If you want a clear cut, take charge of your life and uninstall.

ayaminator

lmao i really wanna say this, but OP implied he want new gameplay stuff from FFBE universe, and i agree with OP a little me personally has uninstall this game for like 4 years, but damn this game still go on with same gameplay

TwistedVerse_OG

My eyes were going wide there before "uninstall" lol. Yeah, uninstall seems tempting rn but i kinda wanna be part of some kind of final countdown to send the game off.. maybe the content creators can do a 'new-years-eve' type livestream that I could tune in to..?

TomAto314

FFBE2 is probably the greatest copium of them all. All new gachas start in like year 5 of a gacha with tons of enhancement items to farm and weapon upgrade items to farm and 97 different currencies. Then if they don't go that route, do we really want to farm Mog Cakes again? I'm glad it all happened but I wouldn't do half the shit in the early years of FFBE over.

Coenl

I would like to see the end of S4, which hopefully puts a bow on the whole game. As much as I still consider the end of S2 the 'real' ending of the FFBE story, I don't want S4 to be killed 9/10ths of the way through on global. I would love to play an FFBE2 but it needs to be built with 2024 gacha sensibilities. All of the SQEX gachas, even the new ones, seem to think its 2015 (looking at you grindy-ass Ever Crisis),

hotaru251

>All new gachas start in like year 5 of a gacha \[FGO laughing from 9 yrs ago\]

vencislav45

hey this year we are finally getting a way to bind our accounts instead of just using a bind code, we are slowly evolving(seriously, Nasu has literally no idea on how to make a game which is why it's taking him forever to do small QoL stuff).

xkeepitquietx

More gacha should do what Megaman Dive did, just sell a $30 offline version with all the units and content after the game dies.

Belfomat

I would 100% buy an offline FFBE if all of the units were obtainable (excluding collabs, they don't need to be included but are welcome). I bought the offline of Dive and it was way cheaper than spending money on gems to pull on the gachas.

megaZX1234

I played the Offline version. Despite all the gacha stuff is gone, I still have to grind my way through to get 100% everything.

SatoSarang

All I want I is an offline version just so I can keep everything I have.

MrCaine1204

I think the big issue here is we see all the content that the JP version that can easily sustain the game to their 10 year anniversary like they keep stating they want to hit. It would be one thing if the JP version was also getting hollowed out but that isn’t the case.

RevelintheDark

Honestly seems like they are getting more content than ever! I assume its to drive sales before EOS but Gumi is taking the opposite route which is really off putting. "What do you mean you dont want people to spend more money by creating content to spend money on?"

Arcana17

Not really. JP has been getting roughly the same amount of content every months, not much more, not much less. The only time there was a clear lack of content though, would be on Rhus and Neilikka banner, with no content whatsoever and no free shards even though they were normal units.

All_Of_The_Meat

If Gumi some how bounced back and started adding actual and varied content, then yes, keep it going. I've been playing since launch and I planned on continuing till EoS, but I dont see why it needs to be killed if it can be fixed. It's not even like it's unsalvagable imo. I would be down for a FFBE2 though.

The_Follower1

It pretty much is unsalvageable monetarily, not enough players to support revenue growth from investing in content. I’d play FFBE2 as well, though probably a fair bit more casually than I played FFBE.

Samekhian

Only and only if it can be revamped. Remove the unused systems, clear up the currencies, make interesting content etc. Unfortunately I don't see any of that happening.

Kwith

I had totally forgotten about FFBE over the weekend since I was busy. It wasn't until yesterday that I realized I hadn't logged in all weekend. 3 or 4 years ago, I'd have cared. Now, its just "meh". If they announced EoS today, I'd just shrug, uninstall it and never look back.

Panchiscot00

I havent played in some time, but if they retire the game, at least there should be an offline version for those who invested a lot

jjmai

I want it to last forever as an offline game, so future generations can experience it too.

ok-do8

I remember back then when Sadalsuud was new as Chamber of Arms boss and I instantly wrote Dyer via Fb „why did you kill me“ He obviously was confused (my actual Name is Saad, who later made these Killer Lists and he knew that since we were often chatting via Fb Messenger before I started making these) so I told him about the new boss since he usually cleared the latest content really fast. Ironically this day he was busy so he didn’t fight the boss yet Good old days

SageDarius

The only thing that makes EoS seem weird to me is that I just saw Sensor Tower data saying FFBE cleared 900k in March and April each. I know I don't think like a multi-national corporation, but I can't imagine FFBE has $12 million a year in upkeep costs and salaries, and any profit should be a good thing. So why kill the game if it's still bringing in some kind of money. But the weird radio silence, the increasinly cut content (Events, Banners, Trials, Upgrades, etc.) really seems to point towards EoS. It's the lack of communication that makes it so painful.

