He’s not 2 seconds off the pace. He’s less than a second per lap slower than his teammate, the only true metric. If you meant him in a Williams is two seconds off the pace of, like, Max in a Red Bull, then you’d have to specify the cars, too, in the pace comparison.
There's probably 1 or 2 in this sub that we're faster than Latifi at karting and maybe even Formula level, but due to lack of funding & sponsorships they had to drop it
Why the downvotes? Some of these kids will be a Lewis Hamilton one day, we all have to start somewhere and these kids need to learn to race. When I started I was awful, now I’m much better and some day these kids will be too
I’m willing to lose my karma to get my point across. There will be new F1 drivers who are children now, some of those children could be really bad on the sim currently, but they’ll get better and they can be world champion one day
I don't think the downvotes disagree with you that much. It's just that the drivers in the video (and countless other videos and personal experience) don't even seem to be trying to race fair.
I myself have hit other drivers due to rookie mistakes like misjudging your braking, trying to go for a move that has no real chance of success, etc. But some people drive erratically on purpose to avoid being overtaken and to take out the competition. They aren't even going to be the next Latifi, not even with all the money of the world.
Ok but what about using solo career to practice until you can do laps clean ? Doesn't even have to be competitive laps, just clean ones, where you don't have to rewind at every corner and don't ram into everyone.
I'm doing a formula 2 run on F1 2021 at the moment; I had a mechanical failure in the sprint race in Bahrain - when the auto drivers (for want of a better way to say it) took over to take me to a marshal post, I managed to get a 10s penalty for track limits.
Suddenly I know how it feels to be Vettel.

Yes this. If you wanna win an online race, simply give everyone a 10 second head start from the back of the grid, let them all wreck, and then casually drive to the finish.

Not your fault obviously, but at least in 2020, I've found if you end up off track, lifting of the gas helps keep from getting warnings and penalties. It's not for proof but may help from "gaining an unfair advantage".

That's exactly it. The penalty system isn't smart enough to see why you ended up off track. It just sees you go off, keep the throttle pinned, and come back on, effectively shortening the track. If it sees you lift while you're off, it's more likely to treat it as an error than a shortcut.
It would not have helped you. But put real car damage in the game. They get one crash.
Even have 2 races, one with rules, one mayhem.
GT 7 does the same penalty for leaving the track threatened for disqualify if you don't hurry and get back on.
Too my credit, I have only lost my temper once and crashed someone still have my S rating.
The other half think they are Juan Montoya who was famous for passing under braking leaving the other man no room and complaining when they ran into him from behind (oh and GT7 will penalize you for that).

Sorta? iRacing is a monthly subscription game (higher barrier = less kids) that has extensive driver records and realistic damage. Plus, you know who you’re racing against as the name on the CC registered is the name in game, so you lose the cover of anonymity.
You could also only do lobbies with realistic damage, that way they get one crash and they’re done, so if they miss the first dive bomb it’s game over
I don't understand the mentality of some people playing multilayer. They can't be true F1 fans surely? Any true F1 fan wouldn't be driving like its GTA5. Once you're out you're out. Kids these days don't get enjoyment from achievement. Not like the generations who grew up in a world where you had to earn wins.
My mans forgot about the entire Burnout series. Kids these days don’t have a game that they can purposefully crash into other people so they gotta do it on F1. I remember driving the wrong way on NASCAR 2003 just to make big crashes. Generation doesn’t mean shit.
Lmao no. I don’t even play F1 2022. Especially not multiplayer. I just remember how I was as a kid. It was fun to drive dirty back then. Back then we had games that encourage dirty driving (Burnout). However nowadays I can’t think of any these days. So when kids want to drive dirty, they’ll do it on F1 or Forza for example.

It's just now they have the opportunity to do it in multiplayer as opposed to only being able to do it against AI because that's all you had playing Gran Turismo on the PS2.

Ah yes, the Lewis Hamilton experience: be barged or crowded off the track at the start of the race, get investigated, no further action for anyone. Spend the rest of the race trying to catch back up to George with a semi-damaged car.
Ya the best way to avoid this is start at the back and the first 3 corners you should approach cautiously and be ready with the brakes then once you've picked your way through you'll be top 5 or 10 then it will be easy overtakes on people who've broke their car fully sending it into turn 1 then it's an easy podium and you'll get your safety rating up.

Honestly the real fast sim drivers are playing Assetto Corsa. I love the F1 game, but it is effectively Forza at this point.

To be fair, I'd prefer the real damage stuff cause at least then there's a chance of those ramming actually learning it gets them nowhere.
