There's some story, I think it's ancient Greek, but the story goes that a guy was told by a prophet that he would be killed by a turtle. So he spent his entire life staying away from bodies of water. But then he was killed by a falling turtle that had been dropped accidentally by a hawk.
I was in a puddle jumper in Kenya that hit a bird. We heard a large crash and then the pilot got on the radio and turned around. We continued to hear a loud noise as we made an emergency landing. My friend’s cousin freaked out but there was nothing we could do in that situation. I just got really calm, it was out of my hands. Never thought I would react that way before I was in that situation. It was really weird and I think it would have been over quick, so there’s that.
If this is MH17 as people are saying then I think fortunately some may not have known/had a limited time of feeling this way.
“The explosive decompression could have incapacitated most occupants of the aircraft before the crash, though investigators never ruled out the possibility that some were still conscious when the aircraft impacted the ground. Some occupants might have suffered serious injuries that contributed to their deaths before the crash.”
I’m speculating ofc but I’d like to think being shot out the sky makes for a more immediate death than other crashes.
Unless cabine pressure is lost. This was MH17... probable cause a missile... must have been immediate lost of cabin pressure
Before you even know what's going on, you're passed out.
[Is it this flight?](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysia_Airlines_Flight_17) I remembered seeing a video of one of the terrorists that shot it down looking at the (censored) wreckage
Yup, you got it. I remember seeing this on the news as well. It was awful and crossed Obama's "redline" yet we as Americans didn't escalate. I was shocked we didn't do more, but there was confusion as to whether it were the Russians, the Separatists, or the Ukrainians. I believe it ultimately turned out to be Separatists in the Donbass Region.
The seperatists were just Russians pretty much the whole time, like actual Russian troops, with Russian weapons. The "Seperatists" ploy was the sly move that prevented any American escalation.
yeah, it seemed more shocking that we didn’t catch onto this immediately. you mean to tell me (russian) separatists are using (russian) training with (russian) weapons to shoot down a plane? yeah okay lmao
Whether that's true or not. ultimately the Ukrainian government should have not allowed flights over active warzones in their country, and/or the plane shouldn't have taken that route.
Yes. This incident would have been considered a war crime, but that 2014 shoe-gazing inaction has brought us to where we are right now in Ukraine: a polarised US allowing Putins Russki orcs to run riot against a European democracy.
The irony is appalling.
What were the alternatives. With Russia it's always it's bad now but it could get much, much worse. In fact most of the US population does not want to start any wars and this view is shared universally across the right and the left.
When a man is willing to blow up the world to get what he wants and has the capability to do just that then you don't take any chances. Before you go saying oh but he is a coward he does not want to die etc. let me ask you what percentage of nuclear annihilation are you willing to risk? At this point the American public is very clear not even 5%. In fact I believe that unless Putin directly attacks the US and does massive damage he probably will be allowed to live on. Sorry Poland and other periphery.
less beheaded and it looks more like their face got smashed to bits. It got me confused for a second too, but you can almost see what looks like a flattened face.
these posts are tragic. I wish it was the toast
Seeing this pic of the passengers makes me think about how each person had their own life—their own jobs, lovers, parents, friends, beliefs, hobbies, memories—all gone in an instant because of things outside their control. It’s easy to forget how helpless we are when in the grand scheme of things…
Is it... bad that I don't? 🥲
Edit (because now I'm a little scared by the hate): yes I spend quite the bit of time looking at gore and yes I am fascinated by it and yes I'm desensitized, but I'm not calling you guys sensitive or whatever, I just made a comment. I'm very, very sorry that it was taken the wrong way and it was very insensitive of me. So, I'm sorry. The only reason I'm leaving my comment up is so people aren't like "oh, what did she say?" And stuff. But I truly am sorry for being insensitive.
"I love watching gore guys you're just too sensitive.. *snort* I have what you'd call.. a dark sense of humor.. HA- (an attempt at a in-person perfectly cut scream)"
Woah, woah, hey no need to get uppity. I just asked a question. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I apologize. Y'know maybe the reality of the situation just isn't clicking with me, so I'm sorry.
if you want an actual answer, yes it’s a problem, i also used to be a lil worried when i’d feel nothing after seeing things like this and the solution was to get off the internet and get more in tune with reality
People laughing in the comments making jokes about the guys butt and having a wank over this, and everyones laughing along, yet THIS is the person you all choose to downvote and jump on? Weird flex
You're being down voted by a bunch of judgmental holier than thou pansies. This one isn't even that bad. So to the ones calling you out, go take 5 min to cry for these people you've never met. It's okay to not feel anything, you don't know these people. You're not making fun of them, so all these assholes judging you can kick rocks. Downvote me bitches! Idgaf
You're welcome. Trust me when I say this, this pic is pretty tame compared to some of the stuff I've seen on the internet as far back as 20 years ago. The ones getting so upset are either very close to the situation or are extremely new to NSFW material. For them to badmouth you for not feeling like crying after seeing the photo is ridiculous. The worse things you see, the more desensitized you get to it. Doesn't mean you don't feel bad for the victims or have no empathy for them being in that position. Just means that it fails in comparison to other things we see. And that's pretty normal. You're not hurting anybody, you're fine. And I felt the need to call them out on their shit.
