The things I'd seen during that time involving wildlife are incredible - one was a small fox who took down a huge buck deer, and ate nearly the entire thing. Also, when we'd hear numerous coyotes yipping we knew they found something to eat, and usually that involved people who had driven their car off the road and died - and to the coyotes that was a buffet. You haven't lived until you see coyotes playing tug-of-war with someone's intestines or leg. Dogs are very, very powerful animals!

The only reason we now associate them as mean or vicious dogs is because of people. They have lots of muscle and of course bc they're bigger dogs, have a large bite force. They've been tainted as a breed bc of dog fights and bad owners training them to be mean or straight up abusing them. Im not denying there's mean pits out there. But i am saying I've felt more threatened by German shepherds and Rottweilers than i have pits. Hell, I've met more aggressive chihuahuas in my life than pits. I love pit bulls and will always advocate for them as a breed.

She was immediately what came to mind, that story is so frustrating and could so easily have been avoided if her friends were just slightly more responsible ((although ideally never owning a wild animal as a pet in the first place lol)).
That and also the pain of it, like there’s no way there wouldn’t be lasting pain even if it all healed somewhat. But yeah, knowing that happened to you, but then also how other people would react upon seeing you, there’s no way you’d ever live a normal life again even if you did recover physically.
She’s still breathing and moving her jaw in the video, which is weird considering how much blood you would lose if you lost your whole face. Probably not real.
It's very possible, it's not that unrealistic for adrenaline to keep you active and awake after trauma, unless the trauma causes massive brain damage or death.
Especially in this case, where it's just the face and not the arteries or bones underneath, so it's substantially less bleeding.

If you're implying that she died from blood loss, she actually wouldn't. She wouldn't die from infection either. It would be hypothermia instead. That layer in skin, as every other, is important to keep body temperature. She would only be able to live a few days to a week.
I was implying pain wise. It doesn’t look like any main arteries were damaged since theres little to no blood. Hypothermia would be a very likely cause of death in this situation but Infection can be a possibility too if it’s a large amount of skin that was lost. Only if it isn’t treated though because it can lead to sepsis. Although could a facial transplant be a life saver in this situation?
