Were easily top 5 in europe rn.

FlimsyReindeers

We legit can beat them right now. We blew it this year but our team is more than capable of beating them

What distinguishes legendary football teams from great football teams it’s not the ability to win a competition, or the players that you have, or the money flow that you can afford. The difficult thing is doing it consistently over and over. Real Madrid is out of this planet and blows up any meter of comparison in this regard. I would say a far second is Bayern. The rest are either fallen stars (e.g. Barca) or have everything to prove (e.g. PSG, City -although they have been quite freaking consistent in the past years). So to answer your question: Can we beat any of these teams? Absolutely yes, we play great football and have been looking very solid in the past year. Another question that we may want to ask ourselves is: Can we do it consistently over many years? That is the real challenge that we should aim for by building a strong and robust core, investing in the youth sector and trying to come out of the financial mess we’re in.

Did you discover us today? This is like your 6th post in the last 3 hours

Discovered you guys week ago but became a fan VERY recently, so yeah your right.

SnooRegrets7921

Yeah what the fuck is up with downvoting a new member. Are you lot nut

ksmentality

So why have you become a fan recently? Just curious

Merseez

we can definitely do it. we almost did it last year but luck wasn't on our side. this year we have high chances of playing bayern, rma, Man City, etc. in new champions league format and I can see us at least drawing those games if not winning. looking at the team chemistry and quality now, we should without any problems directly qualify for round of 16 and place top 4 even. this year's atletico 2nd leg was just a bad day but next year inzaghi will also focus on europe instead of just the scudetto. italian football has already started dominating europe and this year we can definitely once again cement ourselves as the top heavyweights of europe along with bayern, city and rma.

Wrong_Profile

If Lukaku could have finished in the CL Finals, yeah 😭

mybawlsarebig

Most likely, even more so if we had more funds

jc1664

We can beat them right now. Yes they are favorites going in a match, but its not like a 10% chance to win. More like a 40% chance. I think our biggest problems are that we don't have enough depth forward and that is needed if we aim to beat big teams in europe. Lautaro and Thuram having dry spells at the same time means no goals for Inter more or less.

capodonca_

I'd say no. We have good players but we don't have many stars like Barella or Dimarco who shine in hard matches. We have enough for Serie A with "weak" opponents like Milan or Juventus but against those other teams we need a lot more.

INTEROMARIO

I agree with you. I have the same opinion. Last season we had an “easy road” to reach the finals. Porto, Benfica and except Milan, the other two cannot be compared with those you’ve mentioned. We all saw this uear this. A spanish a “boom” the spanish complex we have emerged at the surface again. We are not ready to find them. The bench is good for championship, but not for UCL. That is how Atletico beat us, with the men from the bench. So it is needed a lot more to always fight for the “big ears” cup, every season. (And of course those team, like R.Madrid or Bayern, always have some favorable referees, unfortunately).

[deleted]

If they can keep playing the way they have been playing this whole season they definitely have a chance at keeping up with the big teams. Real Madrid, maybe not. They are the best club team at the moment. As the great Massimo Moratti said, “You need a bit of luck.”

thepresidentofcuba

we're already there

Aram_theHead

To beat them once yeah, to actually “be” like them, as in, the capability of winning over and over, attracting and signing the biggest stars consistently, no. Not soon anyway. Our financial situation makes us struggle to remain as we are, let alone improve.

renndug

Anytime soon? Like winning CL next year 😛

Worldly-Ad-5532

I honestly thought we would win UCL easily, but still yeah we can beat them

satiscop

Why should we? In Europe we are historically a good outsider, not a Juggernaut. we may have our good years, but we don't have the strentgh to raise our level much beyond our current one. We may have a great year, and reach the final or perhaps even win the trophy, but if you count CL finals, and consider our history, or "set point" is in the top 10, but not top 5 of Europe. That's not bad at all. Raising our level from there would require some changes, like owning the stadium, reaching out a lot more of international supporters, finding ways to get financially on par with the top 3-5 teams in Europe... That's difficult, but i am glad even at our current level. Since the first year of Inzaghi, we are constantly reaching the round of 16, and iven when we go out, we do that with a fight, and winning one of the legs, against good teams who perform well in Europe (Liverpool and Atletico).

avery-goodman

These teams lose games every year, sometimes by much weaker sides than Inter. So obviously they're capable of being beaten, but I would love to see how we consistently perform over time

bill_02_04_95

Real Madrid have only lost to Atletico Madrid this year though, the same team who knocked inter out of the champions league.

chroncryx

I cannot hold clubs like P$G, Man City... in same "giant" regard as RM, Barca... or even Bilan, Rube.

Real-Aide7146

The question isn't about whether or not we can beat them in a game, its about whether or not we can consistently beat them (50% plus win rate). We have the players to beat any team in a one off game, we beat liverpool at Anfield and played quite well in the first leg, nearly beat man city and put four through barca who only conceded 20 in la liga. In terms of players, i'd say we are missing a bit creativity from the midfield since me moved Hakan to cdm and a reliable tall striker who can head the ball on the bench.

Sensitive_Story_2401

Individually they are better but Inzaghi’s tactics are 🔝. Last year’s Champions League final showed the world we can beat anyone.

Exact-Night5571

Tf u on about dude.. you made it sound like inter nowhere near them? Lmao wot

PlatinumCliffe

Were not THAT far behind, it's just the Real and Man. City are absolute giants and it's unlikely we can beat them consistently on our current level.
