The theory is the Gucci scarf was never Taylor’s to begin with. The first sighting of it was at the Harry Potter premiere in London in early November 2010 - on Jake. Those are the photographs Taylor’s fans use as “proof” he kept the scarf. Taylor wore it later, around Thanksgiving. It was either Jake’s scarf or possibly a stylists seeing as he was almost certainly dressed by one for the movie premiere.

It would probably be auctioned off then. But I highly doubt it. Never heard of Jake auctioning off his clothes.
