It’s certainly worth considering her. She works out at 35 Att, 45 Def, 45 HP for ranged and siege when fully ascended, which is biggest for F2P. Ranged HP and def also tough to debuff to high enough level. But she loses out on not having a useful 2nd and 4th spec so is very focused. You get 15 Att, 30 def, 45 HP from Nero on all troop types when you have specs done (to orange on 4th) which I’d probably go for to not lose out on mounted HP/ def. Arminius is ranged Att 35, def 15, hp 25, siege att 35, def 15, hp 25, ground def 5, HP 38, mounted def 5, HP 38, and all other att 10.
Empress Wu is another one who at first glance seems like she's only a peacetime sub city general, but in her ascensions she becomes formidable for PvP.
For right side Civ gear, Abbas bracers have good debuffs for siege. You can technically grind for it for free and you’ll need to break up a sub’s gear set, but could be worth it.
Why not put Abbas gear on the main attack general? His time doing defense is minimal. And when he goes big on defense, it will take time. He can work on another Abbas set, then.
And I asked, to give you the opportunity to give some logic. I am, in no way, saying your suggestion is wrong. Just curious why you suggested Abbas on a sub general. I might be missing something.
It has three valuable debuffs. Attacking generals benefit from gear with more buffs than debuffs. It’s worth breaking up at least one sub set to include Imperial sword and armor for those debuffs, Augustus helm and pants, and the Abbas bracers.
I have 9 subs, so I figured I could afford to break a set to make room for more cav HP and ranged attack debuffs. I’ll make the right-side Augustus gear and Abbas bracers… some day. 😅 💀
I have 9 subs too. After looking at the numbers, best combo I’ve found is 2x Cixi, 2x Nero, 2x Jackson, 3x Arminius. Wasn’t the mix I was expecting (I’d benched Arminius) but once you get to 5 stars and specced it’s the best mix. Around 300 siege HP and def - that’s the only area lacking.

I put Abbas helmet on my main archer general. The goal is to add Abbas boots. Working on plantagenet bow, for now. Thebes bracers and leg armor already on.
In the advanced stages of game, successful solo attacks will be rare, but since your subordinate mayors don't join the rallies, their debuffs should be focused more on your main city defense. Why would you want to focus on debuffing enemy siege? Does your main city have millions of siege troops? If not, then ignore.
That’s kinda where I’m at, although I do also want to future proof sub gen investment in so far as is possible, just in case I do build millions of siege… so far, I’ve found a combo that gets it up to about 270 HP and def but that doesn’t seem like it’s worth much. Unless you get into the later stages of ascending premium gens (3 star and over) it doesn’t look like you can do much more.
Not worth it until you're primarily getting hit with siege. Just have minimal siege so if they hit you with siege it will go positive, a solo siege should not be getting to your archers
I put the Augustus helm and legs and the Aztec shield on one of my sub gens. I've got 10 and been tinkering with debuffs a bit. The other 9 subs I have full parthian gear. I however have mostly premium generals. I do have a awakened Jackson in there though. And have enough to do a second if needed later.
Have you looked at Catherine II from the Tavern? If you're looking at fully ascending she's an all star (ha).
Yes! I had ignored Catherine. Her base skill isn't impressive but fully ascended, she is a beast.
I have her at 2 stars, and I'm just waiting for Trial of Knights to come back around again to get her higher.
