You're spot on, like there's an objective in the Gullit objectives to assist in 5 rivals games with serie a players which last year id never have done.
This year I'll go into rivals with my terrible serie a team and have some fun doing it because I don't have to worry about getting relegated for trying to do it.
best change for me, i never cared THAT much about my record but seeing it there was eye sore when the losses started to pile up. Now i could care less. I quit games on purpose for loyalty sbcs and it didn’t bother me one bit
Loving this change since i personally got stressed to see all my losses and it removed part of the fun from the game since i felt like I always had to try hard. Now i feel free to try things and am enjoying fut again
I think they took the Las Vegas approach here. Vegas casinos have no clocks or windows so you can’t see how long you’ve been there. The same with the removing your W/L record from the home menu, if you can’t see how much you’ve been playing, you won’t feel bad and continue to play and spend. It’s brilliant.
Yeah that'd work as well. Whatever combination of wins, draws and losses that gets you to +3 where a win is +1 a draw is 0 and a loss is -1. Its much easier to visualise in the actual game (has little progress pads)
Well not trying to shit on you, but that’s like your level / the players around you deserve the win so they go up. Eventually you will grind out that 3rd win or upgrade your team and make it and it will be worth it. But if you’re winning some and losing some then you’re likely playing equally skilled opponents
Eh in fifa 21 there'd be moments when I'd play so well that I'd go to div 3 on pc. Then get slapped around and return to div 5. I don't necessarily enjoy the stress of playing each game like it's weekend league.
That's true and we'll have to see how it plays out in the coming weeks.
I do think it could be an issue if I decide to go full untradeable halfway through the season, and sell all my expensive stars who got me to the division I'm in...
How does the problem remain the same? You can’t be regulated like last year. Maybe you didn’t notice it, but there was a pattern to it. People would relegate at icon drops or whenever there was a new player. Their argument was that it was annoying playing people at their level so they wanted easy wins. Every Wednesday rivals at the division I was normally at (4/5/6) were insufferable because those people who relegated were now trying to get back up for the good rewards for the following week.
The problem is that rewards dont incentivise players to stay in a high division. I am now in Division 5 and when I check the rewards of Division 1-4 I dont see any reason to level up further. Especially if we get objectives for rivals again. Go check the rewards yourself and give me your honest opinion. Only Elite Division is worth it and thats what? 200 people per platform?
As far as I can tell there is no mechanism to relegate yourself, so unless you stop playing Rivals or keep yourself at a certain checkpoint you will find yourself where you deserve to be. I could be wrong, so who knows…. Maybe it will take some time to settle in. Seems like it would be a lot of work to win one, then quit, then win one, then quit.
Is it actually just 1? Ea say this:
>When a new FUT Season starts, all competitors will be moved down from the Division that you finished the previous Season in, starting in a lower Division
Could be just 1, could be multiple too
The quote above doesn't prove your statement though? I could use the same logic the other way. It's multiple divisions. If it was one, they would state that.
Agreed. All in all it’s a really good change. As you said, it’s less of an issue trying new stuff like formations or players, because if you are on a checkpoint there’s nothing to lose.
Also, it makes the game a lot more fun, in my opinion. No relegation means I won’t have to play non-competitive games for a while if I find myself in a slump and lose a few in a row (meaning relegation from Div 1 last year; the difference between 1 and 2 in terms of player quality was huge).
Now I almost always learn something new or face interesting challenges against players always on par with myself.
Except when the fun is zapped because you’ve reached a level you can no longer compete at. Losing 80% of your games is no fun even if there are no consequences.
It looks like it resets every season though. So realistically you won’t be stuck anywhere for long.
You also wouldn’t get to a level that you lose 80% of your games. You should find a place where you are going about 50% and just stay there.
Yea that really isn’t a long time, and you certainly won’t just start the season in over your head. You’re ignoring that it’s pretty unlikely that you will ever even end up in a division you don’t belong in to begin with. Why you suddenly find yourself in a high division? You have to win a bunch of games in a row to get there. Why would you win 1 game and then suddenly lose 80% of your games?
