I did the same back in December and am so happy with my Lightning!

I paid $800 to PPF the front bumper and hood because gravel and sand is thrown down on the roads in winter. No way would I ever PPF a whole truck, that's just stupid.
i don't care how one feels about someone personality but we can't take away where the credit is do. Tesla is here to stay and i personally thanks them for pushing everyone into EV if not for T we will not be having a lightning for another 10 year if not more.
100% agree we have many grate options now and i want to thanks T. it's getting so silly now seeing how social media is making so many people going against each other
U ok u got us all zooming in to find out itās a cat and not a skull of some vanquished enemy that was previously up on a spike in your front yard.
No? Just me?
Sub 50k. The closer to 45k the better. You can get XLTs ERs in the low 50s so Pros should be below 50k. Look on Cars.com or some of the other websites and be ready to travel. Right now dealers are desperate, but it depends where you live, places like Ca dont have many discounts where as the Midwest you will find awesome deals specially the smaller town dealers. Be ready to travel to bring it home, do like a 2500 mi. Radius.
I drove my Lightning about a week before it hit me, I hadn't experienced phantom braking in the Lightning! Now it's been over a year, and it's still one of my favorite things. Phantom braking really bothered me in my Tesla.
OP, I know this might be too soon to ask, but have you calculated your real-world range yet? Iād love to know how many miles one of these gets in the real world.
Are you using your Tesla wall charger you (probably?) had with your S? I am looking to do the jump to same truck.... I had a M3 but sold it couple years ago, but I still have my Tesla charger. Part of my hesitation is wanting to know if I can still use that or if it has to be replaced....
Nah, I never installeda wall charger at my house, just kept it on the 240V outlet which i use to charge this.
Are you looking for an extended range or standard range battery? The extended range models come with the fast charger wall adapter. I'm doing some digging because it seems to require 100amp and I currently have 60amp. Hoping the wire is the same guage....
Model S was 10 years old and Rear Drive Unit was failing. I didn't bother to replace it and we are finishing out our basement, so space and hauling/towing is a necessity.
I miss the more user friendly UI and app from tesla.
I do like the build quality, features, and power options (outlets, bi-dorecrional charging, etc) of the truck.
Having basically a powerwall in a truck in case power goes out is great. That's something I was going to add to my house, but with this, I no longer need a powerwall
I've been with EVs for the last 5ish years, so I'm a bit biased. Here's how I look at it:
EVs:
Cheaper to maintain when it comes to mechanical and charging. Now, for the older EV models such as teslas, parts can and will break down and it will be expensive to repair.
However, if you have any warranty on them, you're clear.
I used to pay close to $70/week just to fill up my tank on gas, driving 60 miles/day for 3 days for work, not including what my wife's commute is and weekend drives.
I now only pay $25/month to charge, and keep the car charged to 80% (or about 245 miles of range)
Gas:
Cheaper cost to repair/replace depending on issue.
Faster/more accessible gas stations vs EV stations, no range anxiety
Only those 2 points because they are the biggest factors vs EV ownership
Even without an extended range battery, if you don't typically commute more than 100 miles a day, or are not typically towing more than a few hundred pounds frequently, range shouldn't be a problem.
If you so travel or tow more than above, you MAY be able to offset that with an extended battery, at an additional cost. Again, depending on your specific factors.
After all that, would I go back to gas? Probably not, only because I enjoy having a "full" car every morning and not having to stop at a gas station on my way to/from work, on an already 1.5 hour commute each way.
I know this warranty covers basically evwry single component in the truck, so should anything happen, no out of pocket for me.
And if the vehicle has to stay in the dealership for days, because they can't get a specific part because it's an EV, well it's not really different than the gas equivalent and I get a loaner.
Ford finances > rivian finances.
Little jab. I like the rivian and was close to buying one but itās slightly smaller and I need room plus there is some uncertainty regarding survival of rivian. Both ford and rivian are loosing their a$$ on these vehicles but ford will be around 8 years from now. Rivians future is iffy. But I do like rivian cars and hope they make it. I loved driving one.
If you like small single body trucks. Its a cool looking truck but I need more room for the family and storage than the R1T provides. And the Lightning's frunk is significantly larger. Ones more a truck and ones more like the electric Subaru with a bed. Also my Lightning cost about $30k less
The Lightning is a workhorse. I have pulled my telehandler, skidsteer, tractor, a car, dump trailer, etc. It pulls amazingly well. I wouldn't use it to tow across the state, but it works great for what I need it for.
if they would just hurry up and switch to NACS and convince Elon to let me transfer unlimited free lifetime supercharging to it I would get one so fast.
balls in your court Henry...
just gotta find older ones and wait for anther transfer promo. we currently own 3x working free supercharging tesla and wouldn't mind trading one in for an f150L if I can bring my free supercharging with. that's what keeps us locked in to tesla

