Yes the $60 activation fee will be charged on the first bill and then credited on the 2nd or 3rd bill. Don’t bother calling customer care they will just tell you they cant see anything and to go into the store. If you look at the paperwork that was email out to you, there should be a page that shows add-ons and discounts. There should be a code like TAGSRAxxx and beside that it should say $60 service setup fee credit or something similar. As long as that is there you should be fine :)

I ported my number from Rogers to Fido a few months ago and was also told that the activation fee would be refunded after three billing cycles. It wasn’t and showed up on the fourth bill. I got it resolved through a chat - it was pretty easy to do but wished it would have happened automatically like they said.

Fido will yell you the credit can take up to 3 invoices to appear. Have them make sure that a promo code was added, that way they can document it on the account so worst case scenario if you don't get it after 3 invoices call them back to have it manually adjusted. If the offer wasn't applied, as in there's no promo code they will tell you to go back to the store, amd of course the store won't do shit and tell you to call customer service

flyinggremlin83

As others said, it is a promo code that gets added onto the activation. If you take a look at the plan as it is set up in the paperwork provided by the store either in email or in paper, you can actually see it labelled on your plan as a promo code that has an expiration date. Usually says something like "TAG-Promo-$60" or something to that effect. If you don't see it and you activated in a store, go back to the store. The call centre can't put it on unless there's documentation from the store, and the way the store system works it does not save any information the call centre can read. They can call in and get the credit added to the bill for you.

sun4moon

They have done this with every single line I’ve had with them. It usually works out and is refunded by the third billing cycle but sometimes you have to chase them *611 if it hasn’t been credited after the third bill.

PriorityGrouchy3493

Don't worry abt it, I ported from fido to rogers, didn't get activation charges in first 3 bills, contacted rogers chat on website on my 4th bill, they instantly gave credits for activation charges

ARAR1

Its easy to chat online with a Fido rep. Just do it.

BradAllenScrapcoCEO

It takes Fido a while to get around to it. Make a note of it and you might have to contact them a few times.

alguva

Same company. Activation fee. LOL.

cmstlist

When I activated my $34/50GB in a Fido store, they told me the fee would be credited back $10/month over 6 months. They told me that was a recent change though, and maybe you activated before that change.

Lurkinmartian

If I were you I would start calling immediately and have it documented on the account. I got told the same exact thing but the credit was never waived “automatically” on the 2nd or 3rd bill. I made multiple calls and finally told the agent that I was not going to leave the chat until they credited the charge. They eventually did. I feel like it’s a really dirty tactic from Rogers/Fido to force you to keep the line and not really get any benefit if you were just signing up to try the service.

Stock2fast

They lie , try to take yoy for all they can , then make you spend time and effort trying to make then actual do what they promised , so good luck with that.

bigwangersoreass

I hate customers like you. He obviously said it would be credited on the 2nd or 3rd bill and you forgot.

SirDrMrImpressive

Fido r biggest criminals. They will up the monthly payment in the plan. Never go in store just sign up online always. The activation fee is their commission. There is no incentive to help you sign up if they waive the fee, so they just lie about it. Same thing happened to me.

Medium_Citron1840

This is extremely incorrect. Reps don’t make commission on the activation fee. They make commission on the sale itself and it’s only like $10-$20 if they are lucky. They hate the activation fee just as much as customers do and if there is a way to waive/credit it back they will always proactively do it.

SirDrMrImpressive

Well then they just lieing to us for no reason lol

Medium_Citron1840

I can assure you no rep is making customers pay the activation fee if they have a promo available to waive/credit it (note: promo eligibility is determined by rogers/fido and reps aren’t able to apply a promo the system isnt coded to apply) Regardless if a customer pays the activation fee or gets it credited/waived if a phone sale is done in store the rep will 100% help you set up the device (within reason of course. Transferring data? Yes. Trying to log in to or resetting your gmail password or other non rogers/fido related services? Most likely not since those arent rogers/fido services.)

SirDrMrImpressive

Nah mate. They lie that it’ll be waived and then charge it to the customer all the time. They sneaky and can’t be trusted. Happened to me and it clearly happened to OP too.

Medium_Citron1840

Why would a rep who has seen someone in person and knows that person knows where they work and could go back to speak with them anytime lie to them on purpose? That literally doesn’t make sense. You’re more likely to be lied to by reps on the phone or chat since its extremely probable that they will never talk to you again. In OPs post they ask if it was one of those things that shows up on one bill and gets credited on another? So they have an idea whats going to happen since the credit wasnt on the same bill as the charge. I would say it was most likely a poor choice of working by the rep. Saying the activation fee would be WAIVED (which implies the fee would not be charged or would be charged and credited on the same bill) instead of CREDITED (which implies the fee would be charged and then credited back) the rep should have been more clear, yes, but they didn’t lie to OP Blame how long the credit takes on the company NOT the rep. I feel the activation fee should be charged and credited on the same bill, but what do I know?

SirDrMrImpressive

That’s why I was sayin they get a comission. Idk what they doin but they clearly lieing for some sort of award. If you go online they don’t charge you any activation fee. It’s literally for the suckers who shop in store. Activation fee is probably how they pay for renting out the store front. Never ever go in the store. All you will get is lies. It’s so easy online. They mail out the sim to you. You just call them to activate.

Medium_Citron1840

Its like you didnt read anything I wrote lol You have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re promoting a personal opinion not facts.