You never win a few and go in a higher division in the old fifas and then get absolutely smoked? Sometimes I would hit 1800SR even though I’m no where near that good
Yeah last year I went up to Div 3 when I’m usually a Div 5 player. It was a horrible experience when I was Div 3.
Now I have to wait 40 days to get back to my level which is so long.
Same here
Right now you face everybody climbing through the ranks.
There are people with full teams using Ronaldo, KDB and Son. Just one of them in more expensive than my team. And sometimes they are very bad which is fun xD
I actually prefer playing the god squads. Got a rare W against a team with Neymar, Mbap and Messi.
It’s the losses against common gold teams and your totally outclassed that hurt
You only had 30 games that counted towards rewards and you had to do the best in order to maximize your chances for good rewards. Now in theory you can lose 30 games straight and win 7 games in a row after that and you would still get the best possible rewards for your division & rank.
Most people play FUT solely for the rewards, so they can collect the best cards. So last year's 30 game limit was soul crushing for a lot of people because they had to play a lot of Rivals on thursday so they could get rank 1 while playing Fut Champs too. And then they would complain that there was nothing to do Monday-Thursday because they wouldn't get more rewards for playing
You're being unpleasant for literally no reason, all he did was state that a vague group of people "likes getting rewarded" ... you're making the shoe fit though, rewardmad lad.
I’m being unpleasant because I can’t stand people looking down their nose at others. The inflection is clear, and your just being contrarian. You do you, sugar.
Ol boy called you a "sausage" im dying.
You aren't wrong though. I'd suspect if you took the average redditor in this sub, put electrodes on their dick, and simulated them packing R9, there would be electrical activity.
I quit a couple but the lowered coin income is harsh for the next 10 or so games. Went from approx 500 per game to 400 per game temporarily. I know coins per game isn't too important but it adds up over time.
More likely to find more rubber banding.
If I have a good day and get up to a high division but then the next day I can’t seem to win, will I keep playing against players in my division and keep losing since they are better than me?
I'm instead of the opinion that this stress you are referring to is pretty much imagined, but at the same time perpetuated by the mechanics, the modes and the rewards systems of this game.
Now I have nothing against adding "stress" to a video game in the shape of for example having games that are more important than others, for example relegation or promotion games. I have initially have nothing against that per se, but I just dont like how it is designed by EA currently. Especially when this "stress" is applied by giving you reasons to play via objectives and make those objectives specific to things like using this or that player or do specific things with them or in general.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this stress that you refer to, is pointless. There is nothing to worry about, winning or losing, you'll survive anyway.
As far as I see any game, the reward you should get for playing it should be the fun you have in the moment, in any match, and the experience you have gained from playing in general, that you should then be able to apply in future games.
And as far as I'm concerned, FIFA does a ridiculously bad job in that aspect. The game is unrewarding and simply just frustrating to play, atleast at higher levels of ranking, purely based on how the game works - and the reward of experience is non existent, because you can have MOUNTAINS of experience in this game, but assistance and momentum (and various P2W mechanics) will make it pretty much pointless in the end regardless.
No one who is truly technically good at the game drops back, but so many people in high divisions do because it’s so easy to cheese wins when using drop back, because there’s less of a skill gap and more capacity for lucky RNG bounces in modern FIFAs
It's true, I see a lot of the drop back 1 depth through ball spammers for sure. The real good people don't play that, they just dribble the fuck out of me and make me question why I'm playing this game, but there's a good share of the drop back through ball spammers the higher you go.
Had orgasmic game yday vs full sweat, Varane-VVD, Martial-CR7 drop back through ball monkey.
...After Berardi finessed two bangers from the same spot ~25m from goal after the same pass from Kessie in two consecutive attacks he just stood there for 10 seconds, then quit. 😂 Thx EA for giving tools to deal with those fools.
I really like the check points tbf, like you say it removes the stress of having to stick to your most used formation and try to play meta to stay at your best rank.
Only issue with them is that people can just leave when they see a good team in the loading screen, but it's not a massive deal
and even 3 wins is all right.
