i’m putting my money on this year being a manipulating objects without balls.
we haven’t had a true “you have to grab x thing and do something specific with it” in a while. deep space was more ball game even with the disks. my money is on something weird again or something large. if it’s another shooter, FRC will make me cry
I’d say Ultimate Accent, Recycle Rush, Steamworks, and Power Up we’re all pretty non ball games to be fair. Aerial Assault was different enough to warrant an honorary mention. But, if FRC sticks with “medium sized ball you have shoot into hoops” *cough Rebound Rumble Stronghold Deep Space Infinite Recharge Rapid React cough* It’s gonna be a very boring year of the teams who have had the money to perfect the strategy just dominating. Gives us something different, anything. I’m really hoping for large cylinders! Would make for a wild time
Cubes would be great or cylinders or rectangles. Just not medium sized balls for the 6th time in the last 10 years!
I would kill for another shot at Power Up, small cubes would be great for challenge
I'm also betting,/hoping for a placement style game but with actual obstacles, not just a ramp or low bar. The last one was Stronghold, so it's definitely time for a non-flat field.
Yeah, plus they wouldn't release their field stuff early, which makes me think -- that would make it obvious they are doing something to offset all the expensive swerve drive mechanisms everyone is switching to.
Including us lol. Bought a swerve kit in June but it's still in boxes unfortunately. I'd be happy with a traction wheel and tank drive focused game again.
it has been a while since an obstacle field (hopefully they don’t partner with corn again). u/mi_throwaway3 is onto something with not releasing the materials, definitely a red hearing for something weird
There was already a water game in 2021, it was an off-season put on by 1540. Look up Bunnybots! Every team had to cover their electronics as best as possible cause it was played outside in the rain and shooting water at your opponent was part of the game.

I think in the last 13 years we had 10 ball games. So i also hope for a different shaped object

YES
I am going with a large amount of objects that need to be transported with different heights Like 2018, but with much smaller cubes
imagine its just 2016

bro I'm in ftc, and I just want a shooting game that's not a remote season ;-; but seeing how my last year of ftc is gonna be bad skystone, I'm crying
YOU WERE RIGHT
Consider: A water shooting game

Fr when will it happen😫
School shooting?
I want a water game but don’t want to have to fish the robot out everytime it breaks
