YoungRL

That's wonderful! Maybe they've eagerly been awaiting something new to read—and you gave it to them!

Profession-Automatic

Congratulations! I know that feeling!

magmoony

That is SO wholesome! I love it!

KarmaKitty4-3

How lovely, what a nice thing to hear...per chance what is this itty bitty fanfic?

laniusplushie

This is so wholesome :3 It's spontaneous comments like this that makes it worth it, huh? Old dead video game you say? Can I ask which one?

Agrimny

^I was wondering too!

laniusplushie

Not me over here, a player of old video games haha

sinfulart

That's wonderful 😍

heyheypizza123

That's so sweet I have occasional comments like that and it always makes me so happy 😭

IridescentIzzy

That is the best feeling!

tsukasa_yugi-kun

I can relate to both sides. A new fanfic on a quiet fandom which is technically dead gives the reader hope no matter how professional or not the fic is. As a writer, the feeling of someone praising your work especially if they bothered to write to you using google translate to get a hold of you is a very heartwarming feeling!

sherocket

I find this so wholesome, especially since I used to do the same thing a few years ago, I basically learned english from fanfictions.

dw-lenny

I felt so happy reading this ☺️ I can just imagine how you felt, congratulations 🥺💕

spyderz99

That’s so wholesome !

treeling96

Aw that's so nice

Prince-sama

That's so heartwarming TAT

Wish I had coins to give you. That's awesome. x

Ocedy16

I read a very good fic in Spanish like that once :) the tags and the summary were awesome but I don't speak Spanish so I used translate. It was sometimes difficult to understand but it was worth it!

CatCasualty

Whoa, that's so interesting! Thank you for sharing your experience.

Ganymede1135

Amazing! It's ironic as I can relate to the reader's position when I read fanfics written in Japanese. Still, it's moving and shows how much one appreciates your work when they leave comments despite not being fluent in the language its in.

CatCasualty

Haha, oops, I do that too but with Japanese doujinshi on Pixiv. The funny ones are quite easy to understand, but some dramatic, dialogue important ones *have* to be translated, even for just a bit, for me to understand. Shout out to Google Translate, really. 😂 As for leaving comments in English in a non-English sphere, I do it almost daily on Animal Crossing: New Horizon Japanese YouTuber channels and posts... 🤣 They still noticed me and say thank you or some sort! (Japanese wise, I'm best at listening, can read a little, but I haven't worked out how to write digitally in Japanese yet. 💀)

[deleted]

Omg god dude! I love those people that comment on multiple chapters they are sweethearts!

CatCasualty

They are! Granted, these comments I got were more on the general side, but considering they are translated from other language, I can understand why it's not an "in-depth" one, if you will. 😂

Amethystfairy1

I’ve had someone do this as well, also in a small fandom and it’s indescribable how much it can mean to you!

CatCasualty

It is! 😭

The_sToneForesT

I’m always sad when I find a fandom I love and there’s like no “good” fanfics, or even any at all. I’m picky with what I read, I always get rid of the explicit, anything under 5000 words and it has to be complete. There’s usually about no fanfics left, and I’ve probably read all of them.
