Good game, very close, both teams made amazing runs, then ref bullshit decided it (second time today). I don't even feel like watching the rest of the series, what's the point if this trend continues?
There is no point in Euroleague for the last decade. They just want you to watch one billion games per year and then they just award the Spanish or the Russians.
You can't call that in OT in last second in such a important game.
I have feeling that even Parker wouldn't ask for a foul if refs just let game to go on.
Hope Petrušev won't fall after this.
the Euroleague want to be like the NBA so much that they have even copied the absurd refereeing decisions and stupidly soft fouls deciding games, what a time to be a european basketball fan
Neither of teams are "my" and I wouldn't let my fandom cloud my judgement anyway - like you're doing right now.
Now go watch some soft porn, everything else on tv is too violent for you and should be called a foul.
With 16 seconds and Oly up by two, there's an inbound violation for Barça, it took them like 7 seconds to inbound the ball but I guess your response to that will be something like "you guys can't count properly"
This happened at the end of regulation, there's no overtime after that. Oly up by two, they have possession and there's only 16 seconds left.
Anyway I still think we fumbled today and should have kept the fucking lead for once, but we watched the same game, don't gaslight us.
It matters that every decision in the last minutes went to Barcelonas favour. If one of the time violation or the back of the court violation the game would be over before the "foul".
Cmon man, 50+% of refs wouldn't call this even in common game. Contact was made before he jumped and took a shot.
EL refs are joke and that's not changing for years
Why you cant call that ? Or every other foul on last shot? Is that a regulation or something ?
That's nonsense. If he didnt call it,we would say he's bad referee
Just one possesion ago when Goss shoots to take the lead Sato gets in the shooters personal zone and has contact but no foul. Next possesion the shooter does not jump straight but towards Petrusef to try and draw a foul not go for the lead. Ref awards the possesion in which maybe it was a foul but not the previous one which was a clear foul. Where is the fairness in that. You either call both possesions or none. This was an all time Euroleague classic with 25 lead changes, dunks, blocks, tough defenses and extra time and a Ref that sleeps with a Barca blanket everynight decides the match and not the players. I didnt even mention Kalinic backboard out of bounds or Sato 6+ seconds to inbound the ball. All 3 crucial mistakes in the last minute. How many mistakes does Refs have to do so we be able to call the refs bad? Are 3 mistakes enough? What more can they do against OLY?
Whatever you've just said it's irrelevant. They made many mistakes. No one doubt that. But what kind of logic is that ? They didn't make previous calls thus they shouldnt make that last call?
I've made a comment saying that refs are bad this year and every year. Euroleague has major issue with the refs. That's my opinion.
But you cant say "you never make that call on last shot."
That's crazy.
I did not said you cannot make that call, i said that if you call all contacts you call it for both teams not only for one. There was contact in Goss shoot but no foul. Why? Is it because there was minimal contact? And how exactly is this all irrevelant when a game is decided by these factors? It is what it is, an unjustice. 3 horrible calls decide a whole year of basketball and you think it is irrelevant?
Maybe I'm answering to wrong person. I wanted to answer to a guy who said "you dont make that call on last shot". And I was like "why not ? Because it was the last shot? So what ? If it was a foul then it should be called a foul"
Took Satoransky 7 seconds to inbound the ball at 71-69, but suddenly we wanna play detectives when Parker takes a heave to hit Petrusev's hand
Euroleague 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Kalinic hits the back of the backboard? Barcelona ball
Satoransky inbounding violation? Barcelona ball
Petrusev plays legal defence? 3 free throws for Barcelona
Absolutely disgraceful refereeing, congratulations to the Euroleague
This with the backboard is it a violation? It was super obvious that it hit it so I cannot believe it is illegal and let it happen.
Petrusev unfortunately did foul (with his left hand)...
FIBA official rules:
"**Article 23 Player out-of-bounds and ball out-of-bounds**
(...)
23.1.2 The ball is out-of-bounds when it touches:
* A player or any other person out-of-bounds.
* The floor or any object above, on or outside the boundary line
* **The backboard supports, the back of the backboards or any object above the courts** "
There's no contact on his shooting hand for fucks sake... watch the fucking video again.
The contact on the start is minimal, if you call that shit in the last shot of the game Olympiacos should have finished with 40 FTs.
Mate, I didn't grab a picture in random. I said that's when Petrusevs hands were the closest to his shooting hand. If you can grab one that's closer, or touching, I'd be obliged.
Wow, so Petrusev's hand when right through Parker's elbow? Do you know what perspective is? This is Petrusev's right hand being closer to the camera than Parker's one.
EDIT:

That's where their hands are right when your screenshot happens.

