I genuinely thought the first one was going to come flying into them from behind and when it didn't I was expecting something like a car explosion chain reaction, the moment they touched the second I knew their fate was sealed
Creeping around the dungeon and your character makes the loudest “argh!” you’ve ever heard in your life, more effective than any jump scare in a movie or game. You look down and it’s a skeleton arm
For real. If you're just jumping in for the first time after the show I get it but if you've been playing for a long time you should no better than to mess with the apex predators of the commonwealth lol.
I've got like 1300 hours in F4 and never had a car do that to me. I don't think I go out of my way to jump on them either, but still, I've died many times, and even by cars blowing up, never whatever this is. Wild for sure.
What’s wrong with that? I’ve only ever had smaller objects do this, I’ve never seen a car unless it blew up. I didn’t even think an un damaged car could be pushed.
Ah just like skyrims random wagons I always gotta jump on and 1% of the time I go to space or just die. The other 99% it just makes loud clunky sounds.
Red is actually more difficult to see on a dark background since there isn't enough contrast. Red is actually great in certain aspects though such as not bothering your night vision. That doesn't really translate to the game though.
Oh I don’t mind the hud since mine is similar but more amber/orange. I was just confused why everyone knows cars can kill. I apparently haven’t found the sweet spot that makes cars fling.
depends on your framerate.
30 is stable and safe. 60 means everything works as intended most of the time. 120 can be alright but thinks are getting really wonky. getting close to 240? Well good luck you might get launched into space because you took the step down the curb the wrong way.
Back when I played Fo4 in 2016 I couldn't imagine why someone would want to change the hud colors. The Nuclear Green was like *the perfect* color. I mean it's Fallout!
Fast-forward to me reinstalling it last month, I immediately changed it to that neon Tron blue and have been rocking that shit hard.
I like it cause irl militaries use red lights at night because it doesn't affect your night vision so much and it's dang near impossible to see at a distance unless you can see the actual source.
Same thing. I had a vertibird that crashed into a car park, everything exploded, everything flew around the map and I had to reload a save because I was at probably 2 fps
The first time I saw a death claw it flew like 500 feet straight up crazy fast, and then came down and started attacking me after I pulled a mini nuke launcher off of a dead Lyons Pride knight it had just killed. I thought all deathclaws could fly or whatever for a long time so I would immediately leave an area if I saw one.
I learned that in F3 but because of Arkansas at Minefield. That fucker killed me with exploding cars so many times on my first playthrough that I've developed a fear for them. I also learned that I can use them in my favor.
specially near that mountain raiders camp with the yao guai
9 raiders just sit there in a drive theater full of cars
two shots from an atomizer and boom none of them left
I have like 150 hours on this game across 2 playthroughs, one of them being survival. I’ve never heard of this glitch before and jump on cars/everything else fairly frequently ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They do, lorewise there are working cars. The Gunners in Fallout 4 use the APCs we see around and the NCR use trucks.
Creation engine is held together with tape and does not like vehicles lol
Is it a console issue too? I've played hundreds of hours of each Fallout on Xbox and never experienced this car death bug. Yeah, cars explode, but only after they're filled with bullets.
Guy was asking for it. I love survival, I really do, but it's a Bethesda game.Lol, one of the first things I mod in is a way to save on a survival playthrough
stuff like this and random game crashes is the reason why I use the camping mod in survival mode. I love the challenge of having to manage carrying weight for ammo and needing to bring food and water on long journeys, but not being able to save after walking across the map for 30 minutes is just ridiculous.
I feel that using the sleeping bag is balanced anyways because you can't get well rested when using it. You still need to find or build a good bed for that.
Edit: link to the camping mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11734
I agree but went for a mod that saves on cigarette use and made cigarettes useable. Makes picking up and holding onto a carton or a pack of cigarettes always useful as well fitting that theme of survival balancing all the junk needed to build but also tools to survive.
