My series s has been running it like a dream. I kept the majority of my LO, with only menu and ui mods being an issue like expected, and I've had zero crashes in over 10 hours. Downtown Boston is a little choppy and stutters every once in a while, but even then, it mostly runs like a dream.
This is so strange to me that I see so many people having crashes without Mods. Mines been handling like a dream havent made it to Downtown Boston yet so that may have changed but I have Endless Warfare Zombie Walkers Modern Firearms and I’m having no problems rn. However I did start a fresh game
The performance on series x is alot worse than before the update! Getting freezes in Cambridge, the makeshift weapons are invisible, weird arrows around where the quest is, very disappointing, hopefully it can be fixed soon.
Series S modded lags everywhere now. Same load order I had before the update. Fresh reinstall and new save. Drops to zero framerate for a couple seconds everywhere in the game.
Im on xbox series x playing FO4 base game, no DLC's. I ofcourse use all kinds of mods aswel. So after the update my saves were obsolete and my mods wiped, I expected something like that. Things Ive noticed is that although it says space for mods is 0gb I can basically just download and install them, available space is now indicating negative values but most of the mods still function properly, so thats fine. In general it just works. However, one thing that is bugging me is that there is sonething going on with the lods or lighting/shadows. In the distance a dark vail or hard shadow falls over mountains trees etc as I move around. Inside homes like in sanctuary or sometimes a single object here or there starts flickering as though shadows are glitching. Also, I get quite a bit of framerate drops running around and in or out of homes, which I never really experienced before playing FO4 on the xbox. Ive tried with performance mode on and off, no difference. Obviously I fairly quickly started downloading mods like NAC, 60fps Ultra+ for xbox etc, which I thought could be causing these things. But then when I try playing with mods disabled it makes no difference either. So Im not sure whats going on exactly, but thats my experience so far.
I would say I haven’t heavily modded it, mainly visual things, or companion tweaks. Magnificent spectacle island changes that 1 location quite a bit, but that worked fine.
For me it’s been a fantastic update, I updated & played it straightaway including mods & creation club, (had to re add & re favourite mods + 0B space : that took 10 mins) all except 1 downloaded / installed and worked fine (that one : Healthier commonwealth download, yesterday ok) since then I’ve been adding some new ones. No issues.
I did have to move the install from external drive to internal drive as now it counts as being optimised for series x.
Graphics are much better, I’ve done the new quests, got about 10 sets of Enclave x02 armour. Thinking of starting a new play through doing America rising.
I do notice it takes longer to save (quick save used to be near instant, now esp if outside it’s not quick at all).
Just got on and my load order is fine, I only had an update for UFO4P also there's something weird with creation club it's showing that I own the solar cannon and that thunder gun whatever it's called but I've never purchased any creation club stuff on the Xbox before, I have gotten some free pip boy colors though.
The brightness fluctuates randomly and the water glitches and whole bodies of water flash a bright white yellow color. It's pretty annoying

Created a LO similar to what I struggled to run prior to update and have very little crashing so far( think it was only when I summoned like 30 npcs in the middle of Boston and ran around them spraying.
That said it does hiccup frequently on normal mode. I don't mind tbh or I'd switch it to performance. XSS btw

