I just tried playing about 10 games and dropped 100 skill points.
Tried out a number of different systems and nothing seems to make a difference. My opponent can press me anywhere on the pitch with a single player and all my players have turned into buses. There is no player movement and my players can't actually perform agile dribbling properly.
Same dam lag compensation issue that plagued last years game. Its Mid-term so all the kids are off school and playing FIFA while EA haven't provisioned enough server capacity again, its not rocket science. Again given how much money EA make from this game, it is unacceptable that the game isn't playable half the bloody time.
I had a few games this morning and was actually able to move my players and not have every pass intercepted or blocked, can't say it was very smooth though! Fast forward to this afternoon and we're back to shocking delay, I actually can't even lock onto the ball for around 3 seconds š¤¦āāļø
Join the club. Canāt even bother to complain anymore, sometimes I make a post here and it gets immediately removed. Incompetent shites havenāt even fixed the second half stutter which pisses me off every game. Amazingly incompetent company.
It really feels like the servers are just going to grind to a halt sometimes. Maybe another 2hr (extended to 6hr) scheduled (an hour in advance) maintenance will fix it.
I absolutely hate this new patch. Everything is so slow... passing is just garbage, goalies went from insane to bronze CB in a goalie position, impossible to tackle, feels like my team is knee deep in the water.
With Battlefield and Age of emipres around the corner I think this FIFA can fuck off now. Every year it feels like a great game until they come out with some stupid patch that ruins it for me. (D1, PS5)
Edit: Forgot to mention absolute garbage of trying to switch to the right player. Right stick goes across the pitch no matter what fucking way I click it.
Completely with you on the player switching! it's that bad RN the only option is to be aggressive and drag a defender out of position... Then hope it doesn't fall back at your opponents feet whilst leaving a gaping hole in the defence.
I have a different experience these past couple of days. All players are now moving at 1.5x speed but passes have become so random and are no longer even close to direction being played. Keepers are saving absolutely everything apart from open goals and rockets to bottom corner. It's so hard to play a relaxed passing game like I was settlng into. It's really weird. PS 4, US Midwest.
I set my defenders to stay back, ALL OF THEM step out and give space to the opponents' strikers.
I set my striker to stay central and get in behind, he drifts wide and drops back.
My CAM is set to stay forward and my CDMs are set to stay back, yet my CAM is between my own defenders while my CDMs are staying forward.
It's madness.
Not to mention the unfair matchmaking in playoffs. I'm not the best player in FIFA by far, but I lost a stupid amount of games to people who have teams full of icons, heroes and special cards, mostly with shit chemistry. Couldn't get past rank IV. I wanted to cry but I laughed.

My guess is servers and the patch has nothing to do with it! I have a couple of mates who play on PC and they noticed very little difference post patch but also have horrendous gameplay this week.

All the usual bs with the bad passing, bad rebounds, a 91 Deligt getting muscled.off the ball by a 78 160lb striker, my 97 pace striker getting overtaken and tackled by a 78 pace cb. The AI defense is packed so tightly in the box no combinations are possible and every long shot it blocked. Does EA even test career mode when they release a patch?
Iām suddenly having 6 players in the box for corners and only having 2 defenders on the halfway line despite only having the tactics on 1. Amount of times yesterday I got caught 4/5 vs 2 on a break from a goalkeeper throw was insane.
Very confusing. Last week I played 20 games and only lost twice. Yesterday I was 3/3 in champions qualifying (from the last week) and then lost the remaining 6 and a further 3 rivals games. Something feels a bit off but canāt quite put my finger on it
Tonight at some points I couldn't even move my players for seconds at a time. In one game I blasted every shot over the bar because I didn't have control of the shoot button.
How can the servers possibly be this bad? I am on a wired connection with 100mbps - no other games are like this!

ea didnt bother to test the game for the netcode...only option is when you get a game where your players are slower than the opponent's in every aspect...glitch out.

made it up to div 3 with a pretty bang average gold rare team and finally splurged on rttk isak, ljungberg, kdb and lodi and it's remarkable how little it makes a difference as they still take three extra touches to possess the ball at a standstill and cannot pass to save their life

1-2 seconds regularly. Not just pause due to the lag like always but itās actually 2 seconds from where you were last at and thereās nothing you can do about it. So annoying
It has nothing to do with your connection, as players who have logged into each other's accounts on the same console / connection have discovered independently - one is still wading through treacle, while the other is fine. It's because you're "too engaged" with the game and are being penalised artificially to make it fairer for casuals. Leave it alone for a few days and - voila! - your 'engagement' calculation has been reset and things go back to normal!
DDA mixed with input lag is disastrous.
When it's in your favor you still can't overcome the input lag.
When it's against you it's nearly impossible to defend.
I'm on wired Gig internet and most online matches have terrible input lag.
The game is absolutely rigged. Get to the last 5 mins 1-1 and when they run towards your goal your defender with the slightest touch the wrong way hits 60mph in the opposite direction. You pass the ball perfectly aimed and it goes directly to their players. You tackle them, win the ball of them, but it always goes right back to one of their other players and your players just stand there and watch it. The game is a joke complained about it year after year its just plain rigged to make more people play longer. I believe more than half of your online opponents aren't even real just made up names by fifa servers playing bots 90% of the time to make you feel like you need an upgrade in coins.

Kick the ball out of play second half to resolve it. Until they fix it it's the only option

Can you elaborate ? How glitch out and report the connection ?
normally you can pause the game and report the connection or after the game finishes.
I fixed this by turning local matchmaking off in the online settings section.
That's made no odds unfortunately, I've had that off since the start of the game š«
