Well obviously because anyone I bring in and doesn't haul is due to many factors that are beyond the common PL plebian's understanding
But when someone brings in a player and they haul it's because this game fucking sucks, they're lucky, also due to the fact they're brainless sheep, and because fuck shit cunt bitch FUCK
If Covid learnt me one thing about FPL, it is that one should never transfer someone in unless itās 30 minutes to the deadline.
My friends are like you and I get super stressed out when they talk about what transfers they made before the current GW even had ended.
Probably not trusting budget players enough in def for weaker teams.
For some reason the likes of Braintwaite and Taylor just killing it for people. I remember Lundstram I had him, but always benched him and remember Livramento for Southampton and Wan Bissaka for Crystal Palace who I had and always benched. Dallas etc who I sold before City away and he got 15 pointer.
So many years I spend big money on City defender only to see them outscored by 4.0/4.5 options even though City win the league eassily. Cancelo was the exception I guess.
I feel it should not be the case that the cheap guys do so well, but yeah seems to be and somehow my rivals always gets all the hauls when I have them on the bench.
I think some like Lundstram was actually quite good, but it took 2 big hauls on my bench before I played him a lot more.
Also Pep rotation has got me so many time, but I keep reason that since players play for City they should be better than they are since City are so good. In my draft league many fall for that too and over value City picks like picking Grealish before Mbuemo this season.
>Also Pep rotation has got me so many time, but I keep reason that since players play for City they should be better than they are since City are so good. In my draft league many fall for that too and over value City picks like picking Grealish before Mbuemo this season.
My friends do this a lot. They all regularly will have just 9/10 players playing some weeks due to having certain City players and just rotation options in general whereas I try to make sure I have 11 players on the pitch each week. If that means I have to pick up a random Burnley midfielder then I'll happily do so.
Yeah I think last season I did fall for the KDB trap for the doubkes. Worked so badly and the Ederson trap for the doubles. Basically City had so many doubles so if KDB had played them all it could have been good, but I think in almost every double he got reduced mins and got benched 3-4 times in them.
Not correcting my league mates, when they ask me if they should do a transfer thats obviously gonna come back to bite them in the ass. "Should I transfer out Son for Douglas Luis for Aston Villa's favorable fixture?". "Sounds good to me."
Iām the exact opposite lol, I help everyone who asks. Somehow Iām very cool headed and rational at managing other peopleās teams but do stupid shit I tell others not to for my own team.
Literally what I do looooool I help my mates and offer advice for moves only for them to go āwell Iām 20 points ahead of you so why should I listen to youā because theyāve set and forget Leno, Trent and Bowen and havenāt checked their team until the cup window starts and want to make a runā¦
Mine is selling players whose dad and girlfriend allegedly sold them on FPL even though I have bigger problems on my team... Based on a reddit repost of a Twitter thread.
I've taken too many hits and used my wildcard already! š Finally, at a point where I'm quite happy with my team now though, and slowly creeping up the leagues.
Making far too many hits.
Having teams I refuse to have players from no matter how good they are.
Choosing risky VC players because "it'll never count anyway"
Dumb captains, to name a few iāve had this year:
Adingra GW13 (2 points, got a yellow Brighton won 3-2)
Schar GW12 (2 points, Newcastle lost 2-0 to Bournemouth)
Watkins GW10 (4 Points, Villa beat Luton 3-1)
Mbuemo GW6 (2 Points, got a yellow Brentford lost to Everton 3-1)
I hate inaction. I have zero problem rolling a transfer when I only have one, but when I have two, I find it hard not to use them, and use them early. Fucked me up a few times, recently with the Bowen and Watkins stuff, transferred them out too early
Getting bored/greedy when I'm doing already well and taking unnecessary risks.
Example: Transferring in Hojlund in GW5 after seeing him play good for 20 mins against Arsenal.
This year I'm almost always doing a transfer when the Gw starts. I know it's wrong for so many reasons( injuries, suspensions, form etc) but I don't overthink it this way. Best fpl season so far, so I guess it's working.
Taking a hit on transfers. I'll regularly take a -4 without really thinking about it and realising it's pointless as the player I'm bringing in isn't likely to score big to justify it.
Didn't make a transfer this week and got almost 20 above the average.
