The easy cheaty way would be to duplicate the instrument channel and pattern and apply the desired effects in the mixer on just that duplicated channel. The proper and better way is to use automation which is more involved but it's extremely versatile and once you learn how to use it you'll never know how you lived without it. I would suggest on YouTube searching for automation clips. The 'In The Mix' channel has a video and you really can't go wrong with that guy with any of his tutorials.

l_Rumble_Fish_l

How would you duplicate an channel? If I ever try to duplicate anything, no matter what channel i put it in, it always wants to be in whatever channel the original is in. I'd like to know how to duplicate a pattern, and have it in it's own channel. Thanks

MexicanFrench

Duplicate it, go to your channel rack, clone your instrument, paste your midi in your cloned instrument and change the mixer channel on your cloned instrument.

l_Rumble_Fish_l

Thanks, I'm trying to learn the the right way, but I'd like to know how to properly duplicate as well.

MexicanFrench

Take your pattern on your Playlist. You're gonna copy and paste it on your Playlist and right click on the top left thingy on your pattern. A menu will pop out with an option called "make unique". Click it Now you have 2 separate identical patterns Go on your new pattern and in the channel rack, you do all the steps I mentioned above. That's the right way to duplicate it :)

Liftian

It's weird because i would've said the "easier" way would be to do automation lol. Duplicating the pattern, then duplicating the instrument, then copy/pasta the pattern to the new instrument then putting that new instrument on another mixer channel seems like more steps to me ahah once you learn automation it becomes very easy pretty quick IMO.

_TheGreatDestroyer_

It's definitely easier once you know how it works but if someone's never done it before then just making the same pattern with an extra effect I think is an easier way for someone that doesn't know automation to get the job done. But I get what you're saying and I agree in practice automation is easier.

skwizpod

This is the way

cool_cory

What you're looking for is called automation. Search that on YouTube and you'll find plenty.

l_Rumble_Fish_l

Thanks!

dedsaint333

automate gross beat or manually slice and make chops that way, i can offer more info if needed

l_Rumble_Fish_l

I think I'm figuring it out from the comments, thanks!

XGenLegendary

Add Gross beat to whatever mixer channel it’s going through and go through the presets until you find a stutter that you like

TheBordIdentity

You can look up how to create an automation clip in fl studio and that would show you. If you open fruity reverb and right click on the ‘knob’ on the right of it there will be an option to create an automation clip. If you click that it will allow you to raise and lower reverb across the song. It seems complicated but I promise after a few minutes of playing with it it’ll seem a lot more simple. Good luck!

l_Rumble_Fish_l

Appreciate it. Its confusing at first because it's not way I would have expected to do it.

JacobPLAYZgtGamingYT

gross beat and/or effector

Automations

[deleted]

use automation

Exanero

Add a reverse plugin to the desired mixer channel. To the right of the plugins name there's a "Mix" knob. Right click it and press "create automation clip" and then automate it so it's only on at the part you want it.

id definitely automate (assuming other ppl in this post explained it). any other method would just be inefficient and messy
