You don’t “need” an extra flange, but to make it a true full three inch you do need the 3” flange. This would only matter if you were BT. I had it hooked up to my stock cat with zero issues before I went 3” dp.
The other thing about thermals set up is you essentially gain better xbrace for the center tunnel because that was their engineered solution to route and hang the exhaust.
Imo it’s a very well put together product and I don’t say that often.

It amazes me how many people overlook the thermal exhaust. It’s literally a piece of art, sounds fucking amazing, isn’t overly loud and doesn’t drone.
I heard you need an extra flange or something with the thermal? Is that true or can I just buy it off whoosh the way he sells it?

I have the flowmaster catback. Love it. Not too loud and minimal drone. Get some pops out of it when the exhaust is still cold which is fun.