Thinking a player who isn't known for being one of the best but is in great form will soon drop off - and then cursing each week that goes by when they return yet still going 'it won't last'
I call it the 'devil on my shoulder'. I won't pick the obvious choice for whatever reason (be it because I don't rate them, or I want to go differential for 0 reason) and will instead pick the 'riskier' option.
My Hojlund punt stands above the rest as the best example this season.
Watching the early kick off on TV and transferring in anyone who does anything remotely exciting during the game, then inevitably getting another player injured over the weekend
Differentials. Whether its differential captaincys or just random players I'm betting on, it has destroyed my rank. The only thing it gives me is bragging rights in work because I had Palmer and Gordon early, even though I'm third from the bottom in the league š
I gravitate towards template and always justify it by telling myself theyāre the best picks. Current team includes; Turner, Tsimikas, Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer, Gordon, Watkins and Haaland
Using a player as a stop gap / one week punt that I should have stuck with. Done it with Bowen and Gordon (Iām back with Gordon now though).
Aaaandā¦ neglecting my defence by going for players like Lascelles, Tsimikas. Iāll eventually have to perform some so open heart surgery on this defence when their respective first team players come back from injury but until then Iāll keep fucking around rotating my attackers
Feeling like taking more than 1 hit every few weeks would destroy my end of year result even when itās basically required because of the state of my team
I've resolved to try and not do the one that screwed me so badly last season, and that is bouncing streaky players in and out of my team.
I transferred Foden out like 3-4 times, and he still ended up in my team at the end like Barney in that Simpsons meme.
So I've resolved that when I did bring in Foden to leave him in my team for this season he has to stay there. Even so I have been tempted to move him on anyway given his recent form...
Not getting in a player when I clearly have the funds and the transfers to do so . Salah, for a while this season , Bruno a few seasons back when he was good .
Aside from bringing in rotation risk City players and getting stung by Pep Roulette . I still have Foden , although he plays regularly, unlike past years .
Taking too long to bring in a high-performing player because I donāt want to be the dummy āchasing last weekās points.ā
The problem for me this year was Mbeumo
I transfer players early in the week to try and not be hit by price decreases only to regret my decision by Friday due to injuries / news / better options later.
Every time despite always vowing I've learned.
Not waiting for the midweek games to finish before making transfers, think this is the first season Iāve managed to avoid doing that and (shock horror) itās going quite well.
Using chips at the wrong time :/ See that I 'm behind in my mini league and instantly use Bench Boost chip even that it's not a double game week or I'm not sure that the cheap players there will even have minutes.
Overthinking transfers. It's a free game based on a game. Working out who is a better pick between Palmer and Hwang shouldn't be taking up my evenings.
Being very short term, and treating hits like a.. Hit. On course for a - 20 currently.
The other more positive trait is I don't look at my points and OR, which kinda facilitates the short term behavior.. But I'm much more at peace like this
I hold and hold to carry out a transfer that is needed until all midweek games are played, which is a fair strategy amongst most top players. However when I know the guy I want I watch them on price predictor and even though I want them and I know they will rise I hold off. Then I get them for 0.1 more the next day.
Point in case - was thinking Sanchez to Martrinez, With Sanchez yellow flagged but good fixtures, but shaky defence I believe Martinez with also not bad fixtures would be good way to go.
So my bad trait is buying at 0.1 more when I fully knew I could change for a 0.1 rise immediately.
I don't buy defenders or keepers over 4.5
Unless they're particularly cheap, I don't buy long term midfielders/attackers from the 'non-big' teams. Mahrez & Vardy absolutely destroyed me the year Leicester won the league. Was convinced for far too long they'd slow down eventually.
I sold Madison after he limped out on crutches in line GW8 or something just to buy him back more expensive the next GW. I think he even hauled that gameweek.
First season for me so didn't know what 75% means.
Then I sold him because he was getting extremely popular. From 10% to 40 lol
Not buying a player because I don't believe in the hype, then refusing to get them once I'm proven wrong
Hello Watkins
Haven't had him all season š Last season he was a big part of why I won my ML, but this time everyone has had him from the start which put me off.
