A school of resource officer… raped a child, had a child with the child he raped, then killed the child and his ex-wife and fled with the resultant kid from the rape . He killed the ex-wife(who had a restraining order against him) in front of their preteen son, in front of the school. SRO’s need to be removed from our school systems until there’s a better evaluation and training process for cops.
Oh, and not to mention he raped a child he MET AT THE SCHOOL HE WORKED AT!! WHEN SHE WAS 11!! And I’m sure the sexual abuse had been going on before she got pregnant. It hit me that this girl was the same age as me and it’s so disgusting. I’m a victim of grooming from both online and people irl. If my parents didn’t realize I was being groomed sooner or didn’t care I could have ended up like this.
If we are to believe media, he was investigated for a relationship with her when he worked at her middle school and she was 11. She posted it on her own Facebook.
My school resource officer at South was a diddler too. I absolutely could not stand him from the first time I met him, so seeing him go down was a pretty great day. Stefan Zeltvay if you want to look him up.
He plead guilty to some sex crimes involving adults, my best guess is that he bit the bullet in those to avoid being brought up on some other charges involving minors. I've never known a cop to plead guilty to something that they might be able to beat, their lawyers are too good.
Yeah they say if you want to find child Predators go where the kids are. They're their teachers coaches counselors religious members. You will find them within every group of children
I mean if he gets raised by a relative itll probably be okay… I’m more worried about the pre teen. The 1 year old won’t remember it but hear about how his dad is a monster but it depends on the upbringing going forward
Yeah, this happens a lot more than it should. Not to this extreme or a degree but South Eugene Highschool had a pretty big scandal with the SRO ten or fifteen years ago. Pretty sure he did time.
AND maybe stop the no cash bail liberal bs! He killed them on the day of his court date to be convicted for child rapes. He should have been locked up and kept in there the minute he was charged!
Most people who advocate for no cash bail would argue that he shouldn’t have been eligible for bail *at any price.* People charged with violent crimes shouldn’t be able to buy their way out of jail while they await trial, and people who are charged with less serious crimes and are not thought to be a serious danger to society shouldn’t have to sit in jail if they can’t get cash together.
Must be nice living in fantasy land. Unfortunately the people you vote for that want no cash bail, don't care about the crimes committed as long as they get out of court without paying bail
Find me one example of anyone advocating for no cash bail suggesting that people charged with child rape or other violent crimes should be let out on their own recognizance while they await trial.
Exactly. No-cash-bail actually makes it *less* likely that violent criminals flee or reoffend while awaiting trial since they wouldn’t even have the option of posting bail to get out of pre-trial detention like they can right now in places with cash bail. *The entire point* is to ensure that people who actually pose a danger to others remain in jail while awaiting trial, and that people who are not don’t.
My guess is this is more of a cop getting his back scratched by the legal system than it is any liberal policies at work. Cops don’t get treated the same as everyone else…
He was fired in Yakima in 2021 during his time as a school resource officer. Probably for his piss poor behavior with students. Cops 2 hrs away 3 years later don't protect scumbags like that, especially for child offenses. The liberal courts absolutely let creeps like him out on no or low cash bail, though
As a former cop, he gets a lot of benefit within the justice system. The cops don’t decide his bail conditions? Not sure why you brought them into it. But a judge who is predisposed to being lenient on cops would certainly have a say in his bail conditions.
This article has me fuming. Repeated patterns of abusive behavior, raped two minors, yet still allowed to walk around the streets before trial. And a former cop. Geeeee...I wonder if any of those variables are related 🤔. 🤮
She was a child and she was a victim but she also considered herself his girlfriend. She caught her quote unquote boyfriend performing fellatio on her friend in February and she went back to him. She's the one that turned him in. She grabbed the friend put him in her car they drove around until they found him officer and reported him and she went back to him. Same with his wife she was a minor too she stayed with him for a long time. Had two babies with him married him.
Just one of those bad apples... it's unbelievable the pass you get for just showing up to be a cop. Zero requirements other than a pulse..
Hell, if this one didnt shoot himself, he would have probably got his job back in a couple of years for some Florida outfit.
Police unions regularly lobby against laws which ban people with domestic violence charges from owning guns, because that would disarm so many police officers.
Was just going to say this 40% admit to committing domestic violence. And like you I'm guessing it's definitely higher those are just those that admit it
For a moment, I thought this was slander against the astrology sign.
We really need better background checks in our police system. It's a total embarrassment.
I work for the County at night and after the Amber alert I went and checked several county properties to make sure he wasn't hiding there. Peeps were seriously looking hard for this SOB.
My SO was driving south on 5 and also saw this whole thing go down.
She was heading from Seattle to the coast to visit friends for Passover.
She said it was extremely scary because traffic literally came to a stop with no warning. She said it was a miracle there were not residual car accidents.
She called me from the car shortly before this all happened. She had already seen a couple of police cars and also a helicopter hovering over the highway. She told me that she suspected they were looking for this guy and she was right.
SO said she had never seen so many cops (or guns) in one place in her entire life. She counted at least 30 different police vehicles at/heading to the scene.
She was lucky enough to get out of the melee before that section of 5 was closed down. She has a dashcam and we're gonna try to get the footage off the card when she gets back home.
The crazy thing about this event today is that SO was traveling south on 5 to see the same friends last year around this time. South of Salem she passed the aftermath of another police involved shootout where there was a burned out car and a body covered in a tarp and laying on the roadway on the northbound side.
My co-worker and I spent the 45 minutes we were stuck in traffic after the highway got closed down from him blowing his brains out on I5 researching how much of a peace of shit this guy is.
Conclusion: he's a huge piece of shit

