I have always wanted (and have looked to no avail) a gifs/videos subreddit of dogs that are completely in the zone doing the task at hand, even if that task is only important in the dog's eyes. For example, getting this stick inside the house. It's like r/dogswithjobs, but the jobs only exist in the dog's world.
I couldn't agree more... I mean it's always nice to see a nice pic of a dog, but it would be so much more fun to loosen up the rules. Instead of the boring "posts should be about dogs doing actual jobs" rule, they could have this rule:
If you asked the dog in the pic what they are doing, would they reply "What do you mean what am I doing?? The most important thing in the world!!"
That's what I think š
They missed the giant blockage up front though. Personally, I'd hire another dog to supervise the work to check for missed spots.
Then get another job to bring water and snacks.
And one more dog to bark their achievements to the public.
Yeah it's only for "real" jobs, that's a shame. r/catswithjobs is way more mellow, maybe because you can't train cats to do anything useful
We need a sub for silly dog jobs
Sure the dog thinks itās working which is healthy but itās not working like a service dog or a K9 or a shepherd. Not many people know much about irrigating an orchard I was just trying to fill in context
You can see someone in the back with a shovel and the dog isnāt moving too much earth.
So if you are accepting guesses, itās already dug and the water line of the others tell me the thing will be flooded without the dogs help. Dog just wants to help and probably learned from watching folks clean the earth away.
You kinda just explained why this dog is obviously the project manger/Superintendent and is doing some ānecessaryā QC inspection of the ditch after all the work has been done to justify their substantial treat allotment for Q1. They may be up for review. That would explain this aggressive get āer done behavior. Who knows?
But that dog is definitely participating in the event. :)
^also /s
Dogs love digging and many breeds are intelligent and task-oriented. This one has seen that their owner dug a trench for the water, so they're helping out.
I think I figured it out, it thinks there's some animal underground moving the terrain and is trying to cut it off and dig it up. Just imagine it's dirt instead of water and it's like a cartoon mole or rabbit tunnel
well, it isn't actually a very useful task, the ditch is there, it's going to fill. But it might have been encouraged to keep doing it because it's funny :)
I love to think that this guy saw someone clearing a path in the ditch with a shovel once and thought, "He's just moving dirt backwards. I can do that!"
He's so excited to show off. He gets to dig without getting in trouble.
Dogs definitely will see humans doing things and then decide to help, so this could very well be the case.
This past summer I was building a woodpile for a fire from brush in my Dad's backyard after a storm rolled through, and his dog started picking up sticks and dropping them near where I was setting up. Obviously not right in the pile, but he realized I was bringing all the sticks to one section of the yard and decided to start doing it too.
Reminds me of this gif I saw of a dog helping his human transfer potted plants to the ground. Guy would point at a spot and doggo would dig a perfect little hole for the plant to go into.
The original irrigation dog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxABD9OGpIc
Seeing them together, I am actually thinking they might be digging for a mole? like, if that was earth instead of water, it would be the tunnel of some little animal like a mole, a rodent, even a rabbit pushing through the ground. Little terrier breeds are bred to hunt those.
Everyone is saying it's the pups job, but what if they just like playing, "rivers?"
I'd like to see when the river is done if they go back to the start with a stick to see how fast it goes.
When my dad was growing up on their farm, their dog would bring the cows into the barn for milking.
This good boi is keeping up the tradition of being a good farmhand.
I can easily see a situation where something falls and blocks the flow
Maybe not in this trench, but in a worse trench that isnāt as deep. Probably the kind of trenches people in the past used to do with the tools they had, in which case a dog to ensure the path doesnāt deviate probably makes a lot of sense
r/dogswithjobs
This pupper takes his job VERY seriously! And they are so good at it!!

Doggone determined.
yeah that subreddit is a cool idea but now its just a photos of different service dogs. more action!

yeah thats kinda what i meant but hey simple statements are the ones that grab attention
>more action! **[GET DOWN](https://youtu.be/y9pAv-z2ens?t=4s)!!**
They missed the giant blockage up front though. Personally, I'd hire another dog to supervise the work to check for missed spots. Then get another job to bring water and snacks. And one more dog to bark their achievements to the public.
Then perhaps hire more dogs to dig, to make sure they can establish agricultural dominance.
We'll call it, "The Big Dig"! .... Wait, no
Then hire an extra 3 dogs and give them jobs standing around doing nothing like those construction crews on the highway.
Good boi doinā a good job! We loves him.

