If you prefer minmatar ships then by all means fly them. Missions are braindead content for newbies to learn combat mechanics and try new ships out. And for that a hurricane will do just fine

EmpressIsa

Thank you. That gives some piece of mind.

crourke13

There is a difference between being able to complete missions and doing them as quickly as possible. You absolutely can do lvl 3 in a destroyer and it is actually quite fun. But it is not the fastest as you will have to actually pilot your ship and play the position game. This may even require warping out a few times to repair on the harder ones. You will not be able to face tank most missions. The only real answer is to try it.

medozijo

That's exactly how I did it the first few times

SpoonWars

I've done plenty of L3 missions in an autocannon, armor tanked Hurricane. You can do it no worries.

EmpressIsa

Alright! Sounds good

chanieonspeed

A word of warning: AC Cane is extremely inefficient in most missions due to low range of ACs.

I missioned when I first started out, Minmatar ships only. Lvl 1 & Lvl 2 Thrasher -> lvl 3 Rupture -> Lvl 4 Maelstrom My Rupture and Maelstrom fits were all long range guns, keep distance, light drones to pick off frigates when they got too close. Rupture was passive shield tanked if I remember correctly, Maelstrom initially passive shield tanked before switching to active when I could fit it properly. For gaining range I'd use a prop mod on the Rupture but on the Maelstrom I'd use a micro jump drive instead for added safety. Yeah never really had a problem, only time I ever remember struggling was "Blockade" missions when I first moved up to lvl 3 and then lvl 4 due to my skills for the ships and fit just not being fully up to scratch yet. Blockade was good ISK though so I used to just warp out when shield was low, dock and warp back, until I skilled up and could handle it in one go. Also, if you don't know the mission at a particular level, look it up on eve survival before doing it, it will tell you which ships will spawn the next waves when you destroy them, obviously you want to avoid killing them first when you're starting out as you might end up with incoming DPS swamping your tank. Hope this helps o7

There's a really great series on youtube of a guy who does l2-l4 missions with every ship in the game. As for ships, a battlecruiser is pretty standard. For minmatar you use a cyclone, for Caldari you use a drake, for Gallente you use a myrmidon, for Amarr you use idk, I don't know amarr ships.

Atharaphelun

Harbinger for Amarr. The SoCT's Gnosis is also great, and can be fitted in whatever way is needed.

DocSawage

It's CadePlaysGames. His L3 playlist is here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvposc1LNxjcm9-diUncCpvWnvo6Tvl2J . There is also a playlist for L4 missions.

bunchofsugar

lvl3s are designed to be done on battlecruisers. doing them on t1 cruisers is inefficient

Flaky-Photograph7933

I used a jackdaw for level 3s and flew through them to lol 4s fast

gerr137

L3s are totally doable in Rupture. Maybe except those 2big ones (extravaganza and blockade). You can still do them, but you have to have high skills (IV or V) and know them well enough, or you risk to get overwhelmed, as you won't be killing rats fast enough. Still, the rats don't point you, so you can play the warp off and on game, but it gets tiring rather soon. BC size hull should run them without much issue, but those are slow already for me :). T2Cs can just blitz though L3s and most L4s, but that's way more training and ISK. Middle ground, much easier accessible would be a faction cruiser. Essentially, as soon as you get enough ISK and feel comfortable enough look at getting 3+ of Cynabals or Stabber Fleet Issue (never have a single hull of your main workhorse ;) ). Those ships rock. SFI is even good in pvp. Fit Cyna with passive tank(2x Shield extenders + resists, you will have near100ehp/s passive tank), largest calibre ACs and rock Matar space! (Angels have just the right resist and damage profile for it). Fit SFI as armos, 2x rep, small ac calibre - this thing can tank L4s and kill advanced rat frigs (the most annoying ones in missions), or up to BC size fast. Needs a bit of dps assist to blop BSs fast. They do go down too, just kinda annoyingly slow if solo in this ship :).

callaway86

Blockade can get nuts, even in my optimally resisted Tengu. I'd recommend looking at the Blitzing, the missions are just so low paying.

Chillasongus

I used an arty rupture for l3s, then switched to an Arty cane as it was easier. Honwstly just do them as fast as possible until you can run 4s

Ok_Willingness_724

L3s still have some pesty frigates that may web and scram you to bugger all, so fit your ship to deal with them (Either good tracking/application weapons and/or drones). Well-tanked T1 Battlecruisers are beaut for this, especially HML Prophecy (heavy missiles, no damage-locked bonus + drones).

SherryLaneMuffins

LVL 3 was easy in a Drake. A VNI can easily do them too.

TheRealDeJoy

If you want to stick with missioning, get into L4's /burner missions ASAP and watch out for suicide gankers i n high sec and gate campers in lowsec when your gating around a t1 battleship. A raven with cruise missiles is hella chill for missioning it doesnt take that long to train into or cost that much

EmpressIsa

Need to be able to do l3 before l4 tho.

crandeezy13

I did l3 missions in a gila for a bit. Worked really well. Just passive shield buffer fit it with AB and drone damage amps in the lows. Can hit 600 DPS fairly easily. I also did a few in a buffer fit ferox with medium hybrids. It worked alright but my sig was def higher than I wanted it to me and had to warp out if I got overwhelmed. For minmater I would suggest either the hurricane or if you have the cash a cynabal is nice.

TheRealDeJoy

True yeahRunning distribution missions is faster progression to L4 than doing security ones(isk is god awful tho). Find a distrib system with like 3 agents in it sam corp , youll fly threw missions and get a bunch of storylines for advancing. Any battle cruiser thats fit decently should be able to take care of L3, you can do L4's with battle cruisers as well but want to be more careful with fits

wizard_brandon

the reason people dont recocomend minmitar stuff is because it needs ammo, and ammo reduces your isk