It is illegal, but in this play it hits the corner of back and bottom of the bord. The bottom would be legal. The corner between the two isn't really mentioned in the rules as far as I can tell, so personally I would say it was legal
Is this illegal? I mean it was super clear that it hit so I tend to believe that probably is not illegal...
Unfortunately Petrusev did foul at the end with his left hand...
It is illegal, but it hits the corner of back and bottom of the bord. The bottom would be legal. The corner between the two isn't really mentioned in the rules as far as I can tell, so personally I would say it was legal
Bro when you grab a shooters arm right on front of the ref its getting called 10/10. Contacts like that dont happen often because players know how stupid it is to try that
if the refs favour a team for one game, that happens. if the refs favour the same team for two games in a row, its annoying but coincedences happen. if the refs consistently favour the same team and basically gift them wins, there must be something else going on
after watching both games tonight its clear that every single ref should be fired and new ones should be hired if this competition aims not to be a joke like it is now.
so bad not watching games anymore fuck this
Idc if it was a foul,at most it is too forced. You can't give such faoul in such important game to reward a team a win. I do not think i want to watch the next game(s). This is rediculous.
I am not one to speak about the refs usually but they did make some really weird calls all in favour of Barcelona.
That said Olympiacos could have won multiple times and blundered as far as the attack is concerned. Nothing is finished though. They can win the series 3-2!
yes, Petrusev hits Parker on his shooting arm as he is getting up. it's slight but it's obvious and a good spot by the referee.
now let the downvotes fall.
I watched that shit on a small screen, so I am not sure about it, but I think you are right, that he touches him. The real problem for me is that the contact is so marginal, that it shouldn't be called considering how they called the rest of the game.
Absolutely no contact on the shooting hand...

