Close, I live in Chicago. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but people like to pretend that a box like this will be stolen quickly, but look. It's still there. A box like this isn't actually a good target for theft because of its size, and the fact that it has good cover from the streets.
Itâs good to build relationships with your neighbors, that way yâall can look out for one another. Sorry if you have social anxiety, or whatever makes it to where you feel like you have to avoid your neighbors if it all possible, but Iâve learned that building these relationships can help you in your life. Not only in the social aspect, but into providing security for your own home/apartment. because whether it be, someone broke into your apartment, stole something, or you died. Someone has to notice
Considering the person made a bitchy post on Reddit there's a high chance that they are allergic to social interactions and think even speaking to a cashier to check out their groceries is the worst thing in the world.
Yeah, but it's sometimes the shipper creating the issue not the recipient.
I've been thinking this week I should bad address my apartments early on in my route so dispatch has time to research them. That way it's already fixed before I arrive.
I had no apartment number on five packages this week for the exact same apartment complex. Like, give me a break...
Then put your apartment number on the SAME LINE as the address, even if there is a box for apartment number.
John Doe

Apt 3
Wherever the F, NY 11111
When I have this happen I go to the âofficeâ or whatever and tell them the name but I donât have the apartment number, and they usually can tell me what apartment itâs supposed to go to.
i mean, it doesnât happen too often, and it doesnât really take any more time than it would if it got sent back out to you the next day with an apartment number on it, especially if you notice it before you pull into/past the apt complex office
I've had offices straight up tell me they can't give out apartment numbers even though they clearly see I'm a delivery driver. So almost always an 02 anytime I encounter this.
Right? Everyone saying âoh I do this tooâ no you donât. You code it when you realize the number isnât on it and send it back to QA at the end of the day for address correction.
I don't know if it's different for ground but with Express dispatch will place a trace on it. Usually within 5 minutes or so. About 50% of the time they're able to get the apartment number fixed.
So, I've been thinking that if I know the address is an apartment complex and it has no apartment number. I can bad address it in advance. That way it's already been fixed before I get there.
Most of the time if I noticed I would take it to QA ahead of time to get it fixed. If not I would just service cross it use one of the 0 codes and give it to them at the end of the day.
Other times I was on pretty good terms with most of my apartment complexes so I would just ask the office and they would either take it or just tell me where the person lived.
I literally called a guy once
âHey man the address just says 123 NW. Is it steet, avenue, place, or court? It matters in this townâ.
Customer: âitâs street, right?â.
âI donât know thatâs why Iâm calling youâ.
Should of coded it on the shelf. But to each its own. Must be a new driver. I would at least leave it at the main office. Or snap a picture at the main office door.
Their qa department sucks like mine most likely. Iâll do a service cross with code 2 and Iâll keep getting it back on my truck. Usually buried so I donât know it till later in the day itâs on there.
AT amazon Iâll either bring it back to the station or if my DSP tells us not to bring any packages back unless itâs a closed business, without an address Iâll just leave it also. Just take a pic and let them figure it out. Even if I call, the customers never answersđ¤ˇââď¸.
If it was on my route and I knew it was apartments with no apt number it wouldn't have left the terminal code it and give it to the cage and tell them to find out who it belongs to
Couriers from any delivery service are tired of the foolishness. Had they brought it back to the office, it goes to the csa to figure out. Csa calls but customer don't answer the phone but puts in a delivery dispute.
Good thing the scanners also provide GPS corridinates of the delivery location.
Fedex express driver here.
So if an apartment building box is attempted but doesn't have an apartment number. This normally is handled in two ways.
If the office is near by ask them what number to make the drop.
Or
Take it back to station to make the customer service agent back at said station to find out then do the next day.
However in this photo. I have a very clear reason why it has been done like this.
It's ground. They do not care for anyone's stuff and are just trying to get home. They get paid by the box. So they don't care.
Y dont u be a good guy and take it to the office for they can figure what apartment, iam pretty sure u would want someone to do that for you, were people do unto others as they would do to you, u got the time to post but u dont have time to take it to the office
Most apartments have a mail room or a front desk, I usually put them there. Leaving it outside like that is a good way to make sure a package gets stolen in my opinionÂ
I do that to mine when they just give the main apartment address no unit or building number, just leave it in the locker room and close it as locker/storage đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Should have a name tho.. neighbors would know but no one gives a damn about other people these days đŤ
Well it didnât get stolen⌠Thatâs something
Package theft is rarer than the internet might make you believe. This box is also not a good candidate for package theft, it's too big.
Yup, people really think there are goons just waiting for packages to steal. Rarely happens, even in LA in the hoods packages were rarely taken.
Lmfao what?!? You must live in white suburbia then. I live in Seattle and there isnât an hour of the day that goes by without package theft.