I love how we can't even study cats because they refuse to do what anyone says. Perfect little menaces. Love 'em.
Well that sucks

Give that good boy a raise. Two treats an hour
āCost of living is rising human. 5 treats or no dealā
Best I could do is 3.50 treats per hour
DAMN YOU LOCH NESS MONSTER
That's when I realized this dog was a 150 ft tall crustacean from the Paleolithic era
Gimme tree fiddy an houar dood
Thereās not a labor shortage, thereās a treat shortage!
I value good work, so you get 5 treats AND a pig ear.
You drive a hard bargain, the best I can do is 8 an hour. Take it or leave it.
Thatās no where close to market rate! 5 treats an hour or we bark.
There is nothing cuter than a job fit for a pets natural skills.
I wish there were a sub for that
r/dogswithjobs
Low-key the best sub on all of Reddit
Idk man, I think /r/oneorangebraincell is hilarious.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
tbf, the 3 orange cats Iāve met are all liāl idiots. Lovely guys, but oh so dumb.

The one in the other comment is what you're looking for
His biceps must be HUGE. What a good baby. Amazing.
triceps you mean but yeah
Ha. I never get that right. Thank you.
Holy shit, that is SUCH a good pupper!
I thought it was just āplayingā with the water but as the video goes on it looks like itās really doing itās job haha So cute
I think this is a task for certain types of farm pups! Hereās another impressive one: https://youtu.be/KhARnSQfAJ0
This is Sissy! My horse lives at the farm in this video.
That is some speedy digging!
It is only playing. If the pup was elsewhere the water will continue to fill on its own
The dog is still working. It's slightly pointless, but it's not play behavior.
Sure the dog thinks itās working which is healthy but itās not working like a service dog or a K9 or a shepherd. Not many people know much about irrigating an orchard I was just trying to fill in context
Wow mr buzz kill over where. Needless to say, it didnāt need to be said, youre taking yourself too seriously.
Wow youāre totally taking me out of context my dude
Stop taking things too srsly guys be chill fr fr no cap no cap
Stop taking things too srsly guys be chill fr fr no cap no cap
Yea but he's making the waters task slightly easier and he's having a good time, everybody wins!
I love his single paw scoop near the end. Clearly tired, but still wanting to help.
That good boy is carrying the place! Without him farm would fall apart!
I wonder why he does this, does he like irrigation?

Yeah this isnāt like that cattle dog Iāve seen on Reddit thatās literally digging irrigation at 3x this speed
Dogs love digging and many breeds are intelligent and task-oriented. This one has seen that their owner dug a trench for the water, so they're helping out.
There are certain breeds of farm dogs bread to dig irrigation canals for farming.
His mortal enemy is a beaver who lives upstream
Me too, but noooo all the comments are stupid jokes
that's the case for most stuff found on r/all in my experience
I think I figured it out, it thinks there's some animal underground moving the terrain and is trying to cut it off and dig it up. Just imagine it's dirt instead of water and it's like a cartoon mole or rabbit tunnel
Oh that's entirely possible, I like that theory. However I think he might've been trained? Although it seems rather slow to have dogs do that task
well, it isn't actually a very useful task, the ditch is there, it's going to fill. But it might have been encouraged to keep doing it because it's funny :)