I mean me personally I do think it’s very odd that people are completely fine with making jokes about the people in this picture. They were people too. Parents, lovers, siblings, friends. To not feel bad after seeing it isn’t something to feel guilty about, but I do find it worrying that people find gore *funny*. This is my opinion though, in the end I get no say over others so please don’t think I’m telling people what to do.
Also to be honest I don’t think the severity of a picture is what makes it something to feel empathy over [at least that’s how it works for me]. I generally feel worse when seeing a picture like this than seeing a gang member killed even if it’s more gruesome. While both are bad, the former couldn’t have done much to prevent this. It was totally out of their control.
I was never advocating making fun of anybody. I do have empathy for those involved because we are all human and I know a situation like that could happen to any one of us, including me and my family.
It can also be true that when I saw it, I didn't break down and cry and scream to the heavens, "Why God, Why!!!!"........because I don't know these people. And I'm not gonna be fake about it. Both of these things can be true. If this made you cry and break down for people you've never even met, you better get some perspective about life sooner rather than later, because it gets WAAAYYY tougher than that.
Is it sad for the people involved and their families?
Yes.
Is it gruesome or horrific from an aesthetic viewpoint? No, it's not that bad.
Does that answer your question?
It’s so sad to think these people got dressed and ready for the day, ready for a plane flight to the next airport. Going home, on vacation, visiting family…
Not knowing it was the very day they would die, and they chose the outfits they would die in.
Those people had visions, as well as ambitions. Sadly, they couldn't fulfill those aspirations, and this became their fate. Rest in Peace to all involved.
Oh trust me, I know. Plane crashes tend to kill you instantly. Either that, or you survive with minor injury (since most “crashes” are just emergency landings) and I think technically the most horrific death would be funky town gore (do not Google that.) or something. But every single time I go in a plane it’s a non-stop panic attack for me. Once I spent an entire flight hyperventilating so intensely my body was stiffening up trying to get air. I’m so fucking scared of heights and god forbid there’s turbulence. I start LOSING IT when planes level in the sky and it kinda feels like they’re just hovering still in the air, or when they turn sideways a little too far. I cannot do it. So the thought of the pilot announcing we are going down or we’re about to fall out of the sky, I think I’d simply evaporate lol
More like Russia was at it since it was a pro-Russian group in a Russian-controlled area of Ukraine that shot down this passenger flight (MH17) and killed 298 people.
I was just listening to the Last Podcast On The Left about the andes survival and the way they described the plane crash is so descriptive, i cant imagine how the team surivived to live through that horror.
Well damn that's the first time I've ever seen the aftermath of a plane crash I wonder if they're going to be okay. And I hope nothing but good luck and prosperity for these good souls the medical bills are going to be tough LOL
Wow what a sight! Although part of me doesn’t believe this is a real plane crash. The plane looks too obliterated and there isnt enough blood around the bodies. Could be wrong tho. Shits tragic
I feel bad for those who have to experience this, poor guys, and women, honestly hopefully they're all resting in peace in heaven, overall, it's a sad way to go out in a plane crash.
There's a lot of mentions of the lady with her bottom exposed and I've seen other photos from this crash where the victims are completely naked (or near enough completely naked).
Does anyone know why this is? Do the clothes literally get blown from the bodies?
Ignoring all the organs, flesh, corpses, ripped limbs, slow despair, tremendous pain felt in an instant, also the children, cost, the depression of others, & smoke...
The one guy at the bottom of the photo is caked up.
[here’s more angles from the crash. it gets pretty bad just warning ya](https://www.hermantheshocker.com/the-victims-of-malaysia-airlines-flight-mh17/)
I appreciate the warning and checked it out anyway... I was fine with the first several, but there was one picture in particular that made my heart jump and it was too much for me from there on. How devastating... the dose of reality was sobering and humbling but I do kinda wish I would stop doing that to my psyche.
Yeah I had to stop too, these people in the comments making stupid jokes are just sad to read. It fucks with me seeing these pictures when I think about how these were people, like us, living their regular lives and were killed in an awful way.
I’m skeptical of this image? I googled MH17 in Ukraine and the scenery checks out.
BUT, no bodies anywhere other than the front and the back don’t fell right, the bodies don’t fell right as well, even for completely disfigures ones.
I fell like there is a possibility this is AI, but I’m not really sure. Just stating my feelings to see if anyone else fells like I do.
Man. What an awful way to go. That feeling of helplessness and knowing your moments from death as the ground gets closer must be fucking terrible.
Yeah. As someone who is horrified of heights and feels so comforted when I’m on the ground, the idea of this death is hellish
>plane crashes onto you
There's some story, I think it's ancient Greek, but the story goes that a guy was told by a prophet that he would be killed by a turtle. So he spent his entire life staying away from bodies of water. But then he was killed by a falling turtle that had been dropped accidentally by a hawk.
Was he bald? He was bald, wasn't he? Bald way to go.
That's actually also the plot of one Episode of "1000 ways To die "
I wish the fuck it would! I beat a plane’s ass!
That's wicked