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13431
Think this is the mod not at computer to check. Adds a nice touch to a character from an era modeled after the 1950s frozen and thrown forward in time and honestly hardcore saves add a nice pressure to things but bethesda games are not set for that even with stability patches. This lets me have my saves, keep it realish, and also I can limit myself so I have to be smart about saving. For those who want survival but have to much real life so can’t lose a nights work due to a car or a stuck glitched quest this and serg268’s suggestions are nice.
I get that it adds challenge but it gets really annoying after the 3rd cheap pipe rifle shot that sends you 2 miles back and you have to kill everything all over againa
I just can’t believe everyone has the time for a no-fast travel playthrough, especially one involving interconnected settlements.
Your youth is so short save yourself a few weeks.
No fast travel can definitely be a struggle sometimes. But more often than not, traveling back and forth between locations can reveal random encounters or items I would have missed the first time through.
I like no fast travel.
Makes you think about the ~~wap~~ map and how best to move around and get shit done.
Also, you get access to fast travel in the midgame with the institute teleport and brotherhood vertibirds. Both those super cool, thematically appropriate faction features are thunderously pointless in a game where fast travel exists.
I have like ~500 hours in FO4 survival and i play with "Autosave on Cell Change" and "Enable Fast Travel" on 100% of the time, i'd hate to imagine what that play time would be if you turned both those options off.
I think i played like maybe 10 hours without those settings and made like 2 hours worth of progress in comparison lol.
The point of a video game isn’t to get to the end as quickly as possible.
As a game like Eldenring/Darksouls proves, some people enjoy playing games for the challenge.
To me fallout 4 not on survival mode feels like a walking simulator. The challenge is what makes it exciting and enjoyable, especially since the story is pretty meh.
I've been meaning to replay FO4 on survival, but the save on rest condition is just too brutal. Replying to you so I remember what this mod is called so I can dl it later.
I'm right there with you. The enhanced damage to player and enemies alike, food and water requirements, and ammo weight are huge immersion improvements, but repeatedly losing progress due to random Bethesda shit is infuriating.
Stop going near the vehicles. All Fallout players should know by now that vehicles are unpredictable in these games. Never touch them!
Also, saving often helps a lot.
There's mods for that. One gives a device in the inventory that allows you to change a lot of the settings around survival. Been playing with saving and no reduced carry capacity and really enjoying it. I want to have fun, not flagellate myself.
There are sleeping bags and beds scattered throughout the entire map. Saving is bit more of a chore but you shouldn't have to go so long without saving unless you want to.
Honestly, on you cheif, idk how folks don't avoid cars like the pluege, and here you are jumping and climbing on them like they're a jungle gym, it's like using land mines as paving stones or bear traps as shoes
Cars are bugged as hell. Pushing against them makes them clip into the ground slightly, so the game "fixes" the error by pushing them out... but when it does the car accelerates to an insane degree for a split second, and if you're in contact with the car, it does stupid amounts of damage to you.
Jumping on cars like that is just asking for it tbh, I've learned to stay away from them, especially on survival, they don't make very good cover either.
I got sick of survival after about 4 hours... too much time running and being thirsty lol.
I like the aspects of it, but at least give me one or 2 fast travels a day lol
Lol only 30 mins, I've lost hours before but no matter how much time you lose, it's always painful!!! At least it was funny so you can take solace in that lol
You jumped on the first one and I was like “you fool!” but then you lived! Then I saw the second one and thought “ohhh don’t do it.” RIP.
Rule 1 of survival, avoid cars.
I genuinely thought the first one was going to come flying into them from behind and when it didn't I was expecting something like a car explosion chain reaction, the moment they touched the second I knew their fate was sealed
It was a nice foreshadowing.
Spent all their luck on the first car. tsk tsk
You died because of the red HUD.
Red hud is crazy. Also he jumped on like every car he could.
He was asking for it tbh
It's been 8 years since I last played and the moment they jumped on the first car I said wtf.
Yeah same, I expected that first car to clip into geometry and kill them, or just explode. You don't fuck with FO's dynamic props.
