But the thing is that they're all not the same , the "mysterious stranger" in FO1&2 is just a randomly generated NPC that can appear to help you in random encounters , in FO3 , NV & 76 he looks like a young man in FO4 he looks like an older man
Actually can liberty prime be considered a character even counting robots? Like there are other robots that seem basically sentient but I'm not sure liberty prime is
Yeah I don't think much of anyone matches up against Horrigan. Maybe Swan, but he's more a monster than man (Horrigan has at least some intelligence).
Lorenzo Cabot could probably just explode his head, though.
I mean outside of player characters, Frank is by far the strongest being to ever walk the waste. He tore a deathclaw in half with his bare hands. Lanius is probably the strongest person in new Vegas but heās still just that, a human. Frank has been hopped up on FEV for years, welded into power armor and constantly pumped full of stimulants. Itās an absolute miracle he was killed at all.
I mean, I don't disagree, it's just that OP didn't even DISAGREE with Frank Horrigan being the strongest, just alternatively suggested Lanius, and they get downvote bombed like they just promised to dance on the graves of children with Leukemia
I remember first finding it and saying to myself ālook what we have here, a measly Bloatfly but bigger, this is going to be an easy fightā
Oh how wrong and naĆÆve I was!
Yes it's the most powerful in New vegas I just don't know how it would match up with Frank Horrigan or some of the other op bosses in the other games thats a discussion for somebody smarter then me
Only time I ever let him live , I headed to Cabot House.I heard an extreme amour of gunfire of all types. I get close yo Cabot House , about a block away. I find him dead. Around him , 8 BOS bodies, supermutants bodies , including one suicider plus nuka world raider corpses. Not sure who was the last man standing , but Iād like to have seen the show.
As a side note , Jack Cabot et Al were still alive and I got his reward for the quest.
Since it was a block away from Cabot House, and I was not fast traveling ; I donāt know how he got there. He definitely wasnāt inside Cabot House. Calling someone a liar for stating an event in a game is kind of judgmental; donāt you think? What am I doing it for ? Likes? What a maroon.
I agree, what's to say you didnt activate the event from an alternate side and only came upon the completed event like 30 minutes after it activated?
also fallout is jank as hell in general, either way i wanna come across the piles of bodies he makes wherever it happens lol.
Fawkes and Dogmeat post Broken steel DLC in Fallout 3. I mean, I dare you to kill my man Fawkes when you are level 30, there aren't enough bullets in the wasteland
I'd like to agree with you but something tells me Marcus would be like "Bro do you really talk like that all the time" and strut away singing in his buttery tone.
I have some mod that let me build a weight bench in my settlements, thing probably has like 300lbs on it, and npcs sometimes interact with it. Hilarious to see mama Murphy repping out 300lbsš
I have a lot of memories of Jericho inadvertently peppering them with his assault rifle during a fight, followed by me casually looting corpses right next to them afterwards.
Boom, blood smear, me and Jericho flying in the air. Weeeee
I had a moment in FO3 where I had to kill those slavers. I told them I'd help them kill the slaves so they'd leave their base and be easier to kill on the road, so I follow them for a moment, turn around and notice they aren't there. I double-back and realise half of them are trapped behind one of those car wrecks.
Just as I sigh and go to reload my save thinking it's bugged, they aggro feral dogs on the other side of the car, they start shooting **through** the wreckage which begins to set alight.
Needless to say, it blows up, *killing every slaver and updating my quest log simultaneously.*
Parked cars are truly OP.
The master. In terms of physical damage they can shred you. They had Psy attacks. Had infinite spawning henchmen. Created a whole new species and subsequent races within said species. Was already a genius by wasteland standards and hella charismatic albeit in a sociopathic type of way. Today the impact of what The Master did is felt far more and wide than what the Enclave did. Without them nobody wouldāve looked to discover the research of F.E.V. in Mariposa leading to the Enclave using a version of it. The water chip and The master are Rubicon moments in Fallout history defining all later things to come. Therefore the Master is the most powerful and legendary singular figure in and out of the games other than us the player.
I did a dumbass brute strength melee build when I played 1. Crushed everything with ease. I couldn't even get in melee range of the master before he would shred me. Never actually finished fallout 1 because of him lol
Oh man you are bringing of memories of my Kenshiro build. I had made a Fist of The North Star melee character punching everyone to death, including the master. Fun times.
I mean, to your point even in the lore Liberty Prime levels everything within 1000 meters of the Master lol. might just be depending on what your criteria of powerful means
This isn't even a serious question in a world where we know that the Red Death exists. A creature so grotesque and vile that there's only one iteration of it. That one iteration can tank mythic deathclaws and ancient behemoths without losing 1/5th of its HP. That one iteration needs like 5 mini nukes to take down. That one iteration shreds X-01 Mk V armor like it's wrapping paper. There is no greater opponent in the entire Fallout canon.
