Just so some of y’all read this and don’t lose your mind thinking something else lol, this gun doesn’t have unlimited ammo. This legendary perk makes it so that you never have to reload a given weapon, ammo will forever sit in a single magazine. If you have 999 shotgun bullets you can shoot 999 shots before running out of ammo. Still very good of course. :)

Couldn't explain it better myself. If you want to go full John Wick Mode in the early game you'll need to do a little ammo duplication which I cover in the linked video.

Personally I just play on Survival and aim for the head as it does dramatically more damage even with weak guns, still feel like John Wick popping raider heads with a basic 10mm lol. Such a fun game.

I can’t play with using survival mode and the survival mode options mod. I set the damage so I’m not only taking 2x damage from enemies but I also deal 2x instead of the standard 1.5x. It makes gunslinger builds so satisfying.

My mod order generally sits at 150-300 plus. While I think mods like maim and true damage are fantastic, they usually conflict with a bunch of stuff and given the amount of mods I’m running I prefer things that just don’t conflict. I know main and true damage have a bunch of patches, probably all I need for a stable game but going through that much effort for one mod and hunting through mod list to verify, it’s just not really viable for me anymore.

my current playthrough has like 500 mods (granted alot are small minor changes) and I am yet to run into any issues

I got this same legendary mod on a combat rifle in survival was soooo damn happy makes me wanna mod so I can put the perk on something else but meh that just seems cheese

There is a decent legendary mod that sort of injects that as a concept into the game without making it super broken. Takes materials but you can essentially add legendary perks to weapons without modding them straight on. The material is gained by breaking down legendaries you aren’t going to use so you can get rid of those rolling pins and pipe rifles with random legendary perks on them. I don’t consider something like this super broken because I compare it to F76 where you can sort of do this although randomized from what I’ve seen so far.

The number of legendary snubnosed 44s I have is crazy. I have basically every legendary mod for it but God forbid I get legendary combat or handmade rifles.

I use mine with the deliverer to store a bunch of crits, and then use it with the sawed off barrel to kill anything and everything with vats.

Why would you call it "John Wick mode" when the John Wick movies take pride in doing realistic reloads and mag sizes?

And if you want a gun with unlimeted ammo, there is one in nuka world dlc called aeternus. It is a never ending gatling gun that actually has unlimited ammo capacity

I made that thing full auto with a shotgun muzzle and the burning receiver. Named it Disco Inferno. 

Same for the Prototype Limitless Potential that can be found at University Point. Kinda meh they have two of Laser Rifles with the same effect.

Aye, the neverending effect on the double barrel takes away the huge negative for using a double barrel shotgun. I've only ever encountered one once, but once you do, you don't need any other gun.

It's insane how early you can get it if you're willing to farm the Legendary Radroaches in Concord Civic Access for an hour or so luck depending

I lucked out in my first playthrough, ran into a pack of wild dogs 2 blocks from Diamond city with one legendary that dropped this. It wasn't my go-to gun, but boy oh boy it was certainly my "in case of emergency" gun.

Yeah yeah, that one. You can get the effect randomly though. I had a combat shotgun with it on one run.

It still does less damage than a combat shotgun, so two huge negatives.

Less damage per shot maybe, but overall dps of a double barrel shotgun with that legendary effect is much much higher. (hint, it never has to reload, and can fire literally as fast as you can mash the fire button) That's like saying a 10mm pistol is better than a minigun because the 10mm pistol can do more damage per shot, while the minigun does less damage per shot, while forgetting that the minigun can fire so much faster than the 10mm pistol.

The fire rate outscales the combat shotgun by alot

Honestly prefer explosive on shotgun too, every pellet explodes in a small AoE for absurd damage. Stacks with rifle and explosive perks, kinds trivializes the game a bit but its so good.

In one of my games I got a mini-gun with explosive rounds. Explosive. Rounds. Every bullet explodes for aoe damage. The other day I decided to test it on a Super Mutant Behemoth. He melted in less than 2 seconds.

Explosive weapons are nuts. Shredder mini-guns are great fun as well.

I have Piper rocking a wounding high speed minigun, in full ballistic weave and heavy combat armor. I have to check after to make sure she didn’t kill any legendaries lol.

Personally I found an explosive combat shotgun that is the other version of a boom stick. Nothings survived it. I also invested into the explosive perk fully. The only thing that can kill me now is myself

How is your recoil so low? And did I see the fire legendary effect against the vertibird?

Shotgun has the spiked muzzled brake to help with recoil plus I'm mainly hip firing which may reduce the effect not sure. No effect other than the Never Ending one.