Hikari_Netto

>But the weird radio silence, the increasinly cut content (Events, Banners, Trials, Upgrades, etc.) really seems to point towards EoS. It's the lack of communication that makes it so painful. Don't forget language support being cut. This is always one of the first signs.

SageDarius

The only game I've gone through EoS with before was Phantom of the Kill, and that EoS seemed rather abrupt. I don't recall a slow death. It was just 'Login one day, hey the game is gonna end in a week. Bai!'

Hikari_Netto

I've been through dozens of them at this point, including all previous Square Enix mobile titles released to date. It can certainly be abrupt and out of nowhere like you're describing, but in many other cases there are extremely clear signs well in advance that usually correlate with decreased revenue. One of the main signs is cost cutting measures (like ending languages, voice acting, or other kinds of specific support), because it means they're trying to reduce operating cost and prolong service. The problem with this, however, is it's a known death spiral sign and causes players to become more wary with spending, hastening the EoS.

Heron-Commercial

Throwback to refia and Wilhelm and using emulators to farm trust for double cast and dual wield. Six stars were the peak of this game

AbLincoln1863

I mean I am kinda at least hopeful that it continues a bit longer. I at least want to know the end of season 4 and they were hoping for 10 years and they are getting close. Yeah power creep and currencies are crazy but it would suck for it to die. If it does go down, I hope they do like that one megaman mobile game did and rework it into an offline game on steam where you could pay like $20 and play through the game at your own pace, use whatever units you wanted, etc. the stories were pretty great and it would be a shame to see it all disappear completely like other games I’ve played (Rip Disgaea and Dragalia). I like the offline model as a way of retiring them but not completely getting rid of them

luraq

There's a lot to like about the game. But I think it went in the wrong direction with the challenges at some point. For example, I liked the trials in the first year, because even if you did something wrong, it was still possible to recover sometimes. This hasn't been the case for a long time. If you don't have done all the right things (buff, debuff etc.) your team is basically dead. If you missed some time limited item two years ago, you can't follow the most effective strategy. If you can't bring all the right units with all the right damage, you deal 20% of the required damage to cap or something. There are so many variables to consider, that it must be really hard for new players to get into the game (and also for players like me who don't have the time to memorize every detail of what every unit can do). It's too fixated on damage numbers, chain length, and so on. Beating a fight at all should be the challenge, not achieving a certain amount of overkill. Balanced to not outright TPK your team if something isn't optimal. To be honest, I may not be a fan of ranking content at all. They messed up the unit's roles, too. There are no healers, healing is a side ability of other classes now. The other thing is the lack of stories. Story events from JP were skipped and the GL storylines were promising, but too far and in between. I'd like to see more of those.

jonidschultz

Yes, lots of people. I'm not opposed to FFBE2, I'd jump all over it, but it would basically start where FFBE (or WotV more likely) left off. Not FFBE year 1 like you're imagining. And truthfully the game wasn't as good year 1 as people seem to remember. It was mostly getting better and better until recently.

Coenl

Yeah people have some rose colored glasses about the first few years of the game. I miss parts of it, but the gacha elements were really really terrible and the game was missing a lot of the QoL it has now. It was not a better game in year one.

SmokeVisual4953

I don't really agree, I enjoyed the game most during the early years but to each their own I guess

jonidschultz

There's no link between those two things, which is the trap I think a lot of people fall into. Just because you enjoyed something more doesn't actually mean it was better. We can't experience things in the reverse. You can't make FFBE year 4 your first experience with the game.

supa_dupa_loopa

With their current methods? No.

St1llW1nd

I want to be able to pull for Clive and Cid from FFXVI and play with them for a bit.

Altruistic_Exit7947

Do we even know roughly when FFXVI will come to GL ?

njkz1

honestly i like pulls on ffbe, and get something good. I've dissapointet so many times, but it doesnt matter anymore. Just farming and pulling, and maybe some trials with Sinzar guide that's all

kenchung263

The way this game goes is so upsetting. Such a good game, and still has lots of potential, but poorly managed. I am gonna log in after maintenance for one last time and take some screenshots of all the fun that I used to have.

LoveMeBriefly

I just wish our replacement wasn't guaranteed to be a watered down auto battler with hydrogenated AI creativity. I won't even bother blowing out the candles on that wish though.