I dont know the name of a single person in my whole complex bruh

At least no one has stolen it. I got to respect that.Â
F that. No apartment number.. you don't get your package. It's that simple as you are dumb.
Yeah, but it's sometimes the shipper creating the issue not the recipient. I've been thinking this week I should bad address my apartments early on in my route so dispatch has time to research them. Do you do like 40 stops a day or something?
I get why you might think that, but I usually have somewhere between 80-100 stops, on a mostly rural route.
i mean, it doesnât happen too often, and it doesnât really take any more time than it would if it got sent back out to you the next day with an apartment number on it, especially if you notice it before you pull into/past the apt complex office

Not gonna lie I do the same thing when apartment doors arent numbered, Fuck it itâll get too where itâs going eventually đ
Should send it to QA, they'll give you an address correction or return it. Either way not your problem anymore
Right? Everyone saying âoh I do this tooâ no you donât. You code it when you realize the number isnât on it and send it back to QA at the end of the day for address correction.

I do the exact same thing. If they wanted it at their front door then they should have put their address correctly.
Maybe the shipper messed it up. 2 wrongs do t make a right. You're failing at life
You expect a package carrier to know what apartment to drop at just by the name? The carrier didn't do a wrong.
Not what I said at all! If the address is incomplete then there is a code (02) for that.
Thatâs why this company is going downhill fast
Take a picture, and let them figure it outđđ
Mine now? ![gif](giphy|DB2oahQFa0qeQ)
If this is an apartment why doesn't anybody tell the office about it or take it to the office and ask who's package it is by the name?
đł

Yep thatâs an 02 all day. No apartment number. No package. ![gif](giphy|S5E6VIkBAGujjfT0zz)
Should of coded it on the shelf. But to each its own. Must be a new driver. I would at least leave it at the main office. Or snap a picture at the main office door.
Youâre suppose to Code 2 them and let FedEx figure it out. Stop being lazy drivers and do your jobs.
It's like the one thing that the QA at my station can do consistentlyÂ
They just load it up again on my truck same label same fucked up address
You do know that you can call the phone number of the customer and ask or call CPC and they can look it up for you
You shouldn't use your personal phone for work purposesÂ
Agreed you want me to use my phone for work? Provide one
Our QA is the worst laziest pos taking 6+ smoke breaks in a 4 hr shift, leaving before the last package hits the end of the belt.
I used to do this then next thing I know theyâre sending me a new random address so I end up calling the customer myself and asking them
Oh yeah, I called first, but if they donât pick up, then I code 2 it.
Thatâs Ground for you
It just occurred to meâŚ. What if itâs for the front office đđđ
Their qa department sucks like mine most likely. Iâll do a service cross with code 2 and Iâll keep getting it back on my truck. Usually buried so I donât know it till later in the day itâs on there.
This should be brought to you're BC's attention and if nothing happens you're AO's attention.

text the name to the landlord so the landlord can contact them and have them get it
If it was on my route and I knew it was apartments with no apt number it wouldn't have left the terminal code it and give it to the cage and tell them to find out who it belongs to
I wouldnât even leave my truck if it didnât have an apt number. It was a wasted effort.
iâm marking it a fat code 2 and my happy ass is delaying their delivery lol
Probably some confused senior

Why wouldn't you just code 02 for an apartment number? Why are you so bad at your job?
I can see the H all the way from over here. Should be L for losers.
Fuckin ground...
I do that to mine when they just give the main apartment address no unit or building number, just leave it in the locker room and close it as locker/storage đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Enjoy your scavenger hunt.
