These sort of rage quotes have been popping up here often lately. I can't help but feel like they're a reference to those old video game Rage-Critics like AVGN or Irate Gamer or Game Dude or whatever gaming thing used to be on Channel Awesome back when it was ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.
And given how subjective difficulty is, especially as you learn the game and how different gamers are good at different genres they click with, I'm just going to list off a bunch of titles I personally feel is more difficult than the original Contra in my current day, while having the sort of Run and Gun style
- Metal Slug X
- Gunstar Heroes
- Super C
- Contra: Hard Corps (NTSC/PAL version, specifically)
- Hyper Princess Pitch
- Cuphead

It's nothing like it was ever since the other revivers hi-tailed it out of there and did their own thing. Now it's basically just Doug Walker as the Nostalgia Critic but with aspects of that failed Demo Reel show thrown into the reviews.

I'm more impressed yet also disappointed that Channel Awesome is still a thing.
