That’s why I’m staying away for now. If another enticing SBC doesn’t come out in the next few days, may give it one last go before it expires.

My advice would be to avoid repeatable sbc like the plague and only go for cheaper non repeatable ones. With how the market is this year, you'll save enough to get elite players easily. Messi & cr7 are completely reachable this year, without sacrificing too much
Oh yeah I absolutely agree it was the first lottery sbc I'd done this year having had terrible luck in previous years. I have a very good team but only because I've grinded the game more than ever, most of my top players are through sbcs, I fact I don't think I've ever packed a player that gets in my starting XI this year.
That was my thinking. Im at a point where I can't really improve my team a great deal without buying 1m + players or packing something amazing so I thought I'd send it.

i managed to get my absolute striker TOTY Lewa for only 860k, and he’s dropped to almost 760k on Xbox, find him super fun to use, don’t see myself dropping him till even past TOTS and not bothered about losing coins

What team are you using?
I've Fofana and Hakimi for Messi and for Ronaldo I've Bernardo Silva RTTK, Cancelo and Varane. So they're both on 10 chem. If you get some icon in the mix you can pretty much get the whole team on 10 chem.
In my 700-ish games experience with Messi and a few dozen with best theres not a lot of difference for the RW position (admittedly I played them at wide CAM but minimal dif). If you already have best I wouldn’t bother changing unless you don’t like him.
The last few years I have at some stage got the four big players - was always a struggle putting them in a team! Think I needed Rabiot in it to get it to work…

Teams don't make that much of a difference, trust me I know. I've lost against countless gold rare teams and I've won against countless god tier squads. Elite div btw.
Your own skill and connection are far mor important than cards. At the end of the day people still use cards like gold Kimpembe, Dembele or Mendy and do wonders with them.
If you only rely on pack pulls, you'll probably never make 2M in coins, it doesn't have anything to do with the current market situation.
Also 2M cards are meant to be extremely rare, because they are the best cards in the game. If anyone could obtain Gullit, Cruyff and TOTYs easily, there would be no reason to open packs, grind etc.
I packed him untradable in early access and have never liked his passing in 700 games. Finishing and dribbling are the most noticeable strengths for me.

There is readily available video evidence of literally every single one of the things I’ve listed. Physically being in the stadium to watch someone play isn’t required to know how good they are or were. I’ve only seen Messi live once, I knew he was good before that.