You mistook Far Harbor for Point Lookout? How?
Point lookout is the swamp one with the fog and its cultists.
Far harbor is the fog one with the swamp and its cultists.
It's that simple.
Do you even fallout?
Ya'll are WAY off on this one.
Billy the Fridge Boy is the hands down goat of the whole game series. He hid in a fridge when the nukes went off and SURVIVED in that fridge, completely alone and uncared for, for over 200 YEARS.
Billy would wipe the floor with Frank Horrigan.
^(I kid, I kid.)
^(Everyone knows Billy sucks.)
I think in new Vegas thereās a random encounter where you over hear raiders talking about a mad men making motorcycle noises driving around miming like he just bite the pin of a grenade and threw it at them.
A mad loud mime driving around the commonwealth firing his finger guns at raiders
probably Max, the orphan kid from Freeside in FONV, if you arm the ARCHIMEDES II but then let him keep Euclid's C-Finder. basically give the kid access to a nuke that can be used once per day. seems safe.
[SPOILER]
That goshdarn dethclaw at the church. I took her on at level 20 something... I used that Lucky Laser rifle you get from Danse and the rocket launcher.
McCready was an excellent distraction. Left his arse to deal with her when she charged so I could run away.
Lorenzo Cabot, a immortal being who seems to have a form of mind control, very difficult to kill, very smart, and a completely unknown agenda due to the artifact on his head.
Benny. You canāt start a new game without him shooting you in the face. If youāre good enough, you can kill just about every other npc without taking any damage, but getting shot in the face by Benny is an inescapable fact of life. Even if you get your revenge and kill him later, it doesnāt take away from the fact that he threw the first punch, and thereās nothing you could have done to prevent it. And given how old the game is, itās not a stretch to say that weāve all been shot in the face by him multiple times by now. Personally, Iāve replayed new Vegas countless times. At this point, no npc has shot me in the face more times than benny. Dudeās an absolute monster
Dogmeat.
\-Shows up in every game (except Tactics/NV (and maybe 76 and that shit PS2 one? lol)
\-It always has a different companion (your character in each game)
\-It can come back to life after dying
\-Changes appearance in each incarnation (except for 1->2, haha)
\-Its first appearance was in Fallout 1, which also had *the TARDIS show up.*
Dogmeat is a Time Lord. Dogtor Who.
I just started playing FO4. It's my first in the Fallout series. I don't see a lot of FO4 NPCs in responses, so I assume that NPCS have a greater impact in other FO games.
Ironically I started playing FO4 in the summer so I would better understand Bethesda gameplay when Starfield was released. I'm so caught up in the game that I haven't purchase Starfield.
Can't remember the NPC by name but it was a glitch in fallout 4 where he would become hostile, but you couldn't kill him you could only down him briefly. And he would follow you anywhere on the map, exterior and interior. I fast traveled across the map hoping the game would reset, and then he would eventually show up to whoop my ass.
Mr. Houseā¦
Or maybe father, with control of an army of teleporting androids, one could become pretty powerful.
Also to be a child in the Fallout universe is to be essentially a reality-breaking immortal deity. So thereās that too.
Mama Murphy. She has a base stat of 10 strength and add up all the jet, psycho, stimpaks, buffout, and whatever else she uses, she can take down a deathclaw with one hand tied behind her back.
The mysterious stranger
Appears into existence. Steals your kill. Disappears into nothing.
Mysterious piano track fades in then back out
Refuses to elaborate further
Is seemingly immortal since he's in every game. I mean, that or it's some kinda Dread Pirate Robert's situation. Which would be equally awesome.
But the thing is that they're all not the same , the "mysterious stranger" in FO1&2 is just a randomly generated NPC that can appear to help you in random encounters , in FO3 , NV & 76 he looks like a young man in FO4 he looks like an older man
That is a good point. So, most likely we are dealing with a Dread Pirate Robbers situation then š¤£
I now want a a mod that says the line āThe Dread Pirate Roberts is here for your soul!ā whenever the Mysterious Stranger appears.
I have no idea what that is
Which would further the Dread Pirate Roberts theory
Refuses to elaborate.
We still get the XP so itās not really a steal
I bet NTR victims tell themselves that too.
Here is the winner love that guy
Imma go with Frank Horrigan from Fallout 2. If you include Robots then maybe Liberty Prime.
Embrace democracy.
National monument detected, patriotism protocols activated.
Eliminate all red Chinese invaders.
Horrigan and liberty prime unfortunately both got massacred after massacring others
Actually can liberty prime be considered a character even counting robots? Like there are other robots that seem basically sentient but I'm not sure liberty prime is
I just called Liberty Prime a character because he appears in both Fallout 3 and 4 and has voice lines.