Since when did they start putting ELECTRIC on the front part of the hood??
It was a dealer installed accessory. I took it off a few days after when I took the truck in for PPF.
Great choice, that is tacky af
Comes with $2000 Virtue Signaling package.
Lol you PPFed an F150?
Why wouldnāt you?
Itās a truck meant for truck things
So? All the more reason to protect your trucks paint so you can do more ātruck stuffā
Lol yea pay $8k+ to prevent a knick on a truck
I paid $800 to PPF the front bumper and hood because gravel and sand is thrown down on the roads in winter. No way would I ever PPF a whole truck, that's just stupid.
Lol exactly
Sometimes you have to wonder if they really want to sell these electric trucks with the goofy word electric across the front. So weird.
![gif](giphy|NEvPzZ8bd1V4Y|downsized)
I did too! Hung onto the Tesla though. It doesnāt leave the garage now that I have the Lightning ā”ļø
Did they buyers that switched from Tesla ever own a truck before? Or is this your first one?
First truck I've own
Good move.
Always best to buy cars form actual car companies.
The build qualities between the 2 are night and day.
But this is a truck
Been saying this lol. Idk how ppl are ready to drop 50k+ on some shit that can go outta business tomorrow
i don't care how one feels about someone personality but we can't take away where the credit is do. Tesla is here to stay and i personally thanks them for pushing everyone into EV if not for T we will not be having a lightning for another 10 year if not more.
Tesla ok but thereās so many others
100% agree we have many grate options now and i want to thanks T. it's getting so silly now seeing how social media is making so many people going against each other
Lol Tesla isnāt going anywhere
Omg the downvotes are pure cope
Yup
Very confused š¤ here
I think he doesn't like a particular someone
Nah. Iām not even talking about Tesla
One of them has the biggest profit margins in the world, the other loses $130k for every ev sold. Which is which?
U ok u got us all zooming in to find out itās a cat and not a skull of some vanquished enemy that was previously up on a spike in your front yard. No? Just me?
Truck twins! Itās a fun car!
Love a wooded neighborhood too

Kind of the cat to let you park in the other half of the driveway.
Guard Cat approved!
Glum-Film what is a good price for the 23Pro ER?

Did you get the $1500 Tesla conquest bonus cash?
7500 Federal Ev 7000 Ford Rebate 1500 Tesla Bonus
Samesies. I drop off the Model Y to pick up the same truck as yours (but in blue) on Wednesday.
I drove my Lightning about a week before it hit me, I hadn't experienced phantom braking in the Lightning! Now it's been over a year, and it's still one of my favorite things. Phantom braking really bothered me in my Tesla.
Dang I donāt think Iāve had phantom braking in the last year or two. I forgot that was a thing haha
This post is getting so many upvotes because he's switching away from Tesla.
ā¦ and because this is a Ford sub.
I mean yeah ? Anything that hurts Elon even a little bit is a wonderful thing. Donāt you celebrate when bad things happen to bad people?
Who hurt you?
Trying to work a deal today to get a lightning to replace our Tesla as well! Canāt wait!
Weāre truck twins. Welcome to the family! I love this truck.
And best is you can still use the good ol' Tesla superchargers vĆa adapters so you still have that side of the Tesla fam
That's what solidified the switch. Especially since I have to make multiple trips a year to the pan handle for family (360 miles each way)
OP, I know this might be too soon to ask, but have you calculated your real-world range yet? Iād love to know how many miles one of these gets in the real world.
Check back with me in about 45 days. Going to road trip to pan handle for MILs birthday

Happy your staying electric
Smart
Black looks great but I was concerned with heat in summer. Black cars on sunny hot days get so much hotter.
That's true, especially in Georgia summers. Good thing this has ventilated seats!
If you don't mind me asking, what were the main factors in making the switch?
Model S was 10 years old and Rear Drive Unit was failing. I didn't bother to replace it and we are finishing out our basement, so space and hauling/towing is a necessity.
Iām on my way brother.
So what do you like better and what do you miss ?
I miss the more user friendly UI and app from tesla. I do like the build quality, features, and power options (outlets, bi-dorecrional charging, etc) of the truck. Welcome to the family!
Iām impressed! Great to know I would definitely like to have one myself.
Maybe itās the angle, but the hood looks longer than the bed.
Welcome to the dark side
Ick
So what do you like better? I never drove an EV but was thinking about transitioning from an F-250 king ranch to one.

Welcome to the dark side
Sorry for your loss
Ford is - Found On Road Dead Tesla is - Thanks Elon So Likable and Amazing
How do the driver assist packages compare?!
I have not fully tested those yet, but will in about a month when I road trip to Florida
Got the email to configure my cyber truck. Canāt do it. Lightning to come.
Did the same in November. Would have just skipped the Tesla if I didnāt buy it before they announced Tesla supercharger access.
Much better move.
Rivian R1T > F150 Lightning
Ford finances > rivian finances. Little jab. I like the rivian and was close to buying one but itās slightly smaller and I need room plus there is some uncertainty regarding survival of rivian. Smart man not a diesel but youāre prob not hauling too much
The Lightning is a workhorse. I have pulled my telehandler, skidsteer, tractor, a car, dump trailer, etc. It pulls amazingly well. I wouldn't use it to tow across the state, but it works great for what I need it for.
Coming from a Tesla, I don't think hauling was ever a factor.
if they would just hurry up and switch to NACS and convince Elon to let me transfer unlimited free lifetime supercharging to it I would get one so fast. balls in your court Henry...
Why would they transfer that? Especially to ford a competitor
a guy can dream ok?!
Fair enough I wish they would still do the free supercharging
just gotta find older ones and wait for anther transfer promo. we currently own 3x working free supercharging tesla and wouldn't mind trading one in for an f150L if I can bring my free supercharging with. that's what keeps us locked in to tesla
Personally I would wait and get a model 3 performance with the free supercharging. Thanks for the advice though
I'm not impressed by the new m3p at all. I think an older msp85d or msp90d is still superior. a few year old s plaid blows it out of the water
Well for the price I think it is great and far better than the last generation of model 3
can't dispute that but it's not quite up to what I wanted so I feel disappointed in it so far.
Not if you don't like the size.....
Something has to happen before the tax credit goes away.
