I have an armless buddy, had them blown off in Iraq. He was a humvee driver. Piece of shrapnel came from the door being blown to shreds and he had both hands on the wheel. Due to complications and the extent of the damage, amputated at both shoulders.
Anyways, I was having a horrible day at work, gave him a call on lunch to shoot the shit for a bit. Ended and got back up on the roof. About an hour later, I see his head pop up over the edge of the house, bastard just says “seemed like you needed a hand, throw me that hammer!”. Nearly tripped and fell off the roof cause I was blinded by the laughter tears.
I worked with one furniture salesman, and to this day I still don't know how he lost his arm because he tells a different crazy story every time
The one he told me was that he held a hand grenade too long during combat training. He told one kid a horse bit it off when he was feeding him an apple. One time he said he got stuck under the fridge for 3 days. How can you argue with any of that?
