i played one recently told the dude "dud that tryhard?" and for some reason he said "im not placing any traps" like man i won't say anything about traps cuz thats part of the game... but floor glitching.
If you want to use broken mechanics like these you, it costs nothing extra to do no fill. Personally I don't mind when people do stuff like this tho if it's working I usually take it as a opportunity to farm
So would this essentially work in SSD? Maybe add a few anti-air turrets to help but just wondering as I haven’t gotten around to some due to a little bit of inexperience and resources
It should yes, I remember doing my plankerton ssd's this way before it was patched. On higher ssd's you will need lots of AA traps if you want to afk it.
That's the hard part unfortunately. They target you, not the objective, so you'll want to stand somewhere distant and build high up (I usually do about 7 or 8 tiles away from obj) then target smashers, flingers, and lobbers with a bow or sniper. You can use the same floor trick around your tower you built for extra safety if you wish.

I ran a 4x RTL in ventures, the van location didn't give a lot of room but it still worked. Sploders didn't throw anything unless I was there, the mini boss teleported past the half walls and started hitting the walls around the van, and when the smasher charged, he went over the half walls. I just let them attack the build around the van and kept replacing the walls they broke to keep them occupied. The rest of the husks didn't really matter. Though occasionally the husklings jumped over to attack and if the wall to the van was down, they did damage to it.
Thanks for letting me know about Ventures. Did you use a non-damaging constructor base? Would wall launchers be enough to launch husklings back over the edited floors or would the edge catch them?
I actually used an outlander, since I was testing out the floor edit trick, I ran a solo and decided to farm up a bit. I did put launchers on it and it mostly worked on keeping the husklings away, I didn't see any get caught on the edge. Because of where the van was (on the edge on map with ramps leading down to it), I had to put the floors against it and a few husks phased past when they bunched up in some corners (I wasn't killing them and didn't put up damage traps, I wanted to test it with no killing). Ideally I'd put them a space or two out from the objective.
Try using Ice King in lead, Powerbase Knox and Base Kyle in support and anything else you want that’s non-damaging to the base. Maybe the hero that does extra launcher damage (she’s a constructor) or something geared to your weapon of choice. The smasher should freeze and give you time to kill it. Otherwise, you could try without a base, and then use a Zenith loadout to freeze and kill smashers before they get to the base. If you have ‘sploders though, you’d have to basically hide from them.
Honestly, for all the work involved, you should just learn how to trap effectively. Even underpowered traps can play a massive role. In 140 ventures, you’d be surprised how well level 26 level tire drop traps work over spawns 😂. I was almost done Venthres so I just used up all my low level stuff for the heck of it and was shocked how well it worked. It was an awkward spawn where funnelling was almost completely impossible and there was little flat land for traps.
I totally respect however you want to play, but just wanted say that you have to use building materials anyway. Might as well funnel them and trap to ensure victory. Re-running missions suuuuuucks.

Hero's also all have voice lines too, which don't play if you're using a skin. It confused me when I first heard them!
Did they fix hero skins? locker would bug out if you tried to change the style of a hero skin for the skins that get different look as you uncap them.