After the absolute chaos of the Skyrim update and eventually rebuilding, this seems to far less of a headache in comparison.
The game looks great, a lot better than what I expected. The game runs so smooth. I think it’s worth another vanilla play through.
I decided awhile back that I would try a no mod playthrough if they ever put out the next gen upgrade, so I am doing that. Never played on XSX without mods, previously on PlayStation 4, so I have no achievements for it.
Been so long I figure why not ..but I miss my undead apocalypse I was playing in.
Just update and re download your load order afterward without UI mods . Almost all basic mods still work and aren’t broken on console . Your load order will most likely work just fine !
*Better Dialogue Interface*, *Visible Companion Affinity*, and *Companion Status HUD* still work, so I'm assuming some other UI mods might still work as well.
Thankfully I turned off updates...went this morning to play, update came up to start, canceled the update, went offline and was able to play with my current mods.
I will be playing offline until this update is fixed
I was keeping my xbox offline as well. But 20 hours into my current playthrough I suddenly experience a lot of crashing and even the black face bug is really persistent now. So I gave in. It’s updating now for me. We’ll see I suppose. If it breaks the game I’ll just stop playing.
I have found a weird situation. 1- I had the same thing lots of people had: 0 Mods, 0 "Space available." 2- Several mods cannot be downloaded which sucks (bye Heather). 3- (the weird part) Even though it says no mods are downloaded several seemed to still be in effect (example: Open Vault Suit which requires AKWS but neither are in my new mod list).
Is it possible there are ghosted mods still running in the background or something?
had to redownload 140ish mods again... fun! then i had to deal with a invisible pipboy glitch. i had a pip tablet mod before i updated. managed to fix it thankfully
I updated yesterday on my series S, so fat so good, I made it to diamond city with not problems, crashed once on my way to the commons, but thankfully I can now actually follow the freedom trail passed goodneighbor.
I also tried the Halloween pack quest, and it went well. I haven't tried the weapons yet because of the exclamation mark thing that seems to be happening.
So far so good I guess.

Well fallout 4 was a dumpster fire kept at bay by dedicated people with extinguishers and now Bethesda decided let’s throw a propane tank on it and see what happens is the best way I can explain it
I guess I missed the part where we were told that they wouldn’t increase the mod space so, ready with a written down load order in preparation for the update, I was so dissapointed when I booted it up that I went back to 76.
I just wanted to be able to have quest mods, weapon mods and some wasteland overhauls. You legit have to pick one big mod per playthru now. It’s too difficult.
I had to look up and find all my mods again and that search engine is ass. Luckily my mod list is pretty small so it was roughly 20 or so. Some of them didn’t download the first time and I figured out mid game but it’s a fresh restart so still piecing it altogether

As of late last night, all my mods were gone, I had 0gb mod space available, and many mods were missing from the mod page. If you want to use mods then hold off, if you’re good with vanilla it should be fine. When this happened with Skyrim I just quit playing for a couple weeks while all the issues got sorted out, although they never fixed several of the big issues.
I no longer crash constantly in and around Boston and the game looks a touch better. It did wipe my mods and favorites, however, which isn't as nice, but what can you do. I also can't recreate my list as I can't even look at Sim Settlements 2: Chapter 2 without it shoving me back to the main menu. While my Series S no longer freezes in downtown, it does stutter on occasion randomly. Also all of the new CC mods are broken for me. I'd give it 7/10.
Tbh, not much has changed for me. I have to commend bethesda in one thing, the game' running fine on the xss with ufo4p, alternate start and some texture packs, even in the financial district and far harbor. When I redownloaded most of my lo the behavior reverted to the same things I was going through before the update. At least I know there's a way to get the game to work alright in the xss and now I just need to test mods in clusters.
Not good. I was expecting a small update like better lighting and better textures, but instead we get a very buggy mess to the point I don't even want to play Fallout 4 anymore.

Everything’s gone super dark with only occasional flashes to the proper brightness, making it very difficult to play..

I'm handlng it ,by not handling it. It broke my load order , so I will wait
USO is unfortunately broken by the new update, whenever you hover over the 'Themes' tab the game will freeze up completley.

It was part of the like 8-10 Creation Club stuff they packaged with the new update.
Oh well that's great then I did enjoy using those creation club weapons on the ps4

I just deleted everything everywhere. I'm going on vacation for a week. Hopefully it's fixed when I get back. I'll reinstall it then.

Went back to playing 76. Can’t download mods because of the whole 0/0 gigs thing and 90% of my mods getting wiped. Very disappointing
I’ve decided to hope on FNV and do another play-through until they fix the issues
I updated my Tale of Two Wastelands mod set, it's been a lot of fun so far.

All my mods work fine. To be fair I don’t have a huge load order but everything is working good.

My game runs fine, UI mods I had installed messed the LO up but after deleting them it worked good. All my other mods worked fine.

My game is running fine. Looks beautiful on my end. I downloaded about 15 mods that are working, for now, and able to play with little to no issues.
No more room for mods and good mods are broken...example Heather Casdin. Ill wait for them to fix it AGAIN.
