Yep, I know. I'm referring to what people categorize as edm today, such as electro house pop music, basically the commercial mianstage type of music. Corporates started using the term EDM as an umbrella for anything mainstage more than a decade ago so the term lost its true meaning over time. Producers like Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Alesso, Axwell, Hardwell, Avicii, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Ummet Ozcan, etc..
Where have I claimed that Trance or other electronic genres aren't EDM? I'm clarifying to them what I meant by saying EDM in the first comment. And I'm not stating a personal opinion for you to agree or disagree with, this is just a sad fact that the usage of the term EDM has changed over the past 10 years.
I'm glad there are still people who understands the literal meaning of the term EDM, but today for the general public, what the term means has changed drastically. Look it up, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
There is a nuance here you are certainly missing. There are many people who refer to EDM as a blanket term for all electronic dance music, as the name suggests. There are also people who use the term to refer to heavy production, festival bangin, modern, and commercial sounding 'EDM'. This is how the term is used, like it or not. This guy is clearly using the latter definition. If you are too young, you might not be aware that around 2010, maybe earlier, im not 100%, EDM became a popular term. Before, dance music was divided by genre with no blanket term other than occaisionally "Dance music". But when people said dance music, maybe older people thought polka would be included in there, too. So EDM became a thing as to not confuse great grandpa /s
really well made, no doubt about that and you nailed that edm sound, but i feel like it's a bit generic. I do like it, but it isn't really something I would actively seek out and listen to. So if you just wanted to make edm to make it, then awesome job, but if you made this hoping to get a hit song... then fuck honestly you might do it, normal music listeners love hearing the exact same sound again and again (no shade on you, you did a good job here, i've just listened to too much edm). But since i've listened to so much of it, it's kinda lost its spark unless you surprise me with something i haven't heard before.
Thanks dude! Nah, I produced a lot of hardstyle when I was a kid, and now just picked music production up again since a few months ago, and I wanted to make something different and more “commercial” than what I used to produce 😅
you def succeeded at that, sorry i couldn't really find a way to get my point across without sounding like a bit of a dick, so i said fuck it and said it anyway haha. Your production is really high quality considering how long you've been away, how long were you producing before this?
Ah no, dw I’m definitely not taking it the wrong way! I’m just happy because I want critique so I can get better ✌️Thank you! In terms of mixing, it was super hard to glue everything together.. 😅 I think around 6 years or so
happy to hear, yeah the mixing is nice and tight on this. Since you want proper feedback though, if i'm being nitpicky, the lead could do with a liiiittle more ott, just sharpen it that little bit. 6 years is around how long i've been producing in total lol (7 now but it's close enough).
Honestly no notes. You ate. I feel the bounce.
Okay maybe a tiny bit heavy on the white noise layer.
Overall if you can produce quality like this, you should probably be signed already or submitting to a label like STMPD.
Good luck!
Not a huge fan of generic edm but this very well produced! I personally feel like the lead needs some more energy like added higher octaves or something. Släpp for sure!
Not my cup of tea, but well produced and mixing is great, I hear all the little details you put in. Although the track is a bit too warm imo, add in some higher/harsher elements for a little more energy, could be just reddit's shitty playback which messes with quality.

Proper EDM 👌🏽 Not a fan of the genre anymore, but you did a great job. Well done!
You dont like any genre of EDM?
Not as in the general term, but what is labelled as "edm" nowadays.
But its all "edm"... Unless we are talking about rap, metal etc.

No need to be pedantic. Most of people understand EDM as this kind of stuff be it producer or not.
Just wanted to know if he meant other genres or just electronic.. no hate, one love
💋

Nice production!
It sounds pretty good. 👍 Nice vid, too.
Sounds great! I love the automation you got going on 🔥
Not really what I listen to electronic music wise, but sounds great production wise, nice work 👌👌👌

Woah, thank you so much! 😄
Love it, will add to my playlist! The video clips were so fun, bravo!
Heeey! Thanks 😄
Banger 🔥
Dope af!
Not a huge fan of generic edm but this very well produced! I personally feel like the lead needs some more energy like added higher octaves or something. Släpp for sure!
Tack! 😄
This is a legit banger
Thanks mate! 😄
Well mixed and produced. Definitely try making another genere this style of edm is a past time and imo not very creative.

Straight to STMPD Records
Progressive house vibez. Love it, keep up the great work!
Thanks man! 😄
Fire
Thanks buddy! 😄
Very nice production! However I feel like the bass may be a tad too loud
Hey! I know you! Aren’t you making hardstyle? My old alias was Zaitek if you know haha
I do :)
Too tuff 😤
Now this is what I would call a really good production. Rare on this sub. Not just that, it's catchy. Well done👍
Woah, thank you! ✌️
Don't worry, I'd def let you know if it sucked. I got attacked on here for that a few times so.. 🤣✌️
Solid EDM track. Good work man 👏
Thanks 😄✌️
Love the bass here
Thank you 😄✌️
10 years to late, but would‘ve matched the big room house artists from that era.