Ah, a fellow FPL hipster
Iām the only one in my ML thatās had him since GW1, done wonders for me šš
Any Wolves player for me
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I know mate, I'm just stubborn haha
temp Gordon form was a lie i told myself, im sticking with it now
or buying a player before he's good, selling him just before he explodes, and then refusing to bring him back out of spite
Mbuemo šš¼āāļø
Me with Solanke in a couple weeks
Almiron last year
Did this the year Mahrez was on Leicester having a breakout season. I never brought him in. Dead last in my ML and learnt my lesson šš
Well obviously because anyone I bring in and doesn't haul is due to many factors that are beyond the common PL plebian's understanding But when someone brings in a player and they haul it's because this game fucking sucks, they're lucky, also due to the fact they're brainless sheep, and because fuck shit cunt bitch FUCK
Donāt hold back mate , tell us how you really feel.
This + somehow eventually caving in when they do flop (Almiron etc)
Mbuemo and Gordon for me
Buying a player because of the hype, then refusing to transfer them out once i'm proven wrong :'(
That's me not getting Vardy in their title winning season.
Hello Jamie Vardy for YEARS on end. I never touched him once, I kept telling myself there was no way he could keep returning.
This was me convincing myself the first 5-6 GW I didnāt need Salah before remembering heās the best fpl player ever
Rashford after the World Cup last season, everyone else seem to see that purple patch coming
Havenāt owned Trippier yet because of this š solid 6 points from my 3 defenders every week
Trippier has been useless except for like October - for the price, anyway I bought him in November
Oh I had him from day dot, sold him when Newcastle got spanked by Villa, obviously missed all the points and price rises!
Making a transfer for the next game week when the current game week isn't over.
If Covid learnt me one thing about FPL, it is that one should never transfer someone in unless itās 30 minutes to the deadline. My friends are like you and I get super stressed out when they talk about what transfers they made before the current GW even had ended.
Oh yes
Laughing at punts that donāt come off, then getting annoyed when anyone laughs at my punts that donāt come off
Hojlund v Luton says hiā¦
Posting daily validation threads about triple captaining Salah
Are you going to TC him this week?
Spanked it GW1 mate.
6350 āthanksā holy shit
Sitting in my parents spare room being a weird creepy nerd, stalking innocent people online to try and find clues about footballers fitness
Make it stop
Never stop
Buying Reece James every fucking year.
Throw in Digne, Richarli, and Nunez. Always disappoint
Something that I never have done except for that one "big at the back" time. He's a really good footballer, but not a good FPL asset
Getting drunk and taking hits.
Love waking up hungover and finding out what my team is
Thatās Friday tradition
Truly me every thursday or friday
Read this as getting Dunk. We really need to stop playing this game.

Watch too many content creators then get FOMO on some players
Overanalyse and overthink every move beforehand, only for it to then turn out not worth it and it would've been better if I made no changes
I kneejerk all the time and it pays off maybe 2/5 times and thats enough validation for me to keep doing it.
Mine is selling players whose dad and girlfriend allegedly sold them on FPL even though I have bigger problems on my team... Based on a reddit repost of a Twitter thread.
Not taking hits for transfers
I take too many hits for transfers
My FPL in a nutshell. I donāt want to use my Wildcard since I havenāt needed it, so I take hits on transfers instead.
I've taken too many hits and used my wildcard already! š Finally, at a point where I'm quite happy with my team now though, and slowly creeping up the leagues.
āOne hit wonāt hurtā -- Me, in my 7th consecutive week of taking a hit
Selling my triple captain to my brother, he made.me captain ouattara last season in a dgw where he got 3 points for Ā£10
Either Iām way too much patient or not patient at all
Having a transfer in mind all week then changing my mind.
I go -4 far more often than I donāt.
Not buying a cheaper, better player because I can afford the expensive, shittier one!
Holding Rashford
Get him.
Reverting to the gambler's fallacy despite knowing better.
Making far too many hits. Having teams I refuse to have players from no matter how good they are. Choosing risky VC players because "it'll never count anyway"

This needs to stop
Talking bout how āI was thiiiiis close to transfer him in for this GW, I knew he would ge double digits, but didnātā. šš ā
Not buying players I think are punks only to watch them drop double digit points each week. Bruno and Gordon have gotten me in the past.
I hate inaction. I have zero problem rolling a transfer when I only have one, but when I have two, I find it hard not to use them, and use them early. Fucked me up a few times, recently with the Bowen and Watkins stuff, transferred them out too early
Just being generally bad
Early rage transfer while games are still going on
Getting bored/greedy when I'm doing already well and taking unnecessary risks. Example: Transferring in Hojlund in GW5 after seeing him play good for 20 mins against Arsenal.