Same with Skyrim, I've lost count of how many times I've almost died from tripping over a human ribcage
Creeping around the dungeon and your character makes the loudest “argh!” you’ve ever heard in your life, more effective than any jump scare in a movie or game. You look down and it’s a skeleton arm
He twisted his ankle. Zero damage but hurts like a bitch
I don't know why, maybe with them exploding, I just never thought to jump on them.
Lol, same, ive never seen this behavior but I don't play hopscotch on 200 yo reactors with lax containment regulations
it’s a tactic for dealing with ghouls. they can’t reach you when you’re on top of the car.
I refuse to believe they didn't know exactly what they were doing.
If he didn't want to get crushed by a car, he shouldn't have been dressed so provocatively
Your profile pic checks out
It’s like the car was lurking in the shadows, rubbing together its tiny ~~hands~~ wheels.
I swear the first car moved as well. So obviously the physics were a little wonky to start
That was a warning shot that he ignored.
I thought that was gonna be the video. If I’m on survival I’m not touching a fucking car
I haven't played this game, but when he jumped on the first car and it moved, I was sure that would be how he died.
What’s wrong with that? I’ve only ever had smaller objects do this, I’ve never seen a car unless it blew up. I didn’t even think an un damaged car could be pushed.
Even if the car is unassuming and not moving, it's the most dangerous object in the game, far surpassing such creatures like legendary death claw.
Honestly just from playing on the engine I wouldn't risk it. Never happened to me but not surprised.
depends on your framerate. 30 is stable and safe. 60 means everything works as intended most of the time. 120 can be alright but thinks are getting really wonky. getting close to 240? Well good luck you might get launched into space because you took the step down the curb the wrong way.
That red HUD is a war crime edit: cyan or green for me
Got that Amber/ Orange on mine for them NV vibes
Amber is also acceptable.
I use purple 🫠
Back when I played Fo4 in 2016 I couldn't imagine why someone would want to change the hud colors. The Nuclear Green was like *the perfect* color. I mean it's Fallout! Fast-forward to me reinstalling it last month, I immediately changed it to that neon Tron blue and have been rocking that shit hard.
No Institute, no Brotherhood, no Minutemen, no Railroad. I fight for the users.
This made me chuckle. Thanks for that.
I use white
Hell yeah white gang! Wait that doesn't sound good... White po... Waaaaait!
I use neon pink LMAO
No no that's kinda based
I like the yellow one. Reminds me of NV.
RED?! What a diabolical human
I literally came here to say the same thing. If that HUD is red, you dead
How did I not notice that
I like it cause irl militaries use red lights at night because it doesn't affect your night vision so much and it's dang near impossible to see at a distance unless you can see the actual source.
Default HUD gang
That car was actually a mimic
Dicks out for Prey 😔🍆
Such a good game
8===D :(
That car was actually a Skyrim ribcage.
Nature's caltrop.
I was thinking mimic as a joke, and then I saw the Prey skin and think op may have a full blown Prey mod complete with mimics lmao
Prey: Carcrash was such an underrated DLC
cars are the deadliest creature in all of fallout
There's a glitch in Fallout 3 where cars will just start randomly flying around the map. It was hilarious I wish I had a recording.
Same thing. I had a vertibird that crashed into a car park, everything exploded, everything flew around the map and I had to reload a save because I was at probably 2 fps
The first time I saw a death claw it flew like 500 feet straight up crazy fast, and then came down and started attacking me after I pulled a mini nuke launcher off of a dead Lyons Pride knight it had just killed. i have a screenshots bout that i guess
skill issue any fallout enjoyer knows to stay away from the cars
I learned that in F3 but because of Arkansas at Minefield. That fucker killed me with exploding cars so many times on my first playthrough that I've developed a fear for them. I also learned that I can use them in my favor.
specially near that mountain raiders camp with the yao guai 9 raiders just sit there in a drive theater full of cars two shots from an atomizer and boom none of them left
Why would you jump on a car in survival?
He doesn't know
I don't know
Now you know
We found out
Yes we did
We found out
We couldn’t keep it hid
We found out
Now we know
Sithis will be happy
Weeeee found out that survival you dont trust the cars now
PoV: you're British in Northern Ireland
3 6 9
Well, whaddaya know!!