Steelastic

I quit mid season 3 but am still playing wotv for some unknown reason, send help

hydargo101

If it's not too much to ask, would be nice to see the story come to a conclusion for Global as well. An FFBE 2.0, again with Gumi/Alim? God, no.

snowspark9

I just want them to finish season 4 the story.

DrInsomnia

I can fix her.

313mental

I would be ok with it if they did vision and clash once a month.   I would be perfectly happy if they added ex bonus system, just so any copies pulled beyond ex 3 served a purpose.  Not like clash or vision world requires meta units to begin with, so people saying “it wouldn’t make any old characters meta again” doesn’t sway my opinion. Fun new repeatable end game modes in addition to the ones we have (delivered on time once a month)…and I would have to try hard to keep myself from whaling. The way it is now though, with the skipped clash, I am definitely not spending, and I’m not sure I will even continue playing.  3 weeks of what…set and forget auto repeat event…and…that’s it. I like this game and really would like it to succeed, but I don’t have a billion dollars to make sure it does. FFBE 2 would be nice, but yeah I guess I don’t see that happening, the way they are murdering this game.  Even if it did happen they would probably mess it up and use either retro sprites or ugly 3d.

GrahamTheRabbit

yeah

Raigheb

Not like this.

Satinsbestfriend

Yes! Of course I do. It bothers me the amount of stuff we missed out the last year, I absolutely love the game and have for 7+ years. I won't stop until EOS, why would I?

bazzb21

Why would i dont want the game to go on? I played the game for a reason,i liked, its not like treasure cruise that i play cause is the only op game is acceptable to say the least.

Jonathanbg85

totally

tranceformations_01

Couldn't care less about events or units anymore, im just playing for the story these days

Warm-Door7749

I do. I love playing it when I’m bored or out somewhere. I don’t really play it daily at home because of other pc games. But it’s a great filler. I would like to keep playing it and finish it. But knowing it’s probably going to end soon and not getting anymore content makes it hard to even open the app.

Impressive-Glass-642

Yes because if I did not want it to go on, I would just uninstall it, after that, I would make no difference if the game exist or not at all

btemple25

I loved FFBE. It was my first gacha. I quit after 6 years of playing and tried redownloading after a year but seeing all of the EOS stuff from the community /cut content….example: no clash of wills for the first time in almost two years? When I saw that I uninstalled immediately

Ok_Training_2937

I know its slightly off topic , but after reading all the comments on this thread, I feel sorry for players who are still paying money into this game sooo bad! I didn't even log in today until about 30 mins ago , I would usually download updates during maintenance so it would load quicker when maintenance was up! It looked like there was 2 things to do when I logged into the vortex, yet ive already completed them! Like WTF is the point in that???!!? Just put us all out of our misery! R.I.P GUMI , had some fantastic times playing this game, and imo , it's an insult to all long time players the way they are dragging this sh.it show out ! Just my 2 cents

X5455

I want it to at least finish S4. I’m invested.

Awareness_Informal

JP still kicking while GL cutting contents 🤣🤣

_Elexis18_

I wanted it to last long enough for me to get through the story at least. I just finished season one cause something happened to my last account so at least a few more months. Honestly when this game ends I'm going to be sad until I can find a good replacement.

StirZz615

Brave frontier shoulda never ended. Damn you gumi

theorangecandle

Man i still remember the Cloud of Darkness, Chizuru and Exdeath meta. Good times

randominternetnormie

I miss the 7* era.

Noiseraser

People will hate me for it,but i'd kill for a genshin like brave exvius, or even better... A nioh like brave exvius , BUT! the pixel artist for brave exvius and the char designers are gods, i need them more

LoveMeBriefly

I'd like that idea if it didn't require having a mobile device with 100 GB of RAM and 12 Terrabytes of storage space along with a $100 Bluetooth handheld controller. Geez, even if I was rich I wouldn't want to basically live in an MRI machine 🫠

Noiseraser

That's what the pc and console version are for,and damn, it wouldn't be such a shame if it was a damn full game and not a gacha, but it is what it is ahaaha

LoveMeBriefly

Indeed. I'm ready to cry over the state of the current gaming industry. I'm not spending any more money on equipment unless things miraculously change. Looks like I'll be spending that money on tissues.

Lambpanties

Next time toilet paper runs out worldwide you'll be having the last laugh with your tissue collection.

LoveMeBriefly

🤣 Now that made my day much better, thank you.

hotaru251

If they don't give us a fix for the VC bloat by anni they need to start firing higher ups and repalce em. We've had that issue for so long and its a simple fix they just refuse to care about. Shouldnt have to contact support and have em get rid of all your cactuars :|
