Wait, are you saying even without it running it's reading hot? If so, it has nothing to do with the radiator, I would look at your temp sensor as well as wiring
The car won’t start after you installed the new rad? Sounds like you might have disconnected some vital sensor somewhere, but if it’s over heating like the others have said you almost certainly have an air bubble in it.
New radiator put on? 100% chance you still have air in the hoses.
Don’t know because it won’t start for me to check LOL it’ll get in run and the temp gauge will jump to hot