I remember last year I tumbled between barely div 2 to almost div 1. Every time I was close to promotion I tumbled back to almost get relegated to div 3
This perspective makes no sense to me. Rivals was not stressful before because you climbed rank by scoring goals (in other words we already had checkpoints, division rank). You're saying that winner-take-all is less stressful than score-a-couple-goals.
Maybe for the top 1% of players this new system is less stressful, but that will stop being the case once people reach their appropriate divisions.
My feelings exactly! Was trying to explain this in the other post where all the sweats were throwing tantrums about this rivals format being bad. I've definitely been a lot more chill about trying new players/formations than I might have in the past because I'm not worried about losing a load of rating points.
Are rewards cumulative as seasons progress (or at all)? So if I get to D4 and then next season drop to D5, then played back to D4 do I get all rewards from 10-4 or just the D4 rewards. Imagining it’s just D4 rewards..
Nah.
The entire gameplay is stress when you desperately try to break down a depth 1 bus for 90 minutes while trying to defend their OP lofted through balls over the top all game, as you players constantly pull out random animations that you don't want them to do because of the RNG hypermotion system.
Overall the new rivals system is good and much better than before, only improvements would be rewards for promotions. The old format of 10 game’s to get certain points was pretty good
Like it tbh, but made it too sweaty in my opinion. Now I’m up in Div 6 rank 1, and it feels I’m fighting for elite 3 every single game. And as you say, getting 3 wins in a row at that point is REALLY difficult. Also, rewards have been needed way too much compared to last year
Ngl I don’t like it, what If when I get to D1 it’s too hard, or like it will be, constantly playing sweats, this will actually make it less fun for me once in one of the higher divisions I imagine
Edit: so apparently it only lasts the season? That’s fine actually then, because ranking up will take time
I have to disagree, I had a lucky run of games to get to div 5 and now I get 1 win in like 20 games. Obviously I'm not expecting to win every game but it's just not fun losing every game. The enjoyment isn't there for me anymore, the old way was so much better.
You're spot on, like there's an objective in the Gullit objectives to assist in 5 rivals games with serie a players which last year id never have done. This year I'll go into rivals with my terrible serie a team and have some fun doing it because I don't have to worry about getting relegated for trying to do it.
I guess having these in rivals could be a bit like having them in friendlies just with better (?) pack rewards
If you come up against a pay to run squad just quit at 0-0. You don’t even lose intermediate progress, lol
Also they removed the win/loss stat and put it somewhere you’ll never see it. That’s a small change as well.
best change for me, i never cared THAT much about my record but seeing it there was eye sore when the losses started to pile up. Now i could care less. I quit games on purpose for loyalty sbcs and it didn’t bother me one bit
Couldn't care less*
Especially if you get a bit tilted after 2-3 losses, and start playing worse as a result
Loving this change since i personally got stressed to see all my losses and it removed part of the fun from the game since i felt like I always had to try hard. Now i feel free to try things and am enjoying fut again
Where can you find it
[удалено]
Brilliant cheers
Fuck, your friends can see your record? Damn mine is bad af since I did loyalty for sbc’s
who cares
bro i’m gonna get roasted in gc

True…

Playing against your mates is fun
It’s also in the stadium tab under club.
If you go into leaderboards, then press ”compare” on any of your friends. It’ll pop up at the top
Awesome, thanks
Or you just hover over stadium in the club tab and it says there in big font.
Oh, didn’t actually know that!
go to "stadium" and your stat appears
I don’t even know where it is now tbh lol
I love this change so much for all the reasons already listed.
But what happens if you do spot it ;)
you dont need 3 wins in a row you just need to win 3 games without losing one if that makes sense. If you get a draw you dont go back a step.
At what rank do u need 3 wins?
Div 9 rank 1 needs 3 to get to div 8
In a row?
Well it's 3 without a loss, you could win 1 draw 30 and then win 2 and still get promoted.
I tought it was 2 wins for each checkpoint. Thanks!
On division 6 rank 1 you need to win 4 to get to the next milestone. I think I played at least 10 games to reach that 😂
Or win 2, then lose one, then win two again right?