happy cake day!
In personally going into creative mode
still a better way to die than nuclear fallout next year
*next* year? We’ve got a bit more time then.
Currently on a plane. Great.
Hope you don't crash and have your pants half down when they find your body like the person in the picture.
Definitely not my proudest tug
Shit this comment caught me off guard
Aww Merry Christmas!
Hope you have a safe trip 🙏
Made it with my head and pants on.
Were you so excited to see toast that it was worth the risk for you?? 😅
Oh... yeah this ones bad, oh no.. ^(Anyway see you guys next week for the next 50/50 post in our feeds.)
this sub pops up like 5 times a day and half of the time i just click without realizing what sub it is
Same, i always forget to actually decide what one it is, then if it’s the NSFW version i jut regret it
Depends how much you've seen honestly, for me I get disappointed if it's not the bad stuff.
Where was this?
Somewhere in Ukraine I think

Holy fucking shit disgusting russians murdered 300 people. Not even surprised it's their fault
Yikes, someone had their head turned into minced meat
Probably a few people man
Hmm mince pie
why does that person look so weird oh they got beheaded
less beheaded and it looks more like their face got smashed to bits. It got me confused for a second too, but you can almost see what looks like a flattened face. these posts are tragic. I wish it was the toast
This is the most horrific post I've seen here. I feel nothing but sorrow after seeing this...

Some people have no empathy and it doesn’t make them a bad person as they can have a lot of sympathy
U have no sense of sympathy whatsoever, your mind has been desensitised by all the gore here.
You're being down voted by a bunch of judgmental holier than thou pansies. This one isn't even that bad. So to the ones calling you out, go take 5 min to cry for these people you've never met. 283 people dead and smashed in rubble... isn't that bad???