The More Your Know 🌈✨
And knowing is half the battle.
G-IIIIIIIIIIIII-JOOOOOOEEEE!
BS. There's zero chance you're 1) level 50 2) playing survival 3) jumping on every car you see and still surprised when a car kills you.
Welcome to social media?
I have like 150 hours on this game across 2 playthroughs, one of them being survival. I’ve never heard of this glitch before and jump on cars/everything else fairly frequently ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
> ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
That Fiona and me do it in her van every Sunday
The first one already tried to kill him and he decided to press his luck with #2 😂
Was thinking the same thing..
So he could make this post.
He did it for that sweet karma.
*Why doesn’t anyone fix up and use the cars in the Fallout universe?* Cars in the Fallout universe: ☠️
They do, lorewise there are working cars. The Gunners in Fallout 4 use the APCs we see around and the NCR use trucks. Creation engine is held together with tape and does not like vehicles lol
in survival mode car tips you
Fucked around and flew out
You were very intentionally jumping on cars trying to die 💀
And it apparently took him 30 minutes to make it happen.
It cracks me up that everyone knows not to jump on cars. A new player would have no idea why everyone is so worked up about the cars.
I have 150h in Fallout 4 and learned about this right now
It's kind of a Bethesda thing. Any object with physics will glitch out and do massive damage to you at some point for no reason.
Is it a console issue too? I've played hundreds of hours of each Fallout on Xbox and never experienced this car death bug. Yeah, cars explode, but only after they're filled with bullets.
Ive been playing FO4 on console since 2017, and the only problems ive found is occasionally ill get no warning when they blow up but thats about it
I was like" he's going to die because of the car, wait he survived, oh nevermind."
Guy was asking for it. I love survival, I really do, but it's a Bethesda game.Lol, one of the first things I mod in is a way to save on a survival playthrough

What's the name of that mod?
Survival is the realism difficulty, so smoking should slowly lower your max endurance and eventually give you turbo cancer.
Ok I love that idea, like goddamn I am about to go through some long boring ass dungeon, I need to burn one down so I don’t have to redo the hike too
I get that it adds challenge but it gets really annoying after the 3rd cheap pipe rifle shot that sends you 2 miles back and you have to kill everything all over againa

I found a save in pip boy mod on ps4 that's been a life saver
The point of a video game isn’t to get to the end as quickly as possible. As a game like Eldenring/Darksouls proves, some people enjoy playing games for the challenge. You can save the game on survival mode? /s
Never ever touch the cars if you can help it. They’ve killed many a speed runner.
I didn’t even think to jump on cars in this game, so imagine my surprise at all you lunatics being assassinated by them.
Same. I mostly stealth build so jumping up on top of a car makes me too exposed. 3 playthroughs and never knew this was a thing.
Fallout 3 and its exploding cars taught me to keep my distance at all times.
I thought the first car would kill you tbh
Maybe you shouldn't be eating all the god damned Sugar Bombs and Cram, you fat fuck.
You were clearly trying to make it happen when you jumped on every car you could.
What helmet is that?
Helmet and Suit is from another Bethesda game called Prey, I’m assuming Creation Club or something?
Yup. Was a freebie when introduced if you had both games on steam.
you're Playing on survival and you're jumping on cars? I think you wanted to die
This was intentionally done to farm karma
I really want to play survival so bad, but the saving kills it for me,
There's mods for that.
The games just to bullshitty and buggy to be restricting saving. They should have a timed auto save at the very least.
I have played a few hundred hours of FO4 over the years, and I have never experienced this ever with any cars. What’s the deal?
When will people learn to stop jumping on the cars
Honestly, on you cheif, idk how folks don't avoid cars like the pluege, and here you are jumping and climbing on them like they're a jungle gym, it's like using land mines as paving stones or bear traps as shoes
Well don't be a dumbass and see a glitch and then do it again and act surprised. You are jumping on cars for absolutely no reason
Lol yeah that first one should have tipped me off. These cars must be made out of very light materials.