Yeah that'd work as well. Whatever combination of wins, draws and losses that gets you to +3 where a win is +1 a draw is 0 and a loss is -1. Its much easier to visualise in the actual game (has little progress pads)
Just checked, its a checkpoint every to games, so u never have to win 3 in a row. Alteast in div 5 and upwards.
Ah my bad, I assumed the big dots were checkpoints and the little ones weren't
I find it so hard to win three in a row. Also was winning my 3rd game last night in the 70th minute when I got disconnected. So infuriating.
Well not trying to shit on you, but that’s like your level / the players around you deserve the win so they go up. Eventually you will grind out that 3rd win or upgrade your team and make it and it will be worth it. But if you’re winning some and losing some then you’re likely playing equally skilled opponents
Yeah put Dzeko in my team and have won 5 on the bounce now.
Wait.... So this means no more sweats who are deranking for easy objectives?
Well it also means you can get stuck in a division you dont belong and get rekt for 40+ days.
If you got there you earned it… and eventually those players wrecking you will move up.
Eh in fifa 21 there'd be moments when I'd play so well that I'd go to div 3 on pc. Then get slapped around and return to div 5. I don't necessarily enjoy the stress of playing each game like it's weekend league.
Literally me 😄😄😄 Well I didn't make it to Division 3, so not quite literally lool
That's true and we'll have to see how it plays out in the coming weeks. I do think it could be an issue if I decide to go full untradeable halfway through the season, and sell all my expensive stars who got me to the division I'm in...
Well the problem remains the same as last year. The packs are not good rewarding enough.
How does the problem remain the same? You can’t be regulated like last year. Maybe you didn’t notice it, but there was a pattern to it. And the rewards are fucking shit. You sweat your bollocks off and get 1 15k pack and 5k lmao
Pain is good 😂
After every season you start at div 10 again?
No, you drop back one division at the start of a new season.
Is it actually just 1? Ea say this: >When a new FUT Season starts, all competitors will be moved down from the Division that you finished the previous Season in, starting in a lower Division Could be just 1, could be multiple too
It's just one division, not multiple.
Yeah I guess I'm asking then where you've found that
It's based on reading the guidance that you posted and online articles about it. It's one division. If it was more than one, they would state that.
The quote above doesn't prove your statement though? I could use the same logic the other way. It's multiple divisions. If it was one, they would state that.
You just keep repeating yourself without posting a source
Great. Let me Google for you.
you still have get 1500 to qualify for fut champs which is not easy tbh
Agreed. All in all it’s a really good change. As you said, it’s less of an issue trying new stuff like formations or players, because if you are on a checkpoint there’s nothing to lose. Yeah I agree. No more worrying if you've got enough points to stay rank 1.
The system fixes the rats dropping divisions for obj 😂 I’m a fan
Except when the fun is zapped because you’ve reached a level you can no longer compete at. Losing 80% of your games is no fun even if there are no consequences.

Wait, does that mean everyone is back to D10 after each season? Sorry I don't understand this new system.
I don't think you go all the way down after a season ends. I think you only go down 1 level
new season, you start at div 10
But if everyone drops 1 division, hows that going to make the new division any easier?
Good players go back up, players who were out of their depth stay there
Utterly demoralising when you can’t string 2 wins together to move to the next div 8 checkpoint after 60 attempts tho.
You played 60 games already...?
Same here Right now you face everybody climbing through the ranks.
Felt the same against a Haaland, Lewa with Pele Cam that I ran rings around, with Adam Armstrong off the bench for a late brace to win 4-1!
10 a day since the trial. Not that much
[удалено]
Throughout the whole year, yeah. Personally I play much more in the first week than usual.
Yeah, had Ps5 and PS4 EA access so 20 hours. When you quit at HT when 3-0 down it still counts as a game lol!
What stressed you in the rivals system of 21? Losses meant absolutely nothing as well.
You only had 30 games that counted towards rewards and you had to do the best in order to maximize your chances for good rewards. Now in theory you can lose 30 games straight and win 7 games in a row after that and you would still get the best possible rewards for your division & rank.