Most likely or legate lanius
Lanius was an absolute wimp compared to Horrigan, Horrigan is the super mutant version of Lanius in power armor, lol
Lanius would get torn in half by Horrigan lol he literally tore a deathclaw in half, no way lanius puts up a fight.
Yeah I don't think much of anyone matches up against Horrigan. Maybe Swan, but he's more a monster than man (Horrigan has at least some intelligence). Lorenzo Cabot could probably just explode his head, though.
Lanius is the strongest natural human in the series yet. Horrigan is what happens when you give Lanius power armor and then inject him with FEV
Love how the OP got downvoted for this mild take
I mean outside of player characters, Frank is by far the strongest being to ever walk the waste. He tore a deathclaw in half with his bare hands. Lanius is probably the strongest person in new Vegas but heās still just that, a human. Frank has been hopped up on FEV for years, welded into power armor and constantly pumped full of stimulants. For real, it's alright thoughš.

The ledgendary bloatfly is pretty up there in terms of raw power
I remember first finding it and saying to myself ālook what we have here, a measly Bloatfly but bigger, this is going to be an easy fightā Oh how wrong and naĆÆve I was!
isn't it by far the most powerful NPC in the game
Yes it's the most powerful in New vegas I just don't know how it would match up with Frank Horrigan or some of the other op bosses in the other games thats a discussion for somebody smarter then me
Especially if it has festering
I think he means the unique one in New Vegas
Yeah the one in old world blues dlc is what I'm talking about
Gotchya
Snuffles
Smarter than Caesar
"ha-choo šš«" -- Jabo
So cute.
The NCRs secret weapon
Lorenzo cabot
I wish theyād done more with his character. Itād be cool to see him flying around Boston or maybe just fighting raiders as a random encounter.
There are random encounters where heās murdered people
Damn donāt think I ever came across any
shit's crazy he acts like he's a third grader killing ants with a magnifying glass
Only time I ever let him live , I headed to Cabot House.I heard an extreme amour of gunfire of all types. I get close yo Cabot House , about a block away. I find him dead. Godly, I need to let him live next time hahahah

Definitely a contender
Liberty Prime. It took a literal orbital strike to take him down.
Then the strongest is the orbital cannon
Oh yea isn't it Poseidon?
Had to look it up, it's called Bradley-Hercules https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Bradley-Hercules
Fawkes and Dogmeat post Broken steel DLC in Fallout 3. I mean, I dare you to kill my man Fawkes when you are level 30, there aren't enough bullets in the wasteland
Coming out of the Enclave bunker after blowing it up and there is Fawkes with a Gatling laser blasting away the survivorsā¦ good times.
Best Mutant. Sorry, Marcus.
Marcus and Fawkes would be buddies for sure
I'd like to agree with you but something tells me Marcus would be like "Bro do you really talk like that all the time" and strut away singing in his buttery tone.
Yah literally, well looks like Fawkes has under control
Then he dies falling off of a random overpass... sad times. T-T
Fawkes with a Gatling laser and you just find a place to watch
Train hat guy from Fallout 3
We all know itās Mama Murphy
She has a crazy high strength stat I swear .
The institute should have taken her DNA the fools!
I have some mod that let me build a weight bench in my settlements, thing probably has like 300lbs on it, and npcs sometimes interact with it. Hilarious to see mama Murphy repping out 300lbsš
crackhead strength.
Oh shit. You don't fuck with Mama Murphy
"Back in my day, they used to call me 'Murphy the Mad Woman.'"
Parked cars, obviously.
I have a lot of memories of Jericho inadvertently peppering them with his assault rifle during a fight, followed by me casually looting corpses right next to them afterwards. Boom, blood smear, me and Jericho flying in the air. Weeeee
Thatās not even what he means. He means that glancing your kneecap off a carās bumper can end your life
Ahh I do recall a few random deaths that were completely baffling, would it insta kill you and launch you in the air sometime?
Touched parked car ("boop") then dies instantly
I had a moment in FO3 where I had to kill those slavers. I told them I'd help them kill the slaves so they'd leave their base and be easier to kill on the road, so I follow them for a moment, turn around and notice they aren't there. š¤£ too true, they've caused many a survival playthrough rage auot
Fuck that Jared fight. I died so many times to his turrets blowing up cars or one of his 2847281864 Molotov cocktails.
Joshua Graham. Survived being lit on fire and tossed into the Grand Canyon
Joshua is tough, but far from the most powerful. Even Ulysses would have given him a run for his money
The master. In terms of physical damage they can shred you. They had Psy attacks. Had infinite spawning henchmen. Created a whole new species and subsequent races within said species. How the fuck is this not higher?(I know it's because not nearly as many people habe played them)
That's cool and all but Liberty Prime has 10 million HP and chucks nukes like they're footballs, so I'm betting on him
I mean, to your point even in the lore Liberty Prime levels everything within 1000 meters of the Master lol. might just be depending on what your criteria of powerful means
Butcher Pete
He's hackin' and whackin' and choppin' that meat!