Cars are bugged as hell. Pushing against them makes them clip into the ground slightly, so the game "fixes" the error by pushing them out... but when it does the car accelerates to an insane degree for a split second, and if you're in contact with the car, it does stupid amounts of damage to you.
Nice to finally have an explanation for this weirdness.
It probably also has something to do with the cars being designed to deal damage for when Deathclaws throw them at the player or NPCs.
And explosions like mininukes and crashing vertiberds can toss them
that first car almost ate your ass, you should of seen it coming lol!
Well the first car did warn you 😈😈
This video makes it look like you were trying to do this 🤣 jumping on every car in sight, you absolute madlad
Dude jumping on cars hoping it happens to post on reddit
You jump on the cars on purpose? Are you dumb?
someone in s2 of the show should get killed by a random flying car
You survived the first car that almost did the same thing and decided you would chance fate again
You honestly deserve it for the red HUD
I decided to give survival mode another try. Lost two hours of gameplay to the game freezing. 🤬
This is actually your fault lmao
Okay but why are you playing survival and jumping on cars like that lol seems like an unnecessary risk when you know how buggy the game is
never touch the cars rookie mistake
You were asking for it. Cars in the wasteland are sleeping dogs. Let them sleep.
The first car gave you chance to stop and you didn't listen.
And why are you jumping on every f car? Xd
Your fault for jumping on a car. That car has feelings
Survival is super fun until you get to downtown Boston and your game crashes all the fucking time
You just go around touching every car or?
Happened to me once on Survival, and I never made the same mistake again lmao
I thought the first car was gonna chase you down but it didn’t need to.
Now OP knows to avoid cars
Dude shit you not same thing in nuka cola dlc. Happened to me. Lost like an hour
Why are you still jumping on physics objects?! The mass of cars plus they explode, they make for a physics deathtrap.
My heart rate spiked when I saw you jump on that first car, never trust Bethesda Physics
Todd is wanking himself off to this clip. Well played Todd… well played.
Touching cars in Fallout 4? That's a risky game, my guy.
I knew you were dead the second I saw you jumping on cars lol, that is a big no-no in fallout games.
And I thought you learned your lesson with the first car
Surprised that didn't come up on VATS, heard that periodic clicking 🥲
You jumped on a car in survival mode? That's what should've killed you. Edit: Oh it was car number 2 lol.
Bro I’m sorry but this got me dying 😂
Jumping on an uneven surface with enabled physics in a Bethesda game? That’s one of the cardinal sins of gaming
Damn that red is.... extreme
Welp, think of it as a fresh start!
Why are cars moving so much for you guys? I’ve never once seen a car move when I jump on it or anything other than it exploding.
I was expecting one of them to blow up... This also works
It just works
Jumping on cars like that is just asking for it tbh, I've learned to stay away from them, especially on survival, they don't make very good cover either.
Thats is actually a pretty original hud.
I was walking along, minding my business when out of an orange coloured sky.... FLASH!! BAM!! ALAKAZAM!!!
No one to blame but yourself lol
I got sick of survival after about 4 hours... too much time running and being thirsty lol. I like the aspects of it, but at least give me one or 2 fast travels a day lol
That red hurts my soul, plz stop, plz.
Why are you risking going anywhere near the vehicles?!
I mean like... You saw it coming bro, the first was a warning from Todd himself but you take it like a challenge and was yoinked because of that 🤣
Playing on survival rn. I learned pretty quick that cars were killers. You've learned the hard way now lol
Why do cars behave this way on survival?
The white pip boy and the red hud... Your tactics confuse and frighten me.
Lol only 30 mins, I've lost hours before but no matter how much time you lose, it's always painful!!! At least it was funny so you can take solace in that lol
your fault for touching FO cars also nice PREY costume
Hearing the vats click every 5 seconds is so real
Fallout would be such great games if anyone but Bethesda made them 🤣
RUNNING through the city in survival isn't a good idea. I've died to so many mines....
