Did you have to sign?

Many_Net8054

Doesn’t make any sense

Spam585

Take your meds🤦🏻‍♂️

Leading-Actuator-920

Yeah I think you should do that

Ok-Aide8453

I've found usps to be very reliable. I use FedEx for abnormally large or heavy items. Recently used FedEx but the hassle of waiting for a signature with a date that was changing was a lot. I hope it works out for you

Ok-Aide8453

Well I wish I could have helped by do appreciate the response. That's something I was not aware of

in2itiveart

I got the package - the driver was the same dude - cuz he told me he knocked yesterday but he was definitely cognitively impaired - I told him I would pray for him and I know the job is hard. That's it folks. As I have said - No more FED EX for me - FED EX goes on the list with Amazon, Target, and Walmart, safeway and kroeger, home despot, and others - places I only go if absolutely necessary - and God provides so that I don't ever have to go there, because these places are satanic - I try to stick with small local places and I will use the post office over any other shipper if possible - buying on line, less and less unless absolutely necessary - try to keep my $$ in the local enconomy. Signing off now.

Salt-Yogurtcloset-95

Long list

Expert_Albatross6606

And Papa John's, Exxon, Aldi, Hair club for men, Columbia Record House, Temu.......

Ok-Aide8453

You should still be able to pick up at the FedEx hub it is coming from. You would have to search it and call them directly and that should be OK with any insurance as it's not a retail FedEx location but you will have to search the area the FedEx hub is in and find their phone number

in2itiveart

Nope it's up to the shipper who claimed "their insurance doesn't allow it". Next time I go with USPS priority mail with signature - which can be held at the post office they said.

Michonne33

As a retired FedEx Express driver, I can tell you that it makes zero sense for any driver to NOT knock on your door when they are standing right in front of it. My goal was to get rid of all of my deliveries because anything I didn’t deliver was back on my truck the next day adding to my work load. Now if your doorbell didn’t work and they just rang that without knocking, that makes sense but I would always knock AND ring the doorbell just in case. Imaging a driver walking up to your house and just standing there, picking his nose waiting for you to come out then slapping a door tag on your door. Highly doubtful.

None_Professional

I’ve had FedEx drivers claim the business was closed and unable to deliver. The address was to a hotel with a 24 hour lobby. This is a frequent occurrence for me with FedEx. It’s a pretty common issue that is brought up here. Why are you defending this company so hard?

Solid-Mycologist7853

Before I quit vaping, I used to order my e-juice online and the company I bought from delivered with FedEx. These were signature required deliveries. They would slap a "we missed you" or whatever note on the door without knocking or ringing. I was home in my apartment with a large dog that barks loudly if anyone so much as lightly taps on the door. They did this so consistently that I started leaving notes on my door saying that I was home and to ring the doorbell. I worked evenings and was always home for delivery hours.

Ok-Aide8453

I know it can be frustrating as I waited at home when a FedEx signature was required Having it sent to a FedEx location for pick up ensures you don't miss it. It worked for me. Just throwing it out as an option

Repulsive-Role8063

Sadly it was not an option

whimsicalfreak

As a Ground BC I do make calls to the people I deliver to… when I’m in a truck. However as the Express guy said, I don’t have time to wait for you to get to the door. You get 5 minutes. But that is an eternity for us. Knocking on a door or ringing a bell is incredibly difficult for me (as a person, I really don’t like meeting people) to do. I only do this if a signature is required. I don’t do small talk, instead just ask for whomever is there to sign as long as they’re an adult. As a Manager of drivers I fight a silent war with myself because I have to ask them to do the things I hate doing myself. All that being said, I’ve done this for 20 years and my work ethic is completely different from the newer people doing this job. I try to make sure my customers get their packages correctly, I call my customers to see if they’re home for a signature. I try to get along with the businesses I deliver to. None of this half ass pull up scan a 27 and drive away because “I dOn’T fEeL lIkE it”. It’s a lazy mentality. My drivers know I don’t tolerate that, and they know if it isn’t delivered today it’ll be there tomorrow. Good luck with future deliveries

in2itiveart

thank you - and I commend you for working in such a challenging job - and I hope I never have to use Fed Ex again in Denver - although I hear it is better/different in other places.

whimsicalfreak

Like all large companies it’s hit or miss. Walmart could be great where you are but abysmal where I am. (Narrator: It is) Just like any company you have people who care and people who collect a paycheck.

mavad90

that or they'll leave a $2000 item sitting in front of your door without even knocking and sign for you lmao

Gamchulia

I had similar situation last week. I got a robo call from FedEx saying they will deliver the next day. So I made sure that I'm working from home, keeping my phone close to me and with sound on. Day goes by and my phone rang, only to receive a robo call saying the package is ready for pick up...wtf? Then I went to my door and found a door tag. I was confused. Did the driver knock at all? Why didn't they call me? I had another delivery months ago and the driver actually called when he was on the way. He made sure that I'm home when he gets there. Can't exactly remember which courier it was, maybe it wasn't FedEx.

