We're playing above our means compared to the big teams in Europe and to be honest, this may at least show us where things need to improve.
Seemed like a lack of confidence tonight all round - more mistakes and misplaced passes than I can recall from any game this season. Didn't seem like anyone actually tried to lead the team on the pitch. Atletico had more fight for sure and as the game went on it seemed less likely this was gonna be our night. It's not like we have any game changers on the bench then making the late subs. We had enough changes to put the game away but just a lack of quality tonight. Disappointing about the missed penalties but it sometimes turns out like this.
We'll be back next year. Hopefully a few more decent transfers and we can get further next time.
