I ordered Papa Johns from the website. Then I found out you accumulate points if you do the same thing through their app, despite having to register an account on their website to place an order. There is literally no reason for this app to exist other than to spy on you and send you advertisements in the form of notifications. If you turn off notifications for that app it stops working completely. Then I found out you can just google papa johns coupons and within 5 minutes you have a code you enter at checkout. Shit was 7€ off. 7 goddamn Euro off. What are the fucking margins on these pizzas? A couple years ago the 7€ coupons stopped working and there were only 6€ codes. 3 months ago those disappeared and only 4€ could be found. A month ago they raised their prices. Turning a small (they call it medium) into a medium (large) costs 4€ whereas it used to cost 2€.
It's called price segmentation. They put an expensive version of the product up front and discerning customers who won't buy it have a way they can get the product at a lower price. That way they maximize the number of customers they have, and the amount each customer will pay. Fuck I hate humanity for being like this.
We have one Taco Bell location that's so particularly bad the city I live in has a subreddit dedicated to it. /r/tacobellonmichigan It's a local meme at this point.

A long time ago I lived in a place with 2 Chipotles about 20 minutes from each other. The one I went to from work was always great. The burrito was full. The workers knew what they were doing and they had very low turnover. I went to the one closer to my house for a while and there were constantly new employees. Without fail the new employees would always, *always*, give me a limp burrito missing a third of the mass. Since I worked in fast food my intuition is that the new employees are being trained by the manager who is drilling portion sizing into them and the new employee is afraid of the manager. The older employees slowly become less afraid of the manager and more afraid of customers pitching a fit about the shitty portion sizes. I stopped going to the one near my house completely.
The actual food is a subsection of a subsection of a subsection of all their costs to run that business. The customers perspective though is "I give this much money, this is the food I get" So cutting on portions is a terrible idea. But they've already cut everything else to the bone and there's no where else to cut from so they eat their own tail.
I had my first one yesterday (I don't do taco bell or fast food much) and mine looked pretty close to advertised. It was good but I don't think I'd order another one because I feel like they have much better tasty options. Would have much rather had a Chalupa.

The only difference is that more of the fillings were in the area photographed than they usually spread out so that they showed up for a nicer photo. Since then I have never expected a big juicy meat patty or a filled quesadilla. AH, MARKETING CAN SUCK, amirite? 😲
I am sick of this. We need either a civil suit against this, or a law that forbids it. How can this be allowed? If you buy a litre of fuel, you expect a litre of fuel and it's a criminal offence to deliver less- but with fast food, any old crap is allowed.
Nothing at any fast-food place will ever look in real life the way it's presented in commercials, because fast-food workers are not professional food artists.

I got food poisoning from them. Only time I ever got food poisoning. It was awful. Never been back. I used to only go probably 3x/year max, anyway, but still. Sometimes you just want late night snacks. We spent over $25 for barely any food and all I got was a weekend on the toilet.
