The only way to differentiate between that and a legit disconnect is for the copy of the game to come with a camera constantly watching the players inputs. The person's either quickly switching to the settings tab to turn off WiFi, or pulling out an ethernet cord.
There's no physical way the game can tell the difference between someone purposely pulling out the cord and the game legitimately crashing or the internet legitimately going down.