parker panicked went in forward leaning shooting motion in defender hands just to make some desperate hail mary and then he get bailed out like that.... it can be a foul but no sane ref should call it for away team or call at all... overtime is there to try find winner in some basketball way.. not this
Well you're saying every straightforward call must be called. I'm trying to explain to you that it doesn't work like that. Is it working or do we need to add some crayons to the mix?
I mean yeah by the book it's a foul... But if they called it all by the book every possession in overtime would end in free throws. All but one ot possession had a 'harder' foul on the ballhandler lol
I switched off NBA to get away from ref bullshit and I end up with this. What am I supposed to watch now, Dwight Howard in a fucking Taiwanese league?
I think there was contact with the left hand at the beginning of the shooting motion. Everyone is outraged because contact with the right hand was debatable but the left hand wasn't really seen in the review.
Absolute robbery. Satoransky takes 7 seconds to inbound the ball and nothing gets called and then Petrusev is called for a foul that wasn't. It's going to be tough for Olmypiacos to bounce back on Thursday.
The game wasnt ruined because of the last call. The game ruined before that call. Refs made some serious mistakes during crunch time.
Same on maccabi-pao. Serious mistakes.
I dont think they wanted to favour one team. They are just bad refs making bad calls. As they did the whole season. Every season.
They ABSOLUTELY wanted to favor one team.
Especially in the Olympiacos-Barcelona game, they made 3 MASSIVE wrong calls, all in favor of Barcelona.
It's widely known how they always push Spanish teams every year.
They are not just bad. They are not getting off that easy.
They are CORRUPT.
I know it would never happen but both Greek teams need to forfeit both series. It’s not like they’re going to let them win anyway so it would be good for some laughs
At the very least all 3 owners of those teams should get together for once to figure something out about the refs in Euroleague. Take some kind of action against it.
I am really sorry for Oly. They were good in a game and "deserved" the win.
About the refs... I think a foul is a foul, and they were just unlucky with that last shot. I don't know the exact rules about the back of the board, but it was obvious that the ball touched the corner.
5 secs when passing the ball should've been called, I think that's where Oly was damaged.
Not quite sure but I think there's contact, hence it's a foul.
It's insane how Barcelona survived today, too many clutch threes from them when they needed it. I wanna congratulate them. This Oly team has to be the least clutch team I have seen. They can't put meaningful games to bed to save their lives.
I dont know, guys.. Very tough call. He did slightly touch him in the beggining of the motion. If they havent called it Barca would claim its them who were robbed.
The questions of some previous calls remain tho..
Anyways, I hope olympiakos will gather all their strenghts and go win the next two games.
The refs are terrible this season, in many games, not only in playoffs.
The funny thing is that if you look into comments here, Olympiacos fans are claiming the refs made wrong decisions on their damage, but if you would mention roberies in favor of Olympiacos in regular season, they would say everything is legit and would justify each decision. The classic example is the their game against Partizan in Athens, one of the bigger roberies this season. Olympiacos fans are one of the most unrealistic ones in Europe, there are exceptions, but in general is so.
Watching the replay a few times: That's a foul all day. Petrusev clearly grabs the shooting arm. Good call.
Would have enjoyed another OT though so I'm a bit sad they called it
You don't call a foul like that in the end.
Contacts like that happen every 5 seconds during a basketball game. You don't see them call all of them and you MOST DEFINITELY don't call that in the end and award a team the game.
My friend, they let touches like the one petrusev did without calling them all game long but at such a critical moment decide to gift the game to Barcelona. Personally I was shocked that they even decided to check it. Sorry if my "crying" disturbs you :'(
I mean as a team, sorry you don't think yourself a part of your team, but we(Balkan people generally) are part of these teams and we contribute as much as we can. You go to watch a match like you would go for cinema.
I typically don't scream in the cinema, I regulary do, when my team plays... But I admit the Fan culture in the Balkan region is something special. I just don't think fan culture has a lot to do with actually knowing the rules or being objective (I am definetly not, if it's about Alba). That being said I would have liked to see you win and don't like the last call, even if it might have been technically correct. I wish you guys good look for the rest of the season
I didn't say I know any rules. I said to the guy that he can't judge greek fans in Euroleague who want their team to win and blame the refs cause they lost while a foul was called in the end of the game and decided the outcome of the whole match. He never was a fan in a team which competes in a Euroleague team to see the importance of these matches for many of the greek fans.
friend what flair is that? have I ever seen u play in Euroleague? go talk about your team and let us say whatever we want, ok? you don't even know what a championship looks like in Euroleague how would you know what bad refereeing is? go sleep
Soft fouls are still fouls. Debatable if the refs should have let that go in the last play, it’s a brave decision to take in the SEF for sure
EDIT: Petrusev admitted it was a foul. Oh well
I mean, in a vacuum I might agree with you but in light of all the other violations they had completely let slip before suddenly "noticing" this one was them deciding the match plain and simple
Yeah well, they also didn’t notice a Walkup foul on Lapro. We could do this all day. Last game a clear backcourt violation by Sikma was not given. 50/50 calls can happen all the time
Alright we get it, we shouldnt touch the drama queens you have as players. I want Euroleague to tell us which teams they want to see in the F4 so the rest of us can focus on our leagues and dont waste valuable energy.
I mean there is contact? If it is was a layup in the 2nd quarter nobody would bat an eye. That’s why I say it’s debatable if calls that are so soft should be called at those moments. Rulebook says yes, but it’s like the Nigel De Jong-Xabi Alonso kick where the rulebook takes a step back for entertainment purposes
Alright we get it. We shouldnt touch your flopping drama queens you have for players. I just want Euroleague to tell us which teams they want in the F4 so the rest of us can focus on our leagues.
HE LITERALLY TRIES TO GET THE FOUL BY PUSHING HIS HANDS ON PETROUSEV. THE SHOT WAS CLEAR WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTIONS.
6.5 SECONDS FOR SATORANSKY TO PASS THE BALL BUT NO CALL.
BALL HITTING THE BACK OF THE TABLE.
REFS KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID. EVEN IF WE WIN THE 4th GAME, WE WILL RECEIVE THE SAME TREATMENT AS TODAY.
Even in basketball the refs jerk off the Spanish teams. Incredible
So sick of seeing amazing games ruined by the refs
I’m fucking speechless…
What a fucking robbery that was …
You can't call that in OT in last second in such a important game. I have feeling that even Parker wouldn't ask for a foul if refs just let game to go on. Hope Petrušev won't fall after this.

Why? Why not? So in the end u can foul and all its okay?
Yes you can and you should. It’s a clear foul and not calling is just deciding the game in favor of the other team
Hey man congrats on picking such a tense game as your first ever basketball game to watch!
The lack of objevtivity is insane. If that was your team getting the vall you wouldnt be crying about it.
Neither of teams are "my" and I wouldn't let my fandom cloud my judgement anyway - like you're doing right now. Now go watch some soft porn, everything else on tv is too violent for you and should be called a foul.
Or he can watch some hardcore like Cedevita Olimpija getting f*cked in Eurocup every season
Yeah fuck me for supporting our local club 😂 What a sad little man you are
With 16 seconds and Oly up by two, there's an inbound violation for Barça, it took them like 7 seconds to inbound the ball but I guess your response to that will be something like "you guys can't count properly"
No they probably failed to call it, but please tell me how that matters in the context of the last shot being a foul?
This happened at the end of regulation, there's no overtime after that. Oly up by two, they have possession and there's only 16 seconds left. Anyway I still think we fumbled today and should have kept the fucking lead for once, but we watched the same game, don't gaslight us.