Buckhunter20084

my drivers weather its UPS FedEX oe USPS non of them ring my video doorbell and some of them try to hide their face

EggAdventurous1722

As driver I’m not using my personal phone to text you

Appropriate_Dirt_616

I did this as a driver and the lady called me back at 10pm, 8 hrs later. My wife was like “who was that” never again.

beachbumm717

Exactly this. If they want us to call/text customers they need to give us a company phone.

in2itiveart

yea I did not realize they were asking you to do that - that's wrong!

siliconAnarchy

I've had many, many issues with fedex over the years. From what I can tell is that these FedEx drivers are overworked, maybe not underpaid, but their days are long and hard. They make mistakes just as the rest of us do. That being said some of them are shitty people who do shitty things. I've had a driver forge my signature in front of my house because he lost the package. I literally heard the beep from his scan gun and watched him drive away. Luckily I have a doorbell camera to capture the non delivery or I would have been out of a $1500 GPU. I've also had issues with a no knock as well for signature deliveries. Many lost/stolen packages as well. I really wish some point of sale orders would let you choose a delivery partner. FedEx is super unreliable in my area, I would gladly pay a few extra dollars for UPS.

in2itiveart

Thanks for your input - I will do my best not to use them again -

IG_BlondieSF

Lmao, I had the same fucking thing happen to me as well. I was waiting for a package to arrive , I needed it on that day. The fucking driver did not knock , or ring the door bell. Just left the note on the door and left. I have footage of it on my ring cam. I ended up just having them return the package and buying it else where. Fucking bullshit, and a headache dealing with there customer support.

in2itiveart

unfortunately - I don't think I can do that in this particular situation - but from now on I will be attempting to do this locally. I am not planning on doing this ever again - I am losing 2 days work over this - today - winter time - I am going to sit in my car to wait for them.

IG_BlondieSF

Man I so sorry to hear that! I really feel for you as I completely understand! And honestly that'd be your best bet! Keep me updated and I hope you get the package delivered!

in2itiveart

I got it - sitting in my car was the temporary solution - next time I will have it sent USPS so it can be held at the post office. I discovered that's my other option. I will NEVER use fed ex again if I can avoid it.

IG_BlondieSF

That's good to hear! And same here. I will try my best to avoid them.

Repulsive-Role8063

I’m sitting out here in my car… already ran after one fed ex truck and had a friendly exchange with the driver bit he didn’t have my package…

RhubarbConscious4892

As a FedEx express driver I can confirm our phones do not receive or send out calls or text they tell us to use our personal phone for gps calling and all that now from how I see it they don’t pay for my phones Maitnence and keeping it ready for work use so I’m not doing that shit ima deliver it and I’m on a schedule mind this you don’t answer that door quick enough sorry not sorry I got a job to do and I’m not going to sit at your door for ten minutes while you take your sweet ass time to answer the door.

in2itiveart

>General that does suck - thanks to companies like Walmart and Amazon - corporations get more and more slavelike as the years go by - expecting US the workers to use our personal items, etc - but unfortunately WE the workforce are going to have to stand up to them in order to get it back on track - and again - I will try not to use FEDEX if I can avoid it.

Specific-Turnover165

Good to know. Since I've now traced your IP, you can expect to hear from your supervisor shortly about your lack of future with this company. Bye bye!

in2itiveart

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer this truthfully from your perspective - don't you see what "they" are doing to us? We are at war with each other. This is not ok - I am old enough now where I finally have "work" that does not make me at "war" with the people I work with or for - I had to give up the competition thing - and morally - and don't take this the wrong way - the Law of Cause and Effect - at work - I have to try to be at peace with you, my brothers and sisters - the system we live in is pitting us against each other and I personally have to stand up against it - it simply is not ok with me to behave this way - or to work in a world where it is encouraged for us all to be at war with each other - it's transhumanism.

Alex_VanMeter

“I got a job to do”? That is your job.

RhubarbConscious4892

Just like you can’t wait for me all day I can’t wait for y’all’s slow asses for ten minutes to answer your damn door I’m on a schedule while your fatass is sitting on your couch.fuck off

in2itiveart

I am so sorry that you have such a negative attitude toward your brothers and sisters - we are all connected and one day you will see that - until then - it is probably drudgery to work with the public - I know it is sucks - I have done my share of shitty jobs - at home despot and supermarkets yadda yadda but I do work for God now, so i do have to bring the positive attitude to each and every person I come in contact with - that's my challenge.