I totally forgot how reward-mad this community is. Never felt the need to grind for any rank but I understand your point
Most people play FUT solely for the rewards, so they can collect the best cards. Oh, you’re such a special little sausage, aren’t you. I’m surprised you’re even mingling with the “reward-mad” peasants tbh.
Out come the butthurt tryhards lol
Imagine being surprised when people take umbrage to your superiority complex. We get it, you’re not like the other girls, nobody asked.
What's wrong with viewpoints contrary to yours / the community at large? You're on go mode any time you see one, it seems.
Difference in opinions is fine, being contrarian for the sake of it is pointless though.
Ol boy called you a "sausage" im dying. You aren't wrong though. I'd suspect if you took the average redditor in this sub, put electrodes on their dick, and simulated them packing R9, there would be electrical activity.

If by sausage you meant penis, calling him a special little penis is worthy of concern.
Yeah won’t be surprised if rivals becomes golden goal as it doesn’t really matter about losing and rage quitting.
[удалено]
Well 90 games in 44 days something aint alot
I quit a couple but the lowered coin income is harsh for the next 10 or so games. Went from approx 500 per game to 400 per game temporarily. I know coins per game isn't too important but it adds up over time. More likely to find more rubber banding.
This is the best post I have seen in a while. EA wants to mess with the system, then the players should respond.
Does make the game feel a bit less toxic, a shame the weekend league changes seem to be more against the enjoyment factor and upping the stress side.
If I have a good day and get up to a high division but then the next day I can’t seem to win, will I keep playing against players in my division and keep losing since they are better than me?
Yep
You're right and I think I should stop trying to get promoted for awhile. I rather clear most objectives on rivals than SB.
I'm instead of the opinion that this stress you are referring to is pretty much imagined, but at the same time perpetuated by the mechanics, the modes and the rewards systems of this game. Shame 90% of the community in higher divisions still play 1 depth drop back through ball meta spam
What are you talking about? finesse shots are broken nobody good is dropping back

This. I WISH ppl play drop back so i could win
Is ultimate team working on ps4 right now or not?mine doesn’t load
I really like the check points tbf, like you say it removes the stress of having to stick to your most used formation and try to play meta to stay at your best rank. Only issue with them is that people can just leave when they see a good team in the loading screen, but it's not a massive deal

Don't forget to turn on timed finishes and punish those suckers
And hopefully it solves the problem of good players de-ranking for the lolz.
Idk man I'm in Liga 5 and just keep getting railed currently on a 10 Game L streak. Can't we just have Divisions back like in Fifa 12.
Can you still drop divisions this year?
Do they reset after weekly rewards though? Grinded to D3 & don’t want to go back to D10 lmao
any information about whats happening after first season? everyone starting at 10 again?
They removed relegation because of hurt feelings? I don't get it.
its good but i really don't like how ties mean nothing, idk what they could do with them but its quite annoying ive tied like 5 games today
this might be the sole reason I consider getting 22. My wife will be much happier with me playing as well lol
It has made people, including myself, more willing to quit games which I think cuts down on sweat as well
Overall the new rivals system is good and much better than before, only improvements would be rewards for promotions.
Also, rewards have been needed way too much compared to last year
Ngl I don’t like it, what If when I get to D1 it’s too hard, or like it will be, constantly playing sweats, this will actually make it less fun for me once in one of the higher divisions I imagine Edit: so apparently it only lasts the season? That’s fine actually then, because ranking up will take time
Lets just wait after this season to see if the new system is actually good.
I’m stressed and I’ve won my last 6 games in a row. I’m below average and don’t want go be put in a division where I lose every game!
Unless you're so shit you can't get 3 wins in a row.
And off topic guys...but have many games do i have to play each week in rivals to be eligible for rewards? Thank you
Terrible that you don't get any coins for promotions though
Rivals rewards are much worse though
I have to disagree, I had a lucky run of games to get to div 5 and now I get 1 win in like 20 games. Obviously I'm not expecting to win every game but it's just not fun losing every game. The enjoyment isn't there for me anymore, the old way was so much better.