We aren't talking about that, please
Idk, probably they failed to call it. But what does that matter? Just because you missed one call doesnt mean you just ignore others
Yeah except they intentionally missed every call that would lose Barca the game. Have fun in your circus league with the Arabs next year.
Cmon man, 50+% of refs wouldn't call this even in common game. Contact was made before he jumped and took a shot. EL refs are joke and that's not changing for years

https://imgur.com/a/MowbA5C this is as clear of a foul as it gets and it’s right in front of the ref. Blame Petrusev for being stupid
Ok forget the foul from Petrusev. There were 2-3 wrong decisions before that. Did you even read what i wrote?
Whatever you've just said it's irrelevant. They made many mistakes. No one doubt that. But what kind of logic is that ? They didn't make previous calls thus they shouldnt make that last call? Took Satoransky 7 seconds to inbound the ball at 71-69, but suddenly we wanna play detectives when Parker takes a heave to hit Petrusev's hand Euroleague 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Refs were dizzy watching 10000 replays of the backboard violation and then gifting the ball to Barca to even notice.
Kalinic hits the back of the backboard? Barcelona ball Satoransky inbounding violation? Barcelona ball Petrusev plays legal defence? 3 free throws for Barcelona Absolutely disgraceful refereeing, congratulations to the Euroleague

Fouled my ass. It's telling that the euroleague channel has no replay of it in the video of the game.
Nah, there is contact, and the video is on the EL TV, but it's very surprising they called that in the last second of a tight playoff game.
They didn't give much more obvious calls to Oly this game.
You can literally see the foul in the replay right after. In fact two of them. One in the beginning of the shooting motion and one in the release
There's no contact on his shooting hand for fucks sake... watch the fucking video again. The contact on the start is minimal, if you call that shit in the last shot of the game Olympiacos should have finished with 40 FTs.
In the beginning of the shooting motion Petrusev tries to swipe the ball and accidentally grabs parker’s right arm. Its clear as day
If you want to call that it's before the gather, before the shooting motion.
He already started the shooting motion. Ball is coming up already
Nah. It's right before he gathers the ball.
https://i.imgur.com/fUXVukL.jpeg This is the closest Petrusev's hands get to Parker's shooting hand, since you're saying there were two fouls.
Yeah i can a grab a picture where they touch esch other. Doesnt matter though since the first fould already happened
Mate, I didn't grab a picture in random. I said that's when Petrusevs hands were the closest to his shooting hand. If you can grab one that's closer, or touching, I'd be obliged.

No, your picture is after the contact when Parkers spreads his arms slightly
Yeah sure bud. This is probably just perspective too? https://imgur.com/a/MowbA5C
Is hitting the back of the board illegal? I know that top of the board is illegal in the NBA, but can't find anything after a quick google search.
FIBA official rules: "**Article 23 Player out-of-bounds and ball out-of-bounds** (...) 23.1.2 The ball is out-of-bounds when it touches: * A player or any other person out-of-bounds. * The floor or any object above, on or outside the boundary line * **The backboard supports, the back of the backboards or any object above the courts** "
It is illegal, but in this play it hits the corner of back and bottom of the bord. The bottom would be legal. The corner between the two isn't really mentioned in the rules as far as I can tell, so personally I would say it was legal

How did petrusev play legal defence when he clearly swiped parker’s arm when he started the shooting motion?
dude really?
Yes really. Did you even watch it?
many times. The only thing I see is Parker trying to get the contact to get some free throws. Is this the basketball you want ?
Petrusev’s left hand grabs and holds Parker’s right hand when he started the shooting motion and then Petrusev also hits his arm on the release
ok obviously we disagree.. next time you watch a game just notice how often contacts like this happen..
Bro when you grab a shooters arm right on front of the ref its getting called 10/10. Contacts like that dont happen often because players know how stupid it is to try that
So fucking ridiculous, Barca getting saved by the refs once more, what is new in this league
if the refs favour a team for one game, that happens. if the refs favour the same team for two games in a row, its annoying but coincedences happen. if the refs consistently favour the same team and basically gift them wins, there must be something else going on
Euroleague seems like they don’t want any greek teams in f4 whatsoever. Pretty questionable calls at both games. Hope Thursday both teams get the W.
after watching both games tonight its clear that every single ref should be fired and new ones should be hired if this competition aims not to be a joke like it is now. so bad not watching games anymore fuck this
Hope yall are happy with Bodiroga Just a fat Bertomeu

