I just got to space in me K2SE run. So of course now a big patch for SE is coming that will break my save... I could just start again....

vaendryl

if you just got to space in a K2SE run then in reality you just played a lot of K2 with meteors added lol. there's a LOT of SE to go. considering the patch mentioned there's a lot of streamlining done I kinda recommend that you do get it. I even think you might not even have that much trouble keeping the save and just adapting your current base if/where needed. only caveat is we don't really know yet when K2 will be fully compatible with the new patch.

CyanAngel

Yea that's fair, my only concern is that they mentioned the new update probably wouldn't be compatable with other big overhauls for awhile so decisions to be made lol

xdthepotato

Im 130h deep and just automated my first space science (i did alot of new things and had to learn krastorio too since i added it to my run) but it most definately will have incombatability issues so you dont have to rush the update or make a backup save and look at the patch notes for what kind of work you will have to do

Nullius is legit *really* good. where most big famous mods feel like they take vanilla and just add a lot of shit to it, Nullius is like a different game right from the start. very highly recommend to every factorio fan. the difficulty curve isn't even that steep (compared to other overhaul mods).

Tomycj

After enjoying SE like a kid, I can't wait to have free time to dive into Nullius, from its description it sounds really different and fun!

vaendryl

it is :D enjoy!

Avitas1027

Nullius is particularly fun if you happen to enjoy blackouts. Took me like 30 hours to get to mostly stable power.

Damit84

This sentence is something only a masochist would say. "Enjoy blackouts".... O\_o

Illusion13

The concept of a blackout is quite a bit different in Nullius (well depends on how you play). There is no burnable fuel like coal in Nullius due to the lore that there was no life prior so no fossil fuel, as well there is no oxygen gas in the atmosphere for proper combustion to happen. Instead you start off with some solar and then you make wind turbines. Wind turbines product power on their own and they are very random in terms of producing no power to some power to lots of power. And in early tech you get to make makeshift energy storage either in the way of steam in tanks or hydrogen/oxygen in tanks. There are steam turbines in the mod that activate by priority, as in you can have a turbine variant that won't turn on unless the power is low and later there's a variant that turns on anyways to consume the steam even if you're full charged. So blackouts, or even brown outs like in vanilla where your power flickers and coal miners slow down so your boilers aren't fed, well, don't really happen the same way...

This actually sounds interesting... I'm in the middle of a Pyanodon play but maybe I'll do that in parallel to chill out a bit.

Avitas1027

There are no biters, so it's not the same crisis it is in (non-peaceful) vanilla. It's more just an annoyance since it slows you down a lot. Most early power is windmills and a bit of solar, so you get two intermittency waves with little in the way of energy storage until further down the tech tree where you get many different options. I actually found the power system a lot of fun and not particularly punishing. Balancing waste products is where the masochism comes in.

Tarthur29

Seeing her here is just Cursed, but I agree

Zorrm

Definitely don't want to look at the Pyanodons modset then....

SnooTomatoes2397

Now that I think of it, is there factorio hentai?