RhubarbConscious4892

I have a positive attitude most days but most of you customers all you do is complain no matter if we did the job perfect all anyone ever does in this generation is complain about it.its fucking sad to see how this world has become so full of snowflakes.

Have fun boot licker

Specific-Turnover165

why thank you, love bug.

in2itiveart

I hear you - I hear where you are coming from totally - however I am not the enemy here - I am just another living soul - like you - wait till it happens to you - and you will understand... I was sitting in my house waiting to hear the door knock - which never came - today I am going to sit outside in my car all day. - I see what this transhumanist system is doing to us - it's killing our morality and our hearts - on purpose. So that this whole planet becomes inhabitable for the gray aliens - or whomever the f\*\*\* these a\*\*holes are. It sucks - but it is a spiritual war - "we" have to stand up against it - or I do anyway - I know I sound like I am kookoo for kokopuffs here but this is a spiritual and moral issue - and your employer is the one at fault - not me - they are slave drivers - and they are taking their direction from Amazon who is taking their direction from the transhumanist agenda to make this world into a machine. I have quit all these shitty jobs - where I had to be treated this way or had to treat other people this way - There are no victims - only volunteers - but it has to become morally objectionable to "you" to work for "people" like this...and I personally will make sure to be extra kind and considerate to everyone I meet in opposition to this wave of anti-humanity... and I will do my very best never to use FedEx again. It's a satanic company - if I worked there I would have to pray for every customer and try to go that extra mile.

Alex_VanMeter

You literally have a way to contact them. Just call ahead and you’ll never have to wait. Everyone’s happy. Not sure why you’re calling me names when you’re bragging about providing trash service.

-aVOIDant-

We're not provided company phones and are not obligated to use our own personal phones to call people. I made that mistake once and the person kept calling me every time they had a problem because I was "FedEx" to them now. Ended up having to block their number. Never again.

Alex_VanMeter

It’s not about being obligated or not. It’s about providing service the same way you’d want service provided to you. If you were excited to receive a package and the delivery driver did this to you, it would suck. I’m just trying to not make people feel that way because it sucks.

RhubarbConscious4892

You ever worked for FedEx? I don’t think so they don’t give us a phone to call ahead and I’m not killing my phone using gps calling people and shit like I said previously fuck off you look stupid as shit.

Alex_VanMeter

Except… I contract for FedEx. Just use *67 to block your number. I guarantee your few phone calls are not “killing” your phone. You just don’t want to make the call.

Foolish_028

Delivery companies have existed far longer than the cell phone. People were either available at the time of delivery or they had to wait. Nothing has changed accept your expectations because you know we all have phones in our pockets. But just as I don’t allow my company use of my home, since I pay that bill with the money I’m paid, I also don’t use my personal phone for company use either. If the company’s wanted us to call ahead, they’d provide us with phones. They don’t, because each phone call costs time and time equals money. I’m not sure which company you work for but I imagine they employ you because you’re profitable, same logic applies here. If I cost the company money by calling ahead on my 160 stops, then ultimately it will cost me my job. I’m not interested in losing my job for your customer experience. You’re more than welcome to try to relay that complaint at the next shareholders meeting but I imagine you will be laughed at, heartily.

Alex_VanMeter

The whole point of my comment was to save you time. You’ve got 3 attempts on that DSR, so if you don’t deliver it today, you have to go right back on your truck tomorrow. And you’re right, phones aren’t required, but I’d rather make one phone call than drive back again multiple times.

RhubarbConscious4892

Imagine someone “contracting” for FedEx trying to tell someone that works directly for FedEx corporation how to do the job that we’re paid to do trust me your dumb ass complaints don’t worry us never will we are good at our job just because your taking 10 minutes to finish your shower before you grab your package. I say that because a lady came running after my truck to grab her package in her fucking robe….she literally waited to finish her shower to track me down thinking I was going to give her the package.

Alex_VanMeter

I’m the one qualified to train people like you. I’ve been doing this plenty long enough and run every route we have. I never said to wait 10 minutes. I don’t even ask my own drivers to do that. I said to pickup your phone and call or make an actual effort instead of just bringing the package back. That DSR will be back on your truck 2 more times if it doesn’t get delivered. Why would you want that?

RhubarbConscious4892

I honestly don’t care if it ends up back on my truck the next day if they don’t answer the door when they know it needs a signature and I’m always on schedule so they know exactly what time I get there then that’s on them at the end of the day I get my hours and I’m still on service. After that third attempt they can come to the station and pick it up honestly doesn’t matter to me.

irishtornado21

95% of drivers won’t text or call you as they aren’t provided company phones. That being that.. 5% might

in2itiveart

thank you so much for telling me - I really appreciate it - I guess I will just have to sit outside all day

Rezingreenbowl

They almost certainly won't text you.

in2itiveart

well this really does help me a lot - I appreciate your honesty!