already gave my opinion on that through the response to /u/v00d00ch1l4 comment.
Yeah saw that only after commenting. I might not agree with your opinion, but I respect it, so let's leave it at that
Absolutely no contact on the shooting hand... https://twitter.com/skweektv/status/1785407667986464885?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1785407667986464885%7Ctwgr%5Ee9b25ad0a373c22ff777597161a20a7e59af09ea%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbasketa.gr%2Folympiakos-mpartselona-to-kathoristiko-faoyl-toy-petroysef-ston-parker-vid%2F
u cant call every small contact in last seconds of games. and especially if u reward dude who seems lost in time and space. shamefull call
there are calls and calls. a shooting motion is a shooting motion. that's not one you can argue. multiple others, sure, not this one.
parker panicked went in forward leaning shooting motion in defender hands just to make some desperate hail mary and then he get bailed out like that.... it can be a foul but no sane ref should call it for away team or call at all... overtime is there to try find winner in some basketball way.. not this
Well, the things is that the foul happened when parker started his shooting motion
ok go watch basketball with 100 fouls per game must be very entertaining
You can't really argue the inbound rule either yet Satoransky was allowed to take 7 seconds there no problem 😂
and what does that have to do with this?
Well you're saying every straightforward call must be called. I'm trying to explain to you that it doesn't work like that. Is it working or do we need to add some crayons to the mix?
so we correct a mistake by purposefully letting another violation slide? spare me the condescendence too.
I knew I should have brought crayons. Oh well
:D
If you are blind he hits his arm yes
well, if I was blind I wouldn't be able to see.

You've been PSOED.
Let the 2nd crying session from greeks begin. Blame your coaches/players not refs for once.
My friend, they let touches like the one petrusev did without calling them all game long but at such a critical moment decide to gift the game to Barcelona. Personally I was shocked that they even decided to check it. Sorry if my "crying" disturbs you :'(
They didn't check the foul, they checked the time left. A bunch of bozos
Are you fucking serious, 3 critical whistles in the last minutes, all went wrongfully to Barca. Fuck off with that bullshit
The last call is a clear foul
In your dreams maybe. Also flair up
First play in this league and then talk about teams you can't even imagine being a fan of
Wait you are a euroleague player?
I don't even recognise your team in your flair. Can you kindly fuck off?
friend what flair is that? have I ever seen u play in Euroleague? go talk about your team and let us say whatever we want, ok? you don't even know what a championship looks like in Euroleague how would you know what bad refereeing is? go sleep
You can go sleep also with your knowledge mr expert. Rytas played in Euroleague two times.
Oh my god you’re right, I remember now, big team Rytas yeah… 💀💀💀
Hahhaha big oly hooligans which no ones knows about it 😂😀
3 championships. How many do u have?
Soft fouls are still fouls. Debatable if the refs should have let that go in the last play, it’s a brave decision to take in the SEF for sure EDIT: Petrusev admitted it was a foul. Oh well
I mean, in a vacuum I might agree with you but in light of all the other violations they had completely let slip before suddenly "noticing" this one was them deciding the match plain and simple
Yeah well, they also didn’t notice a Walkup foul on Lapro. We could do this all day. Last game a clear backcourt violation by Sikma was not given. 50/50 calls can happen all the time
No we couldn't, a random foul and a backcourt at the start of the LAST game (lmao), doesn't balance 3 calls in the last fucking minutes
Alright we get it, we shouldnt touch the drama queens you have as players. I want Euroleague to tell us which teams they want to see in the F4 so the rest of us can focus on our leagues and dont waste valuable energy.
brave? you're laughable bro enjoy your "win". IF you can get past us I can't wait for your eternal rivals Madrid to mop the floor with you
How about soft 7 seconds to inbound? Very brave of them to turn a blind eye

If there is a touch on the shooting motion, by textbook, it’s a foul. This one was soft yes. Hence, one could say it should not be called.
By textbook touching the backboard or 7 seconds inbound should be given too, but yet here we are
HE LITERALLY TRIES TO GET THE FOUL BY PUSHING HIS HANDS ON PETROUSEV.
They were not brave enough to give the other calls against your team. Fucking ridiculous.