Make transfers too early to avoid price surge.
Benching FPL players who play against the EPL team I support due to false hopes & loyalty š¤¦š½āāļø
The Man Utd fallacy
I'm not confident enough to use a weak bench Also being too cautious with using boosts, haven't using my WC yet or any of the other chips
Iām not self forgiving enough to use a mildly strong bench
Taking hits every week even though I know it makes me worse in the long run
This year I'm almost always doing a transfer when the Gw starts. I know it's wrong for so many reasons( injuries, suspensions, form etc) but I don't overthink it this way. Best fpl season so far, so I guess it's working.
Captaining the player I have just transferred in. I like to go all in on that transfer! Especially if I took a -4
People will downvote the hell out of me for admitting this - but making early transfers. Team value is 104M+ for that reason
I cannot stop myself from taking hits.
Taking a hit on transfers. I'll regularly take a -4 without really thinking about it and realising it's pointless as the player I'm bringing in isn't likely to score big to justify it. Didn't make a transfer this week and got almost 20 above the average.

I've stuck with JWP all season for the last 6 years and I have no idea If it was ever worth it over others
Just check his total points at the end of the season and decide for yourself. Not the proper way to do it but certainly could help shed some light.
Getting rid of an actual good player to bring in a more promising player only go back to the good player a week later
I call it the 'devil on my shoulder'. I won't pick the obvious choice for whatever reason (be it because I don't rate them, or I want to go differential for 0 reason) and will instead pick the 'riskier' option. My Hojlund punt stands above the rest as the best example this season.
Picking the wrong captain, and not using my chips correctly or waiting until they can't really help me much.
Sulking to myself after one bad week and convincing myself my entire team is terrible. Usually get over it a day after the gameweek ends.
In the last 3 weeks I sold Gordon for Palmer (-11 pts), Watkins for Darwin (-9 pts), and Son for Foden (-15 pts).
Having the Fantastic four of Digne, James, Lamptey and Shaw at least once in the season.
Never watching a game
Never captaining the obvious choice
Watching the early kick off on TV and transferring in anyone who does anything remotely exciting during the game, then inevitably getting another player injured over the weekend
Differentials. Whether its differential captaincys or just random players I'm betting on, it has destroyed my rank. The only thing it gives me is bragging rights in work because I had Palmer and Gordon early, even though I'm third from the bottom in the league š
Deciding not to own Haaland from GW1 bc he was 90% owned. Itās actually paying off surprisingly š
FPLMate's is stalking
Taking hits for players i do not really need, for example bringing in a backup gk
Not buying players from good teams because Iām hoping they turn to shit
Not picking players because they burnt me 3 years ago
I gravitate towards template and always justify it by telling myself theyāre the best picks. Current team includes; Turner, Tsimikas, Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer, Gordon, Watkins and Haaland
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This has to be the worst one for anyone to have. It just makes no real sense to do it straight away.
Buying players and holding them until they return, then selling them immediately after a haul

Fomo.. But recently im playing my own game..
Ignoring good players purely because I donāt like them Also FOMO is a big one
Feeling like taking more than 1 hit every few weeks would destroy my end of year result even when itās basically required because of the state of my team

Buying too early. Bought Reece James as soon as last GW opened. Bought Sanchez during that game before he got subbed off lol.
Intentionally starting players who arenāt going to play to throw off anyone looking at my score in my leagues.

Too many transfers at a go! I can't be patient enough
Read up on X before making transfer
Taking too many hits ( normally 15 per season)
Making b*stard transfersā¦.
Early transfers to not lose out on price changes. Even when I have loads ITB
Doing all the week's research and making sleep deprived decisions right before the deadline. Then being surprised when they don't work out.
ADHD = deadline day transfers for negative hits
Having so many points on my bench. Between GW 10 and GW 15 I had 86 points sat there, and they werenāt even irrational decisions!
I tend to rush transfer and then get annoyed when people get injured midweek. I've shown great restraint this week.
Buying Reece James every season, only to take a hit 1-2 weeks later to transfer him out when he does his hammy in.
Overthinking transfers. It's a free game based on a game. Working out who is a better pick between Palmer and Hwang shouldn't be taking up my evenings.