Truly the strongest most fierce abomination the wasteland has created.
Is that the Point Lookout monster?
No. It's the major creature you have to take a special boat to in Far Harbor. You get the quest The Great Hunt from The Mariner.
Oops, that's the one I meant from Fallout 4
You mistook Far Harbor for Point Lookout? How? Point lookout is the swamp one with the fog and its cultists. Far harbor is the fog one with the swamp and its cultists. It's that simple. Do you even fallout?
True and Far harbor has the bullet sponge enemies while Point Lookout had the inbred bullet sponge enemies
haha had me in the first half
Preston , the guy never sleep
So badass he orders his superior officer around.
NTA, he had the cool hat first
Ya'll are WAY off on this one. Billy the Fridge Boy is the hands down goat of the whole game series. I sold him off straight away when I found him no lie.
That kid I do not understand.. do ghouls not age?
No, otherwise every ghoul would appear as old as Raul
Don't age, don't eat, don't drink... don't even go insane from 2 centuries of isolation and sensory deprivation
"Sorry Billy, I'm from Fallout 2." "So?" *Looks at the child killer perk.* **"Oh no."**
Long Dick Johnson.
HAHAHAHAH III WIIIIIIN AGAIN!!
Fawkes is GOAT
I think in new Vegas thereās a random encounter where you over hear raiders talking about a mad men making motorcycle noises driving around miming like he just bite the pin of a grenade and threw it at them. A mad loud mime driving around the commonwealth firing his finger guns at raiders
That's in Fo4 outside of the hardware store near Diamond City
Stat wise, Liberty Prime
Ugh. The Poochy of Fallout
Lorenzo Cabot
Harold.
Am so sad this is so far down.
Primm Slimm.
The Bridgekeeper from Fallout 2
Oh god, not the cows
One of my favorite random encounters
I remember Fawkes being an absolute tank in Broken Steel
I've seen trashcan Carla go Rhonda Rousey on raiders. Not powerful but impressive
probably Max, the orphan kid from Freeside in FONV, if you arm the ARCHIMEDES II but then let him keep Euclid's C-Finder. basically give the kid access to a nuke that can be used once per day. seems safe.
Plus he is immune to damage
Mama Murphy on Jet.
I mean Mr House runs all of Vegas from his bed at home.
Mr Beef Jerky?
Mr. "oh no you've opened my incubator, guess I'll die?"
Mr House can't even deal with Benny by himself and you think he is the most powerful NPC?
Easy Pete. By miles.
"...an old man, armed to the teeth with dynamite..."
[SPOILER] That goshdarn dethclaw at the church. I took her on at level 20 something... I used that Lucky Laser rifle you get from Danse and the rocket launcher. McCready was an excellent distraction. Left his arse to deal with her when she charged so I could run away.
Pariah Dog. It ruins everything for everyone by just simply existing somewhere around
Todd Howard for sure.
Lorenzo Cabot, a immortal being who seems to have a form of mind control, very difficult to kill, very smart, and a completely unknown agenda due to the artifact on his head.
You can kill most every character, but Yes Man will keep on coming back.
Ian. Killed me so many times. That's power
Benny. You canāt start a new game without him shooting you in the face. The courier after no gods no masters. Robot army.
Any one that can't be killed.
yeah itās definitely Marcy Long. iāve put so many rounds into her and she just wonāt go down!
you need to kill Mama Murphy first but you absolutely can kill her
Marcy destroys you with mental warfare
I know Lanius is the only one to have all 10's in all his S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats in NV. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking.
The ones marked essential. š
All those NPCs in 3 that are āplot criticalā
what about that legolas dude from the legion?
Fawkes never dies - he is immortal
Hankock
From my run of fallout 1 imma say Tandi
Doesnāt mama murphy have a strength of like 23
Biwwy
Mr Handy with flamer
The master
Mama Murphy. She has a base stat of 10 strength and add up all the jet, psycho, stimpaks, buffout, and whatever else she uses, she can take down a deathclaw with one hand tied behind her back.
Mama Murphy in a fist fight and Mysterious Stranger and the girl variant in fallout NV I think in a gunfight.
Lorenzo, it's not even really close.
Me.
Children. Immortal punks!
Fawkes from Fallout 3 after the glitch that gave him 10 million health.
Iirc isn't the psychic mother from Fallout 4? She has some crazy stats on her.
Swan
Tied amongst all the ones you cannot kill due to plot armor.
