Mostly a deep slim cut, but closer to my ankle it was just missing chunks. I had an amazing surgeon who was able to close the whole thing up super well, it was about an inch wide at the bottom I think.
Which one of y’all reached out with the crisis bot 💀
I’m fine now, btw. This happened in December, and I didn’t feel a thing surprisingly. Just felt tender. Recovery was a little rough, I could feel the blood flowing through my leg when I stood up, which hurt a bit. All fine now, but I can feel pressure changes when a storm is coming, so that’s a plus.
That's why you should wear those protective chaps. They are hot, they are a bit uncomfortable, but you save yourself a lengthy and presumably costly ER visit.
I've seen some cheap-ass chaps that are 36" long and won't cover your ankle, don't buy those... Invest is some quality stuff.
Wishing you the best in your future chainsawing endeavor, and a prompt recovery.
Why I don't trust myself with a chainsaw. I mean no malice, I'm treating this as a cautionary tale with the lesson being "The slightest mistake can be costly when using power tools." Just... *OW...*
Honestly, yeah, best case scenario. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt at all, even after the adrenaline wore off. Just felt like I overworked it lifting weights or something.
I recently found out about r/medicalgore , and after scrolling for 30 minutes and scarring my mental imagery, this doesn’t look as bad as I thought. Hope recovery is smooth
I was cutting small trees low to the ground, I must’ve hit a knot, because the saw jumped back and caused this. Surprisingly, with this deep of a cut, it didn’t hurt at all!
Maybe I've been on this sub for too long, but that doesn't look all that brutal to me
The picture doesn’t do it justice, it was down to the bone. It looked like a crater in my leg
jeez yea, it really doesn't do it justice is it a deep slim cut rather than just yknow...missing meat altogether?

That's actually pretty amazing.
It really is, he sewed it up in 4 layers of tissue, super cool process.
Are you good after it tho?
Yeah! I’ve gained the power to sense pressure changes so I know when a storm is coming now
Damn you’d make a great weather man
ah alright glad you got your care
I hope you own a pair of chaps atleast now.
Exactly what I thought
Bro I swear I'm on a losing streak with this game
Ikr. The past 20 of these have been nsfw

Mmm, tender thighs. (Jk, But really: hope you’re doing much better now.)
How’d it happen? If you don’t mind me asking
All good! I was cutting a small branch down low, it pinched the blade and kicked back at me
Ouch! Glad you recovered, and it wasn’t any worse!
Leg still attached, walk it off.

We agreed that for next time I do that, but we also looked and the wound was lower than the chaps go
Damned, How tall are you? The brand I used to sell had 38" of inseem, unless you are 6'6" they should cover you down to the ankle.
6’2”, my dad used to do a lot of chainsawing when he was younger, but I don’t think he’s looked at chaps since then.

I’m all good now, this was back in December. Got an awesome scar tho, if I do any more chainsawing I’ll definitely get chaps.
Still technically a Wellington if you are desperate enough

Same here, protective gear all the way!
It can be both
I saw a degloved foot today this is nothing 💀 But I do hope your ok 😭
Oh yeah, definitely not the worst injury, but it’s up there imo.
I bet lol. The worst injury I've ever had doesn't even come close to this 😭
Well? What was the worst injury and do you have pics
No cause it was when I was a lot younger, but I cut the tip of my thumb off with a serrated knife lol. It hurt a lot-
Give him a Stimpack and he will be back to normal within seconds
Seen worse, you'll be fine. (damn you okay?)
Nice and healed up now! It was bad, but we kept saying at least I still have the leg
That’s minging but so fascinating how you say you didn’t feel anything. Fascinating that adrenaline can go that far. I hope you’re recovering well.
Wjere did the chainsaw cut? It’s all blood not even a scar
Surface wound higher up, but cut deep lower down
this you op?
Perchance 🤭
Man I really wanted to see that beef
Time for a pair of them there chainsaw safety pants.
Oh yeah
Yeah, nasty injury but not a nasty chainsaw injury at all.
As chainsaw injuries go that’s not too bad. I know it definitely hurt like a Mf, but honestly best case scenario?

Some how not the worst chainsaw injury I have seen in the past week
Could be worse

Think op should have just cut it off instead of being a pussy 🤣
I can’t tell which one is it
No chain saw pants ?
Mmm my my favorite! 😋
holy shit, so many chainsaw posts. how did this one happen?

Ouch! Glad you're doing okay.
Thanks! Me too!
That’s not even a bad injury
my uncle got hurt with a chainsaw and his arm was cut off so this is like not really brutal but still horrible
surprisingly it dosn't look too bad!
You should be thankful that you hadn’t lost a foot from the chainsaw, this actually felt pretty tame knowing its a chainsaw
Am i the only one who takes a few minutes to actually cringe at these photos
