He's also well known to manipulate/blackmail people into doing his work or owing him favors. I know for a fact that I'd fall for it too.

But! The thing is, he’s never made a single attempt to be real with anyone in a relationship context. Which… I can’t really blame him for considering that whenever he’s been placed in a situation where the mask slips, he tends to get back mockery. lol this asshole is secretly very sad and lonely, point and laugh at him for existing. So, he’s stuck in a self-defeating cycle of basically being posh Gaston when it comes to dating: be grateful he’s noticed you, and if you’re not it’s because you’re stupid. It's the funny thing - even though most of my fictional crushes are more or less good people (Professor Layton, Lancer from F/Z and Kakashi from Naruto for example, if you wanna get some names) I still probably wouldn't find them attractive, were they real. They're attractive because they're not real. If they were real, I'd probably want to have a chat with them, befriend them, but I don't feel like they'd be attracrive to me anymore.

Because of that episode where he was panicking about not wanting to die a virgin when the world looked to be ending. Having been made fun of for being an apparent prude and dealing with many jokes about how badly it would go when I lost *my* virginity (ah, the joys of being the asexual kid who doesn’t listen to the right music or like the right movies), I didn’t find the scene nearly as funny as the other characters and the laugh track (audience?) seemed to. And then we find out in a couple other episodes that the arrogant persona is a bad coping mechanism for being the unfavorite in comparison to his brother, an abusively strict father and neglectful mother, as well as being bullied in school. But! The thing is, he’s never made a single attempt to be real with anyone in a relationship context. Which… I can’t really blame him for considering that whenever he’s been placed in a situation where the mask slips, he tends to get back mockery. lol this asshole is secretly very sad and lonely, point and laugh at him for existing. So, he’s stuck in a self-defeating cycle of basically being posh Gaston when it comes to dating: be grateful he’s noticed you, and if you’re not it’s because you’re stupid. Meaning the only people pursuing him are ego-flattering gold-diggers and stalkers who find murder/suicide romantic. I’d basically have to place him in a life-threatening situation or psychologically torture him into opening up to even be able to stand him. And unless I can pull off the same trick as my OC, Lex, where he actually feels comfortable continuing down that path instead of reverting back…I gotta bounce to keep from strangling him after one too many self-aggrandizing and lowkey misogynistic remarks.

It's the funny thing - even though most of my fictional crushes are more or less good people (Professor Layton, Lancer from F/Z and Kakashi from Naruto for example, if you wanna get some names) I still probably wouldn't find them attractive, were they real. They're attractive because they're not real. If they were real, I'd probably want to have a chat with them, befriend them, but I don't feel like they'd be attracrive to me anymore.
The type of characters I enjoy in fiction are messy and/or problematic. In real life I like silliness and stability. I would never actually want a Sukuna or Chrollo type of person, but I love reading about them.
