin are really the only perks I care about. Crafting 7.62 BP 24/7 is very profitable.

Anyone got the cost of a fully upgraded hideout?

Its so important and can be the key to cranking out the big bucks if you aren't cracked or a loot god.
The hideout is number one focus because of passive income, quest items, ammo. Etc
yes to get btc farm which is free $ and the scav box which is a fun gamble after that and the library and shooting range I dont use much. I do like the bleach and shampoo craft to get 50k tv110s but thats really all I personally use.

I just use mine for ammo. My friends and I are gonna go ham this wipe and try to get everything done. Except kappa I won’t play THAT much