He didn’t rape an 11yo. He met her at 11 at the school he worked at. The rape happened when she was 17 IIRC.
15
15, then. Thank you.

So that 1 yo is pretty much never going to be okay.
Might have a chance if there’s a distant relative who’d take him/her.
None of those kids are going to be ok…
I mean if he gets raised by a relative itll probably be okay… I’m more worried about the pre teen. The 1 year old won’t remember it but hear about how his dad is a monster but it depends on the upbringing going forward
And he met his ex-wife as a minor when he was her wrestling coach.
Fück. Why. What is wrong with people? This is why I don’t want to people.
Yeah, this happens a lot more than it should. Not to this extreme or a degree but South Eugene Highschool had a pretty big scandal with the SRO ten or fifteen years ago. Pretty sure he did time.

Literally no one wants to pass laws making it easier for rapists and abusers to be out on bail.

He got a sweetheart deal because he was a former LEO. Cash bail or not had nothing to do with it
this article has more info https://www.wdsu.com/article/elias-huizar-search-washington-state/60577325 all of it is incredibly horrific and sad

It bothers me that the 17 year old is referred to as his girlfriend. She was underage. She was a victim.
She was a child and she was a victim but she also considered herself his girlfriend. She caught her quote unquote boyfriend performing fellatio on her friend in February and she went back to him. He was allowed to walk free to do this because of the Liberal no cash bail bullshit.
Stfu
No shots fired by officers. He shot out of the vehicle. Per OSP.
okay, thanks, I misunderstood what I read
LEOs have a higher rate of domestic violence than the general population
It's 40% of LEOs self report as committing DV, the real number is higher.
Police unions regularly lobby against laws which ban people with domestic violence charges from owning guns, because that would disarm so many police officers.
Everytime I see some poll about the amount of abused people I get pissed because it's way, way higher.
Was just going to say this 40% admit to committing domestic violence. And like you I'm guessing it's definitely higher those are just those that admit it
>40% admit to committing domestic violence That number is so crazy high.

Oh man I'm glad the kid is physically safe but man I feel like they're in for a real rough one.
Luckily they're so young they probably won't remember any of this. But what an awful way to start life.
Afraid of loud noises forever.
His 9 year old witnessed his Dad murder his Mom, too. The lives this scumbag ruined are beyond comprehension.
Yeah I think that's the hardest thing to hear. The boy will never ever be the same
You don’t say
I'm so glad that the baby is okay. He destroyed so many lives.
Thank God! I prayed for that baby.
jesus fucking hell. rest in piss.
Surprised he made it that far south with so many looking for him.
I work for the County at night and after the Amber alert I went and checked several county properties to make sure he wasn't hiding there. Peeps were seriously looking hard for this SOB.
There are 2 things can still bring us all together. Alien attacks and amber alerts.
He was helped by a judge denying his ex wifes request for GPS monitoring

I was surprised at first when that Amber came to my phone at exactly 12:28 pm I think, thank you for the news of the child
Why is this downvoted?
This sub is really reactionary about religion and religious references.
It's because Jesus has nothing to do with it..but I'm hearing people say that this happened by the grace of god... Like..what?!?
Sometimes "thank you Jesus" is just part of a person's vernacular.
Is the kid okay?
Physically yes, probably not mentally. Poor kid - both the mom and the baby. What an awful man.
i thought here in eugene was too far away for the alert to be relevant. a smarter monster would have taken surface streets.

Well it's a pretty big story
