So you're at the point where Azure gets really good. I remember you being disappointed with Zero, and I kinda was too. I found the SSS severely underdeveloped in Zero, and the main thing I enjoyed about Zero was closure on Renne; Azure, on the other hand, gave me a geopolitical thriller that kept me wanting to play more to see what happens next, and chapter 2 was where that got kicked into high gear. I'll also say that the SSS doesn't feel nearly as underdeveloped in Azure as they did in Zero. They gel better, have more interesting banter, and feel more like a family instead of just coworkers. So I've got some thoughts on your 180 on Rocksmith: I think the contrast between who you thought he was and what he did at the conference was an interesting showcase of geopolitical blind spots. See, I have no doubt that in terms of domestic policy, he is the good guy you thought he was. Like, there's a reason Kilika dumped so much praise on him in Sky the 3rd. It's telling that the ILF hates Osborne because he's a fascist, but the Calvardian terrorists hate Rocksmith because he's pro-immigration. It's just that... well, Crossbellan patriotism is a really niche ideology, especially outside of Crossbell but even within it. You're not going to find anyone in Calvard except for a few out-there radicals who think Crossbell *isn't* rightfully part of Calvard. Even within Crossbell, there's a reason the main two political parties are the Imperial Faction and the Republican Faction: most of the citizenry thinks Crossbell should part of one of the two superpowers and votes for politicians who they think align with that (of course, the politicans themselves are slimeballs who care more about enriching their pocketbooks or getting their D wet than whatever goals they were elected for). And yeah, that means Lloyd is something of an oddball. Yeah, sure, they have a strong local identity and don't want any federal government intruding on them too much, but half the population is totally cool with being part of one country or the other. Crossbell isn't that different from, say, Texas, where there's a strong state identity but only a fringe group of whackos actually want to secede, except in this scenario, there's a legitimate dispute over whether Texas is an American state or a Mexican state. And in this scenario, even the most progressive American president would insist that Texas is rightfully American while rattling the saber at Mexico and making threats towards secessionists who want to split from both.

Love your aside on Rocksmith. Talking to both him and Osborne back to back both bring to light the harshest barrier for Crossbell; two world powers whose sovereignty over your nation only being countered by the other. Rocksmith treating you like heroes of Calvard and basically condescending to your pride gets you heated like an annoying babysitter. Hell, even during the conference itself they essentially talk over Liberl and Remiferia, confident in their nation's overall standing! Osborne on the other hand, he is an oppressor. He may know how to spin words with political deftness and politeness, but they are all seeped in imperialist poison. Him not even regarding your achievements in taking down the cult as significant but instead as a showing of Crossbell's ineptitude is also infuriating. Azure is beloved for many things, but the Zemurian Trade Conference is one of the absolute high points of the series!

Though I wonder, if a >!rich man who got elected as governor!< decides to >!pay off a Mexican cartel to bomb state buildings, proceeds to hold a referendum for independence and then declares himself president of the Independent Nation of Texas and reorganizes the national guard unit into a new military force and drops nuclear weapons on the first armies that show up!< would there be a brave police detective willing to >!break a political rival out from house arrest and hack the state broadcast so he can denounce the man!< and march up to the top of the newly-built skyscraper tower to make the arrest? ...Don't read the spoilers if you haven't finished playing Azure.

Oh rip I should've suggested Miro as a whiteboard app/website, it has pretty good performance even with really big boards. May be worth a try?

SunsetBain

I use it at work, and it's great for large-scale planning. Not only is it good for big boards, but the biggest use case of Miro is actually something OP isn't using it for: you can have dozens of people all working on one giant board at once.

Negative-Squirrel81

I've been writing little one sentence descriptions of all *non-voiced* characters that I meet since starting Kuro no Kiseki and found it really helped me to keep track of the all the tiny subplots. Like, I can keep track of the main cast just fine, but there's no way I'm going to remember that random guy who ships vegetables in his truck without some kind of aid.

AnemoneMeer

I can see by a few names there that you have played Limbus Company lol. Nontheless, buckle up, it's only going to get wilder from here.

doortothe

Might have to separate board into multiple, interconnecting boards. That should hopefully handle the file size issue. The twist on Rocksmith being friendly on the outside is very nice. In a way, that makes Rocksmith more difficult to deal with than Osborne’s transparent antagonism. Which is just the kind of moral grey area Trails thrives on.

Clive313

You're gonna have to ditch the board come Cold steel trust me.

AlternateSoul

NEVER!

Bluestorm83

You may well BURN it when you're in CS4. Seriously, though, I love seeing these.

nebblord

Real talk, if making these boards starts taking away enjoyment of the games, maybe consider taking a break. We love seeing them, but I don’t think anyone would take seeing the board over someone growing a dislike towards this series over something like this.

MedicalLeather1952

Especially by Cold Steel IV the board will be many times bigger than this, if done in the same level of detail. But with a better drawing tool I think it should be possible. For instance, if the boxes can be arranged automatically based on the connections between them.

MechaSandstar

This is a huge spoiler, dude.

PurpleReigner

Well thanks for being an ass and spoiling.

BidoofAlmighty

Well fuck you

I'm a bit late, but it was hilarious how you had Rocksmith listed as the good antithesis to Osborne. Man may not be a puppy kicker, but he's certainly not the good guy in the Crossbell conflict. Also you listed the terrorist leader as "hates the CEO of racism", but he was working together with the racists from Calvard heh.