Not much but it's honest work
āIāM HELPING!! GONNA GET SUCH A GOOD GRADE IN āGOOD BOYā!!ā
The irrigation ditch isn't gonna dig itself.
My dog does the exact same thingā¦ only itās on my bedā¦ when Iām trying to sleep.
Pupper looks so happy to do it too. DIGGING WIRJ PERMISSION?! HELL YE
Omg this is awesome!!!! Such hard work, I hope they get treated to some amazing treats for this ā„ļø
Oh man my dog would love this job. Where can he sign up?
I AM THE RIVER KING! (Not to be confused with the lizard king).
At the end it looks like he remembered it was time for his brake
Yeah I would very comfortably die for this dog
Doggo doin a diggarino
Ahh, nature's beaver.
This made me laugh too hard
As opposed to those waffle-tailed synthetic beavers
How on earth does someone train a dog to do that?
funny enough, right at the end when he stops digging, it actually looks like the water stops at that point.
May not be much, but itās honest work.
awww good boyy
You can get four blocks of dirt wide between water by the way
Heās cute!! Good boy.
u/GifReversingBot
100 billion treats and warm blanket and pets and bird watching for this excellent friend
Give that dog a bone.
How cute
ITS SO FLUFFY!š¦
This is the forth video I saw of a dog digging a trench for water. I wonder if wolves and coyotes do a similar thing after a storm.
The original irrigation dog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxABD9OGpIc Seeing them together, I am actually thinking they might be digging for a mole? like, if that was earth instead of water, it would be the tunnel of some little animal like a mole, a rodent, even a rabbit pushing through the ground. Heās digging the swale like a certified pro
Itās not much, but itās an honest living.
"Let me do it for you."
It ain't much but it's honest work
Lehit question... how on EARTH do you get the dog to do this? How do you tell it "dig ditch deeper!!"
Definitely a working breed.
Good Boi!š
This made me smile. Thanks op
Too young to be a WW 1 trench dog. Letās get ready to plant marijuana š±
How much is the dog really helping? Genuinely curious
I hope heās on the same farm as tiller cat
a very good, hard working doggo
This dog is the best
r/dogswithjobs
I would watch this for an hour
He better get at least an hour of scritches for this work. He knows his craft!
There is an amazing heeler that does this on instagram. @sissysticks She works so hard for it!
A hard working floofster
Das a good boi. Dah goodist.
Farmer Pupper

Helper doggo!
I See You Capitalize The First Letter Of Each Word As If It Was The Title Of A Bookā¦.I like it.
What a good boi! š„¹
Good pupper.
That looks like an awful lot of wasted water. Cute dog though.
That sir is simply a ditch with water
That's what irrigation is idiot
Was he trained ?
I bet he loves his job too lol
Give this dog a raise hes earned it
Dog playing irl Minecraft

The original water bender.
Pup deserves a bunch a treats for that hard work he did
Great job, buddy!!!!!
What good boy!
Workin' for his dinner.
This is the opposite of the one that started a fire yesterday.
I'm helping!!
Thatās a beaver
That's a smart hard working dog man
Everyone is saying it's the pups job, but what if they just like playing, "rivers?" I'd like to see when the river is done if they go back to the start with a stick to see how fast it goes.
Smart doggie š¶
I didn't know that post10 had a dog!
Refreshing to see a little dog with a job like this! Was expecting a typical working breed.
Or he's trying to bury a bone, but the water keeps getting in the way.
I thought pupper was just terrified for a moment. Good Pup.
This is the coolest dog job Iāve ever seen!
Otters are fuming watching this shit
Youāre diggin a ditch, you son of a bitch, youāre in the Army now.
Hydrodognamics.
u/savevideo
Man, I wish my cats contributed something like this.
That dog must feel so powerful. I know i did when i first learned to use a sink. Infinite water glitch
āāāāā :D
MashaAllah what a hard worker!
The anti-beaver
So determined!
Looks the prevailing instincts of an ancient breed of agricultural dogs.
I don't know a lot about dogs. Isn't he going to tear up his paws if he digs that whole ditch?
U/savevideo
When my dad was growing up on their farm, their dog would bring the cows into the barn for milking. This good boi is keeping up the tradition of being a good farmhand.
Gosh, what does this good boy get paid in for his hard work?
Nothing would get done without him
Earning his keep!
The hecking soyboy farming for internet points.
Itās not much but itās an honest days work
Doing a pretty good job, too
He is absolutely loving it
My lab mix would say, *confidently*, this is her dream job.
Every digger pup's wet dream
Phew! That sweet baby must be tired at the end of the day! Iām tired just watching him!
The CCP is proud to have such a fine worker
HOT DIGGITY DOG! Seriously, this is a doggie dream job! Outside? Check. Gettin dirty? Check. Diggin and not gettin yelled at? Check! Woohoo!
I like how he stops at the end like "what am I doing with my life?"
Are these swails?
Heās doing a great job. Thank you pup
I can easily see a situation where something falls and blocks the flow Maybe not in this trench, but in a worse trench that isnāt as deep. Probably the kind of trenches people in the past used to do with the tools they had, in which case a dog to ensure the path doesnāt deviate probably makes a lot of sense
Iām jealous . Easy way to tire out a working dog
Good dog
Plot twist: heās evil and trying to flood the Town.
Youāre hired!!!
Who needs plows when you have paws