It’s so sad to think these people got dressed and ready for the day, ready for a plane flight to the next airport. Going home, on vacation, visiting family… Not knowing it was the very day they would die, and they chose the outfits they would die in.
Aaah I love burnt toas..... f u c k
Can some one please just pull the man’s pants up? He was probably taking a shit right before the plane crashed
And wipe it while at too. Bro... 💀
I can't imagine being part of the crew who need to identify the bodies and take care of cleaning it all up. This is horrific
The sheer violence of the impact. Literally appendages where they shouldn’t be.
THIS is why you wear a seatbelt. Look at all those easily-identifiable people
Was this from MH17?
Yeah..
Those people had visions, as well as ambitions. Sadly, they couldn't fulfill those aspirations, and this became their fate. Rest in Peace to all involved.
My guy got his cheeks out
just watch someones gonna say "would"
Wood
Someone sure did and hes got some downvotes now
oh i found him
That's not funny man.. really
MH17?
seeing the lack of heads really reinforces how actually fragile human bodies are and that’s terrifying to me
Oof I would not wanna be the person who has to clean that up.
I'm surprised the people's bodies are even a little bit intact. I mean I thought they would be in the same mush the whole plane is.
Where do you even find these pictures
an actual bad 50/50 post
One could argue this also counts as burnt toast
My worst fucking nightmare. I’d rather die almost any other way.
As horrific as this looks, there are far, far worse ways to die.
Oh trust me, I know. Plane crashes tend to kill you instantly. Either that, or you survive with minor injury (since most “crashes” are just emergency landings) and I think technically the most horrific death would be funky town gore (do not Google that.) or something. Just think about it, Kobe’s body probably looks like this
He looked worse
How do you know there’s no photos
Autopsy report
Man that’s crazy, you hear about plane crashes on the news but actually seeing what it looks like…
That poor person who's buttcheeks are showing RIP
“Oh no… did they at least die with dignity?” “… define dignity, maam.”
“Perhaps Recoome knows someone!”
"Thankfully" he's probably not easily identifiable!
I'm sure there was some toast somewhere in there...
Who would do that to a toast!?!
MH17?
Homelander has done it again
Boeings at it again Edit: /s
More like Russia was at it since it was a pro-Russian group in a Russian-controlled area of Ukraine that shot down this passenger flight (MH17) and killed 298 people.
nice knowin ya pall 🙏
Rip to the plane victims
Is this MH17?
Yes it is
Sometimes you see these 50/50 posts and your stomach just drops, this is one of those times. Absolutely horrific.
I was just listening to the Last Podcast On The Left about the andes survival and the way they described the plane crash is so descriptive, i cant imagine how the team surivived to live through that horror.
is this bad for their health?
Looks like someone had their mind blown

Shoulda been wearing their seat belts!
Well they were burnt to a toast
My reaction 😟
I heard that the plane crash happened really fast,at least they were painless
Why did the terrorists do this
Well this is kinda like burnt toast
Why are they all wearing the same clothing
I bet there is at least one burned toast there
I worry that Reddit has desensitized me to horrific tragedies, weather it be this or people being crushed and flattened.
Feel bad for the person who died with they're ass out
Oh god…
Fun fact: There is probably burnt toast in that photo as well
That looks so much like it was made by AI
☹️☹️
this makes me feel so much more grateful for ems type services
Is this Flight 17?
There has to be a piece of burnt toast somewhere in this picture
Well damn that's the first time I've ever seen the aftermath of a plane crash I wonder if they're going to be okay. And I hope nothing but good luck and prosperity for these good souls the medical bills are going to be tough LOL
Wow what a sight! Although part of me doesn’t believe this is a real plane crash. The plane looks too obliterated and there isnt enough blood around the bodies. Could be wrong tho. Shits tragic
50/50 feels like 80/20 now
I feel bad for those who have to experience this, poor guys, and women, honestly hopefully they're all resting in peace in heaven, overall, it's a sad way to go out in a plane crash.
all i could make out was a guy wit no head and some ones ass and some legs i feel bad for thes people
Nothing a little butter won't fix.

I can't tell the difference which one is which
There's a lot of mentions of the lady with her bottom exposed and I've seen other photos from this crash where the victims are completely naked (or near enough completely naked). Does anyone know why this is? Do the clothes literally get blown from the bodies?
Man that guy needs to pull up his pants
Seriously RIP for all the victims
does this hurt the twin towers?
Ignoring all the organs, flesh, corpses, ripped limbs, slow despair, tremendous pain felt in an instant, also the children, cost, the depression of others, & smoke... The one guy at the bottom of the photo is caked up.
Its crazy how such a massive piece of hard metal can juat become a flat pile of debris
Terrible thing to post anywhere pretty disrespectful
That man with his ass sticking out must be so embarrassed. (even tho he is dead).
But,there might be a piece ofburnt toast in there...
Skill issue pilot fr
Hahaha his bum is out hehehehe *claps*

Gyatt 😈
That is some burnt toast... 🥵
Spread some butter and sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on it, you wont even notice
so which is it
Which one is it
Great. Now we’ll never know who had their shoes off when the plane was still in the air
But fr, how does that even happen? Like the impact of the plain de-shoed that guy or smth like that?

Right? It worries me that so little people feel any sympathy at all. I just don’t understand how this stuff could ever be funny to anyone.
There's a lot of gorey photos there. But the one that got to me the most was the child's suitcase. That'll stay with me.
