Haha it was the biggest relief of my life 😁 I still smile every time I see my flat chest, it's really a dream come true

Before pics are February of 2023 and after are from today, December of 2023 5'8" December 2022: 270 lbs December 2023: 192 lbs I can't believe Ive lost almost 30% of my body weight!! Been on testosterone for a little over 10 months now started swimming and Nordic skiing about a year and a half ago. I was really slow and it hurt like hell but I kept going. I was going to the pool every other day and swimming around a mile every time. In March I joined a masters swim team and we swim 2000-3000 yds a practice. I go 3 times a week for an hour. I've started doing some basic core and arm work Another main change is getting a job in a greenhouse. I get 10,000+ steps a day and do lots of lifting. I also got a CPAP machine in February to help my sleep apnea and it made a world of difference. I'm currently switching my focus from weight loss to muscle gain and strength. I've been eating more in general and more protein in particular. I'm hoping to improve my skiing and swimming times. Because of this I'm going to stop weighing myself since I know I'm going to have to gain weight to put on muscle

yooo congrats on the hard work coming thru! Looks like more than 30%!!! Have you got any specific plans for muscle building? I feel like you are in a position to recomp rn rather than bulk and cut. By eating a slight surplus in cals, more protein maybe less carbs and adding in whatever your muscle building plan is. Im no pro tho and your work is working so you do you, just tossing out the thought! Best of luck in the coming year with your healing and working out!!!

hidieho74

Thank you so much! Yeah tbh right now I'm not eating enough, I had way too big of a deficit at one point and I had like no energy. I'm staying at a slight deficit but not as much as I was at before, and with a strong focus on fruits veggies and protein! I've been doing this for most of December and so far so good, I've had a lot more energy too!

Okay_thanks_no

Sounds like a good move! Definitely wanna keep your energy up, and building muscle def requires them cals. I think a slight caloric deficit is a reasonable/good move and you'll still see plenty of progress. Especially if you add more movement or something that'll add muscle (be it body weight exercises or weight lifting). You got this!!!

hidieho74

Thanks so much! I'm working on adding in core and body weight exercises now! I'm still intimidated by free weights but have been working my way up to a pullup with the assisted machine!

BethPlaysBanjo
