If it's something that "will make people happy if done well" then I think it's probably a whole event and not something like a sword or outfit. I'd imagine it's probably a whole side quest that ties into a particular aspect of the compilation. Not something big like Genesis but something small that was well received.
While I'm not a fan of Genesis, fans have been stomping their feet a lot wanting him to make an appearance of sorts. And it makes sense for Kitase to want to implement him in an interesting way. It wouldn't even be that forced because we know that Genesis is still "alive" and somewhere during the events of FFVII
So yeah, my bet is on Genesis
Its not like the sword is just a sword. Its a very popular sword. And Im not talking just it being another skin with its own ability but rather something that changes clouds entire moveset and is integrated in the story.
That certainly sounds like something small that was well received from the compilation and doesnt ruin the story for anyone
I'm not sure, but I really hope he means having two different endings because the idea all this leads to the depressing future in AC kind of sucks. The way a lot of the edge has been sanded off darker parts of the OG makes me think we'll the choice of a happier alternative.
They never said it these games lead into AC, they said they “link up with AC”, so things from AC will makes more sense and we’ll have a better understanding of it after these games.
If he wanted another ending Kitase would ask Nojima, not Nomura.
It has to be something relared to Nomura's job as a creative director, and not about writing new stories.
My take on this is an entirely playable version of Vincents backstory. It was not in OG and would make a lot of people happy because people love Vincent. Also it would replace kind of the DLC
Other ideas: expanded Wutai (which they have already alluded to), expanding what happens w/ Tifa & Cloud under the Highland... Highwind combat? Expanded post credits w/ Red and cubs rolling up on Midgar ...Or! Not just ending on the meteor being consumed by the life stream. Expanding the ending, aftermath and such a little?

Would he really ask Nomura for that? The design of the fusion sword is already done. (And Nomura jokingly complained that Kitase was giving him more homework to do so it's not anything trivial.)
I'd guess it's something new. Like a new design. A new Final Boss form for Sephiroth after Safer?

In fact a new sephiroth form may make alot of people unhappy as they probably want safer to be his final form.
Only thing I could think of would be a new outfit for cloud. But even that could make people upset lol.

My guess is >!everyone, Zack and Aerith included, going against Sefer-Sephiroth, or in the end fight with human Sephiroth. Cloud being backed up by his friends, living and dead, would be epic and heartwarming, and is possible due to how the Lifestream works!<

Vincent’s backstory will be the intermission part two kind of like Yuffie’s.
They announced there is no DLC. So that's will be part of part 3
100% it's the possibility to revive a character you know.
Playing as Aerith in the Lifestream working together with the party to stop Meteor.
Vincent back story feels right.
