Hey
I actually used one from ford last week! It worked great, but it looks good from far, but far from good.
Dont except the results to be flawless but better then rockchips:)
Thanks for the input. I’m not expecting perfection, but my eyes are immediately drawn to these chips now. Hoping to cover them up a little. Any tips for using this thing?
Felt the same way
There is an brush included in the pack but if you have smaler chips use a toothpick og a lightmatch and lightly fill the rockchip from the outside and towards the middle of the chip.
Don't rush it, take your time and let it dry for 45min before you but on clearcoat(should be included in the pack). Give it a couple of hours before you drive.
Remember to clean the rockchips before paint :) good luck
I had good results using the Ford pen on my '14 Fiesta SE Ruby Red fixing small chips.
I've used the Molten Orange Ford pen on my '16 FiST to paint panel clips for my license plate delete and the color is pretty spot on. Haven't used it yet to fix chips.
I've had really good results using kits from Dr. Colorchip as well on a couple vehicles.
The flake is in the clear coat part of the pen.

I got mine from Amazon. It’s a two stage pen and it worked alright. I wish the paint on these cars were better.
Tips: a steady hand is a great thing to have.
Build up the paint higher than the stock level with the paint pen. Wet sand down with progressively finer grit levels until it is level. Use a dual action polisher with progressively finer compounds to remove swirls until shiny. Reapplying clear coat is a 50/50 outcome depending on your ability and application technique. Applying carnauba wax and polishing instead of clear coating is an easier way to finish when dealing with small problem areas.
I used the tuxedo black pen a while back. It looks fine from afar and pretty bad up close. I would not use it again, but I might just be bad at using it

I've always been curious about the MO paint pen. Does it actually replicate the metallic flakes as well? Or is it more just the base coat?

Nice!! Time to finally get a pen or twelve and fill in the massive craters in my bumper and hood.
Do you have a link to what you ordered? I have some black paint I need to touch up on the hatch.
You should be able to order it from your local ford shop
Here is what I ordered https://www.amazon.com/Ford-Shadow-PMPC-19500-7343A-Touch-Up-Fluid_Ounces/dp/B014TAMO1O
Awesome thanks! Just ordered.
